The all-new, 10-episode second installment of THE X-FILES is executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI Asst. Director WALTER SKINNER. Additionally, the all-new episodes will feature guest-star appearances by Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval, Barbara Hershey, Haley Joel Osment and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.” Along with Carter, series veteran Glen Morgan serves as an executive producer.
In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average Multi-Platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was last season’s No. 2 broadcast drama. It also was the season’s most talked-about event series on Twitter.
THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully and Mulder, as they investigate unexplained cases - “X-Files” - for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

It makes cry, it is stupid I know but X-files was and still is my reconfort in this life! If I feel lost, I watch X-Files and suddenly all of my anxieties goes out because even in the very dark days of being lonely and a weirdo, I was still like Mulder, an outcast!

I was young and alone with not many friends and a family with difficulties and that piece of music and the rest was like a ritual! I was ashamed to be different and not blending with the rest but every good character is like that 😉!

I like that David and Gillian both have so much respect and appreciation for the impact Mulder and Scully's characters, as well as their relationship, has had on people over the years.
Such a unique TV partnership...blessed we are to be able to share in it ...however remotely!

14 years without X-Files was really too long.
This video is perfection! Made me cry! 😢 There are close to 25 years of memories piled together in this clip. It’s amazing to see this evolution and their growth. As actors, as people, as characters. Mulder and Scully’s relationship. David and Gillian’s relationship. It was one hell of a journey and it continues to be and I will be there till the end. 💜 Thank you so much for making and posting this video!
It's great to see some David and Gillian interviews actually from 1993. It's one of my greatest disappoints about The X-Files' DVD and Blu-Ray releases is a lack of interviews from whilst they were filming. All of the interviews are in retrospect.

Sculder...MSR...M/S...or simply Mulder and Scully...they were the first TV show characters I ever 'shipped right from The X-Files' pilot episode back in 1994 (UK release) and I still do to this day. I still wonder if people who were writing fanfic from the mid-to-late 1990's still do today...

This almost made me cry. And I can’t show it my girlfriend, because we’ve only seen the first two seasons together!
I still want to believe everything is going to work out for them in the end, the way they are building the storyline and the fact that Gillian is done and CC doesn't want to continue without her gives me faith this is going to end well for the two of them, no matter how disappointing the premiere was... looking forward to the MOTW episodes. CGB better be lying, Scully has been through way too much pain, give her a proper and happy (as happy as it gets in the XF world) exit CC. I'm just going to ignore Carter's comments regarding rape for my own sake and because I love these characters! Just like the XF Hollywood is a man's world, with no remorse whatsoever to strip female characters of their dignity... so it's okay for the government, or shady men to violate her, or lizzard men to have sexual fantasies about her, but god forbid we let her and Mulder hook up and let her be the master of her own body and sexuality.... really revolting!

You could do a spinoff featuring their kid and his merry little band or maybe if you can find two stars with the chemistry of these two that they could leave the X-Files to (sorta like Star Trek: NG) but you could never do a remake with two new stars "as" Mulder and Scully which is something I fear with Hollywood being so "remake" obsessed

I never saw , felt or believed their was any good chemistry between Mulder and Skunky.
No the fans don't want them to be together at least the ones who understand that the complexity, the struggle of their relationship is what was so enticing about them, if you make them fall in some love fantasy they lose the complexity and everything falls apart, and realistically they can't have that kind of a relationship, not with their lives.
You don't speak for every fan. Their work doesn't get affected by their relationship.
Their work is their relationship, and i never said i speak for every "fan" and if you need to watch falling in love and love drama go watch some soap operas lay off the x-files. Why do you think they should "be together", what does that bring in terms of complexity to the series, what do you want, for them to find their son, take him from some family he's been living with and live in yet another happily ever after cliche.
Thank you! You speak for this fan, at least. Thought I was the only one whose skin crawls at the tought of mulder and scully in happy picket fences domesticity. Thats not what their characters are about and it's certainly not what the show is about.
