      We can also view it on the flip side!
      INTJ, "Wow, ISTJ enoys all the mential tasks that I hate doing so I can focus on my plans"
      ISTJ, "Wow, INTJ is always making plans so I can focus on things I care about"

    ISTJs are absolutely not boring. I don’t know why the MBTI community says that ISTJs are boring dads. That’s just not true. Shared Te-Fi axis helps with connecting with one another. Gotta be one of my favourite types. They’re amazing when you talk to them.

    Good to hear this - my partner of 19 years is an ISTJ, I'm an INTJ, and we work together so well. He takes care of the details and I'm the vision/planning guy. We've worked out ways to check in about feelings in ways that work for us and don't make us want to puke. (smile) We know how to give each other privacy and time for our personal work. We run three businesses together make it work. And he does love those spreadsheets. He makes spreadsheets for recreational purposes. We pride ourselves on being problem-solvers. We do have to push each other to remember those romantic gestures, though, or we'll just fall out of the habit and lose the juicy bits.

    I absolutely love when I get to work with an ISTJ because I can count on them to see the big picture I lay out, and then help with the fact checking to make sure I'm on the right path. Can it be frustrating at times? Absolutely, but mostly because as an INTJ the minutiae factors are usually the things I tend to be unconcerned about. Yet it's that care they put into the details that I also value as a fact check because if there is a small detail that changed and could potentially change the trajectory of a project or plan, they'll be the first to notice and call it out which I appreciate so much in the long run.
    It really comes down to just building that trust between us. As an INTJ, when that trust is built up, I know if an ISTJ comes to me with a concern over a detail, it's worth looking into to make doubly sure it's not an issue. And for the ISTJ, just trust me when I tell you a pattern is in play and go with the flow because if I'm calling it out, it's most likely because the end result is almost certain based on previous patterns and data. 😆

    • @justcallmejon22
      @justcallmejon22  Před rokem +2

      That trust really is amazing to have between the two! We admire each other's Te so it's easy to trust that things will get done once we align on Ni and Si. The fact-checking gets annoying at times but I appreciate it, in an annoyed INTJ way 😂

    My grandma is an istj and I am an intj so we connect way better than my other siblings. Whenever I am over and we want to watch a movie she would ask what I wanted to watch and I would give suggestions and ideas and then she would ask “do you want to each this movie” in response I would say something like “it’s a good movie but I don’t know.” As you said I am the most indecisive when it comes to choosing anything that would affect the group that’s not important. @jenniferhanses Před rokem +8

    I'll go with the happier stuff first before getting into my commentary on ISTJs, just because it isn't good.
    So in regards to the details versus the overarching plan, while both are important, and it's great to hammer out some details ahead of time, life is fluid. Sometimes the details don't exist yet. So we can't tell them. Sometimes we know generally what to expect. because of the pattern, but we can't do specifics yet because 1) the pattern may not hold true and 2) if it does, the details are going to be specific to this iteration.
    So I think there's a balance in that details are important and there comes a point where they're necessary, but at a certain point, we have to get moving on our plan before the details are ready or we'll never get the ball rolling at all.
    Now for my commentary on ISTJs. My mother is an ISTJ. I'm pretty sure my maternal grandmother whom I spent all my weekends with as a kid was an ISTJ. It was an abusive childhood.
    1) I got treated like a little doll. My clothes had to conform to society's standards. This shouldn't be an issue right? I mean, it's normal to want your kids to look presentable and clean? Except for the pain. Knee highs were in style when I was a child. They were kept up with rubber bands around my legs. They hurt. But I had to look nice (Sensor, Sensor, Sensor). Cap sleeves were a thing in dresses. I was always a big child , and the sleeves cut off circulation in my arms. It hurt. But I had to look nice. My great grandmother, whom I suspect was an ENFJ or ENFP, eventually split the seams on my sleeves or would let me run around in a slip because my clothes would literally make me miserable. Oh, and the sweaters. The itchy itchy sweaters. And learning not to feel the cold on my legs in the winter by simply refusing to feel cold any more as a force of will because little girls wear tights and not pants on cold rubber car seats. And yanking my head around to brush my hair and put it up in intricate hair styles. Because I had to look nice. And popping all my pimples for me, slamming my head into the bathroom wall when I was listening to the dermatologist and not touching them. I eventually started clawing up my own face to make it stop.
    It was a horror show. Probably aggravated by the fact that stressed ISTJs clean because the immediate environment bothers them a lot. Stressed INTJs lose the ability to care able things like cleanliness and cleaning our immediate environment. So the more she'd try to control me and make me clean, the more miserable I'd get and the less I'd be willing to do to care for myself. And that would set her off even more, and make me more miserable. There was a point in my life where I just went home and hid in the shadows in a corner in my room and did nothing because there was just no energy left and I couldn't care.
    The ISTJs cared everything about my outward appearance and appearing perfect, and nothing for how utterly unhappy I was. That I was not a doll, but a human being with my own personality.
    It was utterly miserable and controlling while outwardly it looked like I had the best of everything my family could afford.
    And just no emotional support. My emotions didn't matter. The appearance of the family mattered. People say INTJs are robotic, but we have emotions and I was a very sad little girl who wasn't allowed to be sad. and a very angry little girl who didn't have any outlet for the anger. And even voicing it was not allowed. And if I didn't talk I was punished, too. Because conformity was the important thing. I can remember being eight or so with my grandma's dog lapping up my tears because I was crying and no one would comfort me. I was just abandoned because my emotions weren't important and did not conform to societal expectations. It's a good thing I liked animals because that was the only thing I had to meet my emotional needs. Cats and dogs cared the people in my life as a child rarely did.
    Anyway, the whole ISTJ thing as good matches for INTJs always leads to me telling some version of my childhood because it was miserable. My sisters and I, all three of us were miserable and we still have PTSD and anxiety and depression. And my mother has never once realized that she did anything wrong. We looked perfect therefore we were perfect.
    In business circumstances, it's a good match, I think. As you say the ISTJ is dependable, and we like dependable. But really close relationships can be awful. The ISTJ wants to control the environment and the INTJ in the environment will not be controlled.
    Anyway, I know you've spoken before of having ISTJ girlfriends. And if that works for you, who am I to say you're wrong?
    For me, that kind of thing is just a big no. I've been down that road, I know what it looks like, and the heat death of the universe will occur before I go back down that path.

