Do we have pity on this ignorant rider??? NO!!! We have pity on the driver of that car, he have to stopped driving for couple of days for the investigation, but thankfully the rider is not seriously injured expensive lesson learned!

Even if it was a green man, the cyclist is not supposed to be cycling across at such speeds, let alone with a red man. Regulations say you cross at walking speed, though you do not need to dismount. If the cyclist claims that he does not know what is walking speed, then better don't cycle. She is a very lucky lady, the MPV managed to spot her in time and the crash wasnt that severe. Note that she wasn't wearing a helmet, and anyway technically even the best bicycle helmets arent designed to protect in vehicular crashes. A lot of cyclists do not know this.

Cyclists have to assume no liability over their actions and consequences to others. The law should make them liable. Through mandatory insurance. Bad path design where cyclists can simply speed across the junction without slowing down.
There are good designs where cyclists have to make a U or S before reaching the traffic junction.
