    Yaakov youve improved my playing more than any other teacher and I’ve only implemented perhaps 1% of the things you’ve taught. You’re a great teacher and player.

    Wow, Yaakov!!
    What an amazingly concise, well thought out clear and focused summary of everything you need to play great Gypsy Jazz or jazz with a touch of Django's genius!
    Breathtaking ...

    I love the way you have taught vibrato here, this is new to me and sounds really strong. I think it should be called 'French Vibrato' because it sounds like Edith Piaf!

    • @GypsyAndJazz
      @GypsyAndJazz  Před 3 lety +1

      Never thought about it... For me it's a mixture of how I learned from some very good Gypsy guitarists and B.B king...

      @@GypsyAndJazz Hi Yakov, thank you for the reply, I've played classical guitar vibrato, side to side, stretching and squashing the string (good on nylon) and electric guitar vibrato with a fine wrist rotation, but the movement you've shown can have more speed and force if you want it. It does certainly sound like the recordings of Django and I think it's very emotive when used tastefully. I'm having a lot of fun trying it!

    I can strongly recommend taking Yaakov's courses. He really shows you how to play this style of music. My knowledge and ability has greatly improved as a result of learning from Yaakov.

    To anyone thinking of diving deeper into GJ I can recommend from experience buying a course from Yaakov. He’s passionate about his students learning and an astute teacher. I don’t say that because because he asked me to, I say this because it’s true

    Yakov , teach us the GYPSY JAZZ scale that other style guitarists can use to improvise

    • @GypsyAndJazz
      @GypsyAndJazz  Před 3 lety

      In Gypsy Jazz the improvisation is mostly around chord notes - triads and arpeggios, and not scales and modes. You can check out these lessons:
      czcams.com/video/9xnvsiATQXU/video.html
      czcams.com/video/oG48jTfTIBg/video.html
      The only scales that is being used a lot is the harmonic minor scale from the 5th degree (also known as mixob9b13 or major Phrygian) for Dom7 chords
