Really appreciate where you use the proper terminology (fish, gasket, tail pipe, slip joint, etc...) . Very helpful for understanding the tools.
Go cry about it you 🤓

I always liked vanities with the inlay type doors. One thing I have always done was use a 1 1/2" p-trap with the washer on the tail piece that reduces to the 1 1/4" tail piece from the sink drain. I have found that it gives better drainage especially if the sink doesn't have an overflow on it even though the trap holds water, it still drains quicker. Also by us, the 1 1/4" trap costs more. I have also used a belt sander on composite sinks in cases that I can sand the end by the wall, especially if the sink top doesn't offer endsplashes. Love that Delta offers long supply lines attached. Very seldom are they to short. If so, you can get a supply line, 3/8 on both ends.
Great concept on the silicone instead of plumbers putty on these style sinks so the plumbers putty doesn't have a chance to stain the sink because of the oil base in it.
Great job again Josh 🔨👍🏻
I always like reading your detailed responses. You are a wealth of knowledge. I never really paid attention to the price difference of the P traps. That is a good way to transition. How are you described. Delta has always been my go to faucet. The quality is always there in the price is not absurd. I did do some research on what you mentioned and it is definitely something to watch out for when it comes to using silicon versus plumbers putty. They do make some plumbers putty that will not stain so easy. Thanks for watching like always David!
This helped me out so much. Just ripped out the older sink and got a newer one and I have to drill a few holes and such haha. I can totally get this now. Thanks so much for these awesome videos!! All these diy projects I have coming up, however long they may be, are actually really fun and insightful because of videos like yours.
Excellent video!!! I like to step by step instruction.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your videos are very informative and i feel i learn the most them. Don't ever feel that you need withhold information (like others do just because they said it before). Most active viewers will be new and rookies like me, so i don't care if you've done 10 others like this one, I expected all the details on this video(the one I'm watching), and you gave them to me. Love the honesty too.
I really appreciate your comment! I do like to make sure I am addressing the DIYers in the room not the professionals. Yes, I like to keep my content as real as possible. Thank you for watching!
Another excellent video. We redid our house with delta faucets and had that same hiccup with leaks on the drain pipe!
Thanks, Tyler! It is easy to miss the metal drain being in two different pieces. Until recently, I have not noticed Delta doing this. Some thing we got to watch out for now. Good luck on all of your projects!
good job brother
Thank you so much!
Good video. Really comprehensive. Plumbing always gums me up, so I really appreciate you taking the time to run through all the steps.
Plumbing can be tricky if you’re not familiar with it. Every time I start a plumbing project. I really orient myself to the situation as well. You are welcome. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Thanks for the step by step and providing tools and parts.
Glad it was helpful!
Very professional video
Thank you very much!
Great video and easy instructions. Thanks!
Great job. Thanks.
Thank you! I really do appreciate you stopping by the premiere of the video. It’s a big help!
Thank you my friend, that was great 👍
Thanks
You are welcome!
I always learn so much from watching your videos. I want to permanently remove my dishwasher from my double sink kitchen drain. Do you have any videos on what I need to do? I also want to convert a double sink vanity to a single sink vanity so that there's more counter space in the bathroom. Any helpful videos on how to modify the plumbing?
I don’t have a video removing the dishwasher connection. I do have a video coming out soon. Installing my dishwasher to the kitchen sink and the drain underneath. It will be helpful for you. Stay tuned!

Josh you are a great craftsman and instructor -- very thorough but your videos move at a good pace. Sometimes I use utility knife to notch out drywall in corner for a cleaner sink top fit -- it's usually built up joint compound that puts corner out of square and caulk covers the small drywall cut. Also the shower tile and corner shelves I caught glimpse of at beginning look great. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
If the wall is really bad, I have done the same method you mentioned here. This wall was not that bad at all so I just split the difference. Thanks a lot for your input. I appreciate your uplifting words. I enjoy making content for DIY projects. Good luck with your projects!
I just binge watched like 7 of your videos lol. Good stuff. 👍
No need for purple primer. For finishing I like clear, less likely to drip on cabinets. Just make sure you buy a 4" or 8" spread faucet depending on the style. You do a great job explaining each step
You're better than the plumbers I work with 😂 and they do it everyday.
I’ll take that as a complement. Thanks for watching! I hope your projects going well!
Thank You , very helpful !!!1
Thank you!
I used to think that silicone was "hack work" But after talking a few plumbers, it's now the new and accepted way of installing pop-ups. Plumbers putty is the old man way..
Guess I am old…prefer the plumbers putty myself…😂😂
A lot of manufacturers recommend silicone nowadays. Plumbers putty is very handy and clean to use. Either one is fine and have their strengths and weaknesses. Thanks for watching!
I enjoy plumbers putty as well.
@@TheExcellentLaborer no matter how careful I am I always get silicone everywhere…
I never use silicon or plumbers putty. I use the rubber gasket provided. I thinks the life is longer and easier to do maintenace if required (but it is never requiered). But, What do you think? Thanks
Love your videos Josh! you are fantastic. keep up the good work. btw are you making a video maybe on full basement renovation? would be great to see.
This was very helpful, I would suggest a pop up drain instead of what you used
Nice step-by-step instruction! I looked under my sink, since I'm replacing the vanity and sink, and noticed what I now know as an air admittance valve. Do I really need that? Can I install the new vanity and plumbing without it?
I’ve watched so many washer videos and seen people use liquid nails, or a silicon before you place the vanity top on the cabinet. Which is it? I mean makes sense to put liquid nails but silicon? I’m so confused
Great video Josh! Could you mention the name of the sink you used in this video in the description ? (You did it for the double vanity sink)
Love your video. Is the drain made of metal or plastic? which material is better? and which type of drain will not cause more trouble in the future? Lift-rod or pop up? Appreciate that.
I'm going to use the Shark Bite angle stops under my sink because if the valve ever starts leaking, it can be replaced without cutting the pipe.

I recommend using silicone or plumbers putty. The rubber gasket from below is definitely the heart of the drain, but the silicone improves the water tight seal. Thanks for watching!
Does the sink just sit on top of the vanity like that or did you add some silicone? Would it not shift around if there wasn't anything attached to the vanity?
It just sits on top of the vanity, and when you silicone around the bottom of the sink too and vanity, it will keep it from shifting around. Hope that helps!
You didn't show how to attach the sink to the counter. Does it just sit on top or is there something that holds it down? Also there is a lip around the front and sides of our sink we bought. So does the lip of the sink sit on the counter edges or is the counter supposed to go on the inside of said lip? I'm building the counter so I need to know what size to go by.
The sink sits on top of the cabinet. The silicone caulk is what keeps it held in place. I hope that helps!
13:07 shouldn't use silicone caulk against wall, paint will never stick.

Trying to learn to attach the sink to the vanity.. you skip that part.
Add silicone before laying down the sink.
Misleading title, since the sink is attached to the vanity top. It isn't helpful for people who're actually wanting to install a replacement sink in an existing vanity top. Please consider names carefully for future searchers.

Aww poor baby. Want me to change your diapers baby?? Are you hungry baby?
Do you need your diaper changed baby? How about a baba!
Just be accurate. That's all that's being asked
