Great video mate and an honest review, I received my Sherman a few days ago and I just look the military hardware looks, in terms of acceleration try it in soft mode, way easier to get moving quickly :-) also if you loosen the front headlight so it's still tight but able to move it by hand if you do tumble it the light gets shoved back instead of getting broken. Has anybody heard if Veteran is trying to improve the design over time for easier tire changes and servicing? I'll buy one right now if I know it's not too bad to do it myself (I'm not skilled in electronics if I need to fiddle with the board)
Yeah, I'm really not sure if that's the case or not. It's quite difficult to change from what I hear, but hopefully that becomes easier in the future. I'm also aware of a few PEV shops starting up to help people change tires, I will start one myself soon.

Good review, but please add in your write up that, Veteran asked for the stress test. If you need confirmation ask Speedy Feet. So as unfortunate as it was, it was them asking for the test to begin with.
Great video! I really like the utilitarian, all performance design principals behind the Sherman. I am not sure it would be a good second EUC for a newb like me. I am thinking the V11 would be a better second wheel for me. I am also thinking there will be a lot of used power EUCs that will be going on sale soon by folks who want to get a Sherman. Perhaps a Nikola or MSX would be a good second wheel...decisions, decisions :)
If you want to go big I think you can handle the Sherman :) You're right though, I think a ton of used wheels will hit the market soon and you'll be able to get one at a discount.
@@AlienRides What do you think about the MSP? I was thinking a good compromise would be to get this as my second wheel. Not sure I want to commit to a Sherman as I want something fast, with range but not be too heavy to carry on stairs. I just want to be able to handle the group rides in terms of range but want something fast enough so I can grow into it.
Robert Fontanosa for sure, I think the MSP would be perfect for that! Not as crazy as the Sherman, still awesome and plenty of range for a group ride. Good choice.
@@AlienRides Cool! I am strongly thinking about the MSP or the 100V Nikola. I already have all my armored stuff ready to go but it feels wasted for the MTen3...I still wear most of it though as I got that little bugger to 25mph which feels crazy fast.
It feels about on-par to the torque edition to be honest, but this does have higher top-end, and doesn't suffer from sag like the MSXs do. I would love to find a buddy with a MSX and film a comparison.
I think there are a few EUCs for you. Your best bets are either this one, or the GotWay MSuper X, torque edition. Unfortunately they don't really publish accurate weight limits, but I think you should be able to manage on both.
if this things had suspensions, it would be undoubtly the best all rounded wheel on the market. but you can DIY yourself, the suspension would have to in the exterior, and the pedals moved up more above ground level to allow compression from the pistons for shock absorption which gets the pedals closer to the ground.
Wating for all season tires and for reviews on time/distance going 45mph average speed with person weighing 170lb and going up/down (Catskills...San Francisco) hills.
In regards to the roll cage it looks like it should be wider. It’s seems like it should extend out to around 1/2 an once beyond the body or midway to your calves/leg.
Alien Rides But overall looks like a well built quality vehicle. I say vehicle is more suited considering it’s capabilities rather than unicycle or scooter. This for grownups.
I already know I'll get this wheel if I want an EUC but I'm still deciding if I want this or a powerful scooter (maybe even wait to shit away my money on the Dualtron Storm)... I bet you'd be thinking "why not both?" lol
My same exact problem! I was initially going to get a Weped GT. But ultimately fell in love with eucs and decided to get a zero 10x instead. This way I can justify getting a veteran Sherman on the side!!
"Why not both" is always the right answer 😆 This is a beast of an EUC for sure, but scooters are also really fun and safer at speed IMO. It's always a hard decision, but I hope you enjoy whatever you get!
@@AlienRides I definitely want to be able to cruise at 40 mph feeling safe and I heard the Sherman with it's extra weight and being very balanced makes it feel more stable at that speed if you have the coordination skills and are willing to learn. But would you say a scooter is better when hitting a pothole as you can grab the handle for stability or the EUC for its larger wheel to roll over (in the Sherman crash video I think it cutout from a small bump he hit so the scooter is probably safer)?