    Great video as always.
    When we talk about Te Fi or N informations we get along well, but when they try to impose their Si... INTJ not happy.
    I think our reasoning is reversed, mainly ISTJ function by deduction and INTJ by induction (yep we are build in reverse 🤣)
    INTJ ISTJ are very like children when we like something, especially with cute baby animals. That's why I find them so cute, adorable, vulnerable when they express their emotions.
    What make ISTJ funny is their ENFP subconscious side.
    You right, it's fun that Intuitives we are more friendly and social. N make us more soft and flexible, we adapt, we understand others. Ni compensate the lack of Fe.
    Ni dom, we are weird but people have no reasons to don't like us.

    I was married to an ISTJ for 10 yrs. It’s love at first sight, we felt connection right away. He’s more expressive with his emotions than I. Only after a few years of our marriage I started to be more expressive with my emotions. He’s definitely not good at reading people when it comes to their motives. But he’s more social and better at engaging with people. He would always asked me how I knew things would happen this way or that way or why it happened at all. Then he calls me a psychic😂 But the time came when I outgrew him emotionally and Psychologically that I became his mother and saw him as a little child where his world is so small . At the end of our relationship, he told me that he no longer knows me and that I became a totally different person. I’ve always been obsessed with my self in becoming “nobody” vs the “somebody”. My goal is to master the self, and it has lead me to go against the grain. We are both TE users, we had an amicable divorce, no lawyer involved besides the court approving it. He even said to me that I handled it like a business transaction which kinda bothered him. We are still friends and talk to each other once in a while.

      I'm saddened to hear that the relationship didn't work out but also happy to hear that you are both in contact with each other. I relate to your comment about wanting to become "nobody" because that'll allow us the freedom to grow and become "anybody" instead of a specific "somebody". Also, it makes me happy that I wasn't the only person who was instantly enamored by an ISTJ once in my life 🙂

    • @mateleacloverae
      @mateleacloverae Před rokem

      I relate.
      I was with an ISTJ for over 7 years, he was also better at handling people that I (but I think I understood them better than he did in general).
      I grew, I too started feeling that "I became his mother and saw him as a little child where his world is so small". I made suggestions which he often took as directions to follow, instead of something to be discussed further as partners. It felt like I was supposed to be his manager.
      I think the biggest issue was that he would often get so focused on the little details that he completely missed the big picture. For me, who sees the big picture first and worries about the details later, that was very frustrating...
      Even with all the ways we were similar and compatible, this dynamic wasn't right for me anymore.
      We are not completely done with the separation yet, but it's clear we will stay friends.

      This post saddens me because it reinforces the idea I've had for a while that women see men only as utilities. The moment you didn't see that he provided more to the relationship than you did, you thought of him as a child and threw him away like a piece of garbage. With this kind of attitude (which I know most women have), you are unworthy of any man's commitment, because you will not honor it. Why should any man do anything nice for you if you will immediately end the relationship as soon as whatever benefit he has provided you has ended? I think also you probably just weren't aware of the things he did for you.
      I am sympathetic to the idea that his world was smaller than yours, because I'm an INTJ male married to an ISTJ female. But I was able to accept this about her, and chose to pay attention instead to the fact that she does so many tangible good things for me, instead of focusing on the fact that she cannot follow where my heart and mind go.

    • @suzettee2707
      @suzettee2707 Před 8 měsíci

      @@brendangolledge8312 The bias that you have “ that women see men only as utilities” has clouded your judgement. First of all, my ex husband is not a piece of garbage, I have a lot of respect for him that if it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be where I am today. Even when he cheated on me multiple times during my pregnancy and had a miscarriage, never did I think of him as a piece of garbage. I forgave him over and over because I realized that he’s here as a teacher, to teach me forgiveness of others and forgiveness of the self. I am aware of everything he did for me big or small, I am hypersensitive to those things. We both realized that our relationship can no longer grow, we had a very long conversation and we decided to end our marriage. This is why the divorce was not dramatic like others do. We did not fight about properties or money, none of those at all like you see in typical divorce. So please stop making assumptions if you don’t know the full story.

