I love that he's working in Reaper sometimes now, but it can be so frustrating watching him fumble about the software, being so new to it. LOL.
I'm trying to catch a stream where he's working in Reaper so I could perhaps give him some tips, as Reaper is my DAW of choice and I've been using it for several years now.
Reaper can indeed route the MIDI like he wanted to. Reaper's routing is insanely flexible. So much so, that it's a bit confusing to work with at times. He found the plugin's own routing matrix, but apparently is unaware of the full project routing matrix, which can be shown via Alt-R (or the View menu on the toolbar. Good place to browse and look at the various windows available ..... and remember that any of them can be docked pretty much anywhere.)

Summary - 21 difficult minutes of watching joel fiddle around with a pos sugar bytes plugin and then finally coming to his senses and deleting the tracks.

Ahhh yes reaper... I tried it but even for a simple sidechain I about damn near tossed my keyboard. Other DAWs make routing super easy and I mainly use Maschine and that's stupid easy to use. lol

I'm about to blow your goddamn mind, to sidechain or route anything, all you need to do, is drag n drop.
