Man I miss the 80's
When the internet was new, Gregg Giuffria had a short-lived channel. People flamed him saying that no one could play keyboards like him backwards (song Call To The Heart) unless they were a virtuoso. He responded by saying I Am A Virtuoso, That's Why We Made It BIG! I've never forgotten that reply!

This would be their best and most popular album if they released it officially as LP. Stand Up would be huge hit.
David Glen Eisley can definitely say there is no other singer that can match his voice. An incredible vocalist!

Same here; first time I ever heard of this band. Too bad local broadcast stations only concentrate on trendy & popular bands. Artists such as Giuffria never have a chance to demonstrate their stuff.

It’s been released as “ Dave Glen Eisley- the lost tapes” Most ended up on the House of Lords album when they changed their name to House of Lords and sacked Dave and replaced him with James Christian. Still releasing quality albums to this day 👌🎸
This is turn it up to 10 quality 80's...I never knew this existed either. Until I just did a youtube search for Giuffria- I must be dreaming, because it was not available on i-tunes. This album is like discovering a hundred bucks in an old coat :)

I also became a fan when their first record came out and i consider that album on my best 5 albums of all time. Now, this Giuffria 3 is awesome, much better than silk and steel in my opinion. This album should get it's final mix and be released, this is too awesome to be a hidden diamond.

Actually the entire 80's ! Early 80's Rainbow with Joe Lynn Turner , Vandenberg , Quit Riot , Pat Travers Band , Aldo Nova , early Def Leppard among others ! Giuffria put their 1st out in 84 which was the greatest year music wise in the 80's with Holy Diver , The Firm , Midnight Madness , Love at 1st Sting , 1984 , Crusader , Giuffria , WASP , Number of the Beast , 7800 Degrees F. , Rebel Yell , Power and Passion , the original Masters of Metal , Tooth n Nail and Styx - Caught in the Act Live , Theater of Pain , Out of the Cellar , Bark at the Moon and Stay Hungry

...Now I am more into Therion,Rage, Nightwish, Épica, Septicflesh, Rapshody, Fleshgod Apocalypse...I LOVE orchestrals arregements...Thats why I bought over 30 albums in the last 4 years of metal/rock bands with symphonic Orchestra...This said my top ten band out of metal sound is: 1.David Bowie 2. This is better than House of Lords to me, what a shame this was not released like this. It would have been fitting for the times too, 1987. Exactly that sound

This is solid and catchy all the way through. Would have done really well if it had been released. Chuck is such a good, underrated bass player.
Oh my gosh- My husband and I were just going through our albums this wknd & came across my Giuffria albums! Then we went and pulled up their videos. I did really like Giuffria, but I am a HUGE House Of Lords fan - at least for those first 3 albums. I only got to see them once, in Memphis in 1989. I caught Ken Mary's drumstick, lol! Awesome show. Never got to see them again, but I STILL listen to those albums all the time!!! James Christian's voice has always blown me away! But David's was fabulous as well!!

"Stand Up" is an amazing song with great rhythm guitars, fine drumming, bridge is nice and clear vocals. This has much similarity to the outstanding track "Hearts of the World" from HOL self titled. I love that entire album & still have on cassette when I bought it in 1988 during my high school years.

The band was a special guest act for Deep Purple on the latter's 1984 reformation US tour. Throughout that tour, despite receiving rave reviews as the opening act, the members of Giuffria were subjected to mistreatment by Deep Purple lead guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who cut the band's set from 45 minutes to 25. They also were forbidden to perform guitar solos and encores, and had to play with the arena lights on.

I just wish it was recorded and released "officially" as i am sure the production would've been incredible, but hey this is better than nothing and it sounds pretty good :)

magic 3rd album from giuffria a band who sadly only had 4 albums but damm magic. i love this. real good melodic metal band. man the lead singer just has a great sexy voice. this is just 80's music at the best.

Jamie Laszlo 3 songs. "What's Your Name" was under a different name, but it had Dave singing and Greg on the keys. Greg also produced many of the songs on the soundtrack.

I was so bummed about Giuffria ending back then, but when I heard about HOL I was really excited. I honestly thought DGE was the singer in HOL when I heard the opening track and I thought....ok, Giuffria with a different name....I can live with that. James Christian is a complete badass though and his subsequent HOL stuff is killer. I wish Gregg still made music, but hey....he gave us great stuff.

As it clearly states in the description box, ALL of these songs were INTENDED to be new ''Giuffria'' tracks when they were originally recorded. The ONLY reason they were never officially released on to a Giuffria album is because they didn't have a record label at the time. That's where Gene Simmons stepped in and signed the band to his label; with the caveat being that his buddy James Christian would replace David, and their new name would be House of Lords. ''The Lost Tapes'' is NOT a David Eisley solo album. It is merely a collection of unreleased songs from Giuffria and Dirty White Boy. It was by the kindness of their hearts that both Gregg and Earl allowed Dave to have the rights to all of those songs.
I'd recommend picking up "lost tapes" for those who don't have it.

Not mentioned is the amazing drumming by Ken Mary - as far as "Slip Of The Tongue" being better here, the only difference is the lead vocal from the version on the House Of Lords debut album. Dave Eisley kicked ass but Gene Simmons wanted a new voice for the new band. Way too much reverb for my tastes on these demos but good melodic rock songs and killer performances by the guys.

I think that Stand up is an amazing, killer song here. Really bad that it is not released in an official album of HOL, it would fit perfectly. Cordola is an alien as usual, great taste and playing, he's also my favorite guitarist so far.
Ken, Lanny, AND Chuck kicked ass on this album ... and David sounded quite good at the mic--Gregg was just Gregg. It was certainly more guitar-orientated than the previous two ... more riffing, a good thing!
Yes Ken Mary is a bad ass drummer aka Fifth Angel...I do believe that’s a chorus pedal not reverb...GUIFFRIA rocks.