Like her understanding of our friendship is based around previous experiences together and how people normally should behave in friendships plus som warm Fi feelings sprinkled in. While my understanding is more like embedded into my understanding of myself and her plus some Fi feelings, so for me to not consider her a friend anymore would take my whole understanding of myself and her to be changed, which can be quite difficult, hence the attachment.

    I say, when istj asks for a plan, give em any obvious plan, let em fill in their details first and then meanwhile work on the real plan and update them about it later. Distract them with a temporary plan ig. Does that work?
    The temporary plan can help you see the details while the istj fills you in

    Mbti is confusing me because I dont know if I'm Intj or Istj. Multiple tests told me intj even though I dont use my Intuition every time and just process what people say as it is (sometimes I ask what they mean, but still). Sarcasm can lead to most misunderstanding because of it. These tests put me into an identity crisis. Asking myself who I goddamn am

    I'm a big fan of the videos and my intention is not to hate here. Seriously your videos have helped me to understand myself a lot more and I respect you as a person; I simply want to share my thoughts.
    Based on the patterns in your previous videos discussing compatibilities with the different types, this one seems made up. There was only one brief example used and the rest was vague explanations. I understand speaking in abstract because I do it too but this one was a bit excessive. The other videos got at least slightly personal. This leads me to the conclusion that it's a made up story to add to the series of friendship and relationship compatibility. I had a feeling before but this specific video made it difficult to ignore. I am guessing you have never been as close with an ISTJ as you have with other types, which would make perfect sense as introverted as we are.
    Again I want to say no hate is intended here since tone and body language cannot be conveyed in text.
    Also if my comment seems unnecessarily mean, please delete it. If you want to rip me apart, please do that.

      Dude, I'm not going to remove a comment just because of a disagreement lol. The point of this channel is for tough discussions to arrive at a mutual understanding and I appreciate all constructive criticism! I understand where you're coming from and I agree that it's not as in-depth as my videos of other types. A lot of factors were in play such as limited time for recording before the kids get home from school, being out of practice, etc. I assure you that I have a few close ISTJ friends that I've known for decades and I dated the ISTJ for a few years. With that said, I'm not going to get emotional talking about T types, ain't no T's want to get emotional watching a video 😂

I accidentally INTJed all over the place when first working for him, and basically everything I did was a HUGE mistake. I gave a bunch of innovative ideas, forgot details, called out a few times when I could've stayed (but I didn't feel good), and if I had KNOWN he was an ISTJ… omg, I would have changed SO much of my behaviors.

    I'm going to say this from observation , ive lived with an ISTJ for over 20 years , yes they like to organise. I have come to know many of them quite well. Not many people will like this but they in my experience from the several that I know, get very obsessive , are single minded , the females are very Co dependent . I have noted them to be manipulators and covert narcs , they don't wear their real faces, and seem to love conflict of the sneaky kind, they are far from loyal . The females like gossip too. These are INFJ observations, and I know ill get some hate. I have also noted that INTJs can be blinded to the negative aspects of ISTJs because they are getting overly drawn in by similarity because its so rare for the INTJ to find that so they overlook everything else which is quite prominent.

    • @justcallmejon22
      @justcallmejon22  Před rokem +2

      It always saddens me to hear negative stories about people engaging with other types. I can't speak for the ISTJs that you've met but I will say that there's a certain level of understanding between INTJs and ISTJs similar to INTJs and INFJs. An INFJs in my life is so into gossip that his nickname is TMZ, but he has never told anyone my secrets because of that understanding. It really comes down to Fi values and I hope that one day you meet an ISTJ that's healthy and was taught at a young age the value of independence ✊

    Noooooo Elon Musk is INTP and Jeff Bezos ESTJ "outlasting, good things come to those who wait" see his early letters to shareholders of Amazon. "Long tail".
    When ESTJ's are happy they surface INFP behavior, they want to help the INTJ then.
    ISTJ and INTJ make an awkward team. My brother is ISTJ. I have an ISTJ in my business. It's tough but they bring accuracy and realism for the too farfetched ideas and rushed projects.
    If you look at Alex Hormozi saying every company needs someone who sells, someone who delivers and someone who keeps the first two out of jail - that's the ENTP/ENFP, the INTJ and the ISTJ (CPA/CFO).
    I'm going to start my own channel haha. And then people can agree to disagree and we both get views and get moneyz to buy more freedom

    • @TokyoTaisu
      @TokyoTaisu Před rokem

      And the ISTJ, when you give them a platform, then they get ENFP'ish and want to help you so much. And start giving stuff to the INTJ.
      So for both ISTJ and ESTJ it is compatible with the INTJ when they're happy and the INTJ is in it's ego.
      But INTJ being all party hardy mode will not get the respect from either ISTJ or ESTJ. They're like "can you please act normal and responsible?" lol
