I had both shoulders operated on years ago. I was amazed how the surgery instantly made my arm near useless for a while. The physical therapy made all the difference. Now, I'm in my 60's and work out without any limitations or pain. Stronger than I've been since I was 20. You'll get better Jerry if you get physical therapy and don't overdo things.

Thanks for the encouragement, Paul. Doc sent me to PT one week after surgery and I have been going twice a week since. Glad to hear you healed well and are strong again. Keeps me motivated to keep pushing knowing better days are ahead.

I have a thing for '55 Chevys. My first car in 1975 at age 16 was a bright yellow '55 Chevy 210 2 door with a 350 and a TH350 transmission. It wasn't perfect, but it was straight and absolutely rust free. It was an AZ car from new. My dad knew the owner well, and he bought it for me. I paid him back. I drove that car for 14+ years. Went through 3 engines and 4 transmissions. Replaced the rear end with a 12 bolt Posi. Last engine was a 383 I built, and a TH400 I had built for drag racing, with a B&M ratchet shifter. I put Cragar S/S wheels on it, with Mickey Thompson tires on the rear. As much as I loved that car, I finally gave up driving it in 120 degree heat with no A/C, sold it and bought a 1979 Camaro Z28. The small block Chevy (the real one, not an LS) is by far my favorite engine, I have built at least a couple dozen of them.
I am 64, and also have shoulder problems, but my big issue is my knees. They are both totally shot. Lots of pain and a serious loss of mobility. Doctor says knee replacements are my only option, but I keep putting it off because of what others have told me. Nearly 20 years ago I built a '93 S-10 for drag racing, with a 383/5 speed. Because of my knees, I had to give up racing. I am now converting it back into a street drivable truck. Basically just changing the cam, putting a stock clutch back in, that I can operate (for now anyway) and a few other things to make it a little more practical on the street. It should still be a nice hot rod. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Awesome stories, Gerald! I love it when people share their car stories with us. Your 55 must have been cool. I understand about the heat being in SC. What did the 12 bolt come out of? Cragar's are still the best looking wheel ever made. Losing mobility is the pits. Hope you are able to convert the S-10 so you can drive it. I have a round body S-10 in the yard. My plan is to put a 383 stroker in it too. Just need to get well and back to work. Thanks for stopping in and sharing your stories with us!

Glad to see you back, I was beginning to worry about you and the Queen. I can relate to your shoulder, I got my left shoulder blown out in an industrial accident years ago and now it hurts all the time and if I try to do much with it the pain increases for several days. I can't do much of anything over my head anymore. The only course of treatment for mine is a complete replacement and at my age I don't think it will ever happen. I look forward to the 55 series, like you the tri fives have always been one of my favorites, as a matter of fact I took my drivers license test in a 55 four door. Give my regards to the Queen and Vern and keep the videos coming.

@@indyme2 Well to be honest Jackie and I are still hanging in there but I don't know about well. We have been fighting the problem with Jackie's blood pressure taking wild swings for over a year. Lot's of doctors but no solutions. I got my colon taken care of last year and then about four months ago I found out that my kidneys are failing and I have completely changed my diet to try and keep them from sliding further. Oh well, none of us are getting out of this alive.

@@indyme2 I have a reputation of pushing myself too hard for too long. Bad back and all, I overdue it. Back in my youth, well, I was a borderline alcoholic. We need to take care of our bodies, we only get one. My brother only lived 3 months, and I never got over it. He was cheated, so if your Mrs. keeps after you, it's because she wants you around a bit longer, and you are blessed to have a wife like this.
I picked poorly, so I divorced mine...
So, please mind your Mrs and give yourself time to mend.