ABC 123 it’s interesting, the closer you get to the cutout, the more dangerous it becomes on an EUC. You do make a good point about the tire though. I’d say that cruising at 40 is maybe safer on the Sherman, but 45-50 is safer on a scooter.
@@AlienRides Yeah I figured the Sherman is safe for keeping up with 35mph traffic where it's likely going faster like 40mph but not on roads faster otherwise cutoff is an issue especially on lower battery. And it would not be the best for sustained speeds but on a scooter I'd be willing to sustain 50+mph if I found a place and me and the scooter could handle it.
Yeah, honestly how difficult it is to change a tire should be considered before buying an EUC. I think it's actually quite difficult on the sherman, I might try it soon to swap to a road tire.
Hey Derek, thanks for your support on Patreon! I'm going to send you a mail now to make sure I get you some stickers. I'm changing the tiers around a bit now because shipping is such a hassle, but you'll definitely get some.
[1:46] Would you think it's a good idea to have the speedometer on a remote (instead of an app) so that you don't have to risk looking down while at top speed?
Poetry in motion you are........but still, I've been studying solar in van builds & i think e-commuters like scooters & uniwheels should come with solar panel(s) you can stick on the specially designed backpack & helmet - optional. I really like your silver backpack, very reflective.....isn't it nice to ride with the sun at your back? Perpetual Motion, charge as you ride.
More solar would be awesome for sure. I'll have to see about integrating that into my equipment. I think the efficiency needs to get a bit better to do so in a smaller size, but maybe it could make sense on some scooters. I'll try!
So it's definitely the top of the line one, but I recommend people get the EUC they want and grow into it. Better than buying an underpowered one and then having to upgrade in 2-3 months IMO. Others might disagree with me, but I say go big now. 👽🖖
Una pregunta amigo, que tal son las baterías del veteran sherman, como es su calidad? Este monociclo tiene Cortes de estabilización? Entre otras cosas. Muchas gracias.
I believe the batteries are quite solid, and I haven't seen many cut outs, most are due to over torquing it though. I do personally think it could have a bit more torque.
I really want to cop this as a first wheel, don't want to end up buying a beginner wheel and upgrading in 2 weeks. How bad is it to start my euc journey with one of these? (Lots of experience on motorcycles, and high-power scooters if that makes a difference!)
@@AlienRides for me the choice was between this and the inmotion v11. I was gonna request a head-to-head comparison between a high powered wheel like this vs a highpowered scooter strictly for commuting (was gonna ask on Reddit!!) If you have the time in the future, I think it would make for a very interesting video.
Here's an alternate point of view. It's a horrible wheel for a first one. First of all you're going to pretty much beat the shit out of it as a first wheel, everyone does. Better to do that with a used, cheap wheel you don't mind damaging. Next, this is a wheel you can get in big trouble with fast if you don't know what you are doing. I rode motorcycles for 25 years before buying an EUC and it was pretty much no help. Different skill set. Start with something used and cheap, learn on it, beat it up and then consider going to something more powerful.
I'm super new (days old) to looking at euc's, and I wish veteran Sherman would make this look nicer like the v11, have a better handle, but more robust/stronger as I saw another video of a guy meticulously tearing this thing apart and talk about how this could break (like the roll cage breaking apart), and have suspension to make crashing less likely. That's the ultimate wheel imo, performance, extremely durable, but sexy like the v11. Great video!
Welcome to the world of EUCs! I think it's super hard to have both a sexy design and robust build that won't break in a tumble. Lots of news around EUCs this year though, sure we'll keep seeing improvements!

I'll try!
@@AlienRides Yes, a new adaption for the purpose....some powerful computers make a grain of rice look ginormous.
Would you recommend this particular e.u.c. for a rookie?
So it's definitely the top of the line one, but I recommend people get the EUC they want and grow into it. Better than buying an underpowered one and then having to upgrade in 2-3 months IMO. Others might disagree with me, but I say go big now. 👽🖖
Where did you get the desk that’s holding the veteran?
It's super useful, it's something like this: amzn.to/3cjiSWh
I like your shoes, brand name?
I'm using Sidi motorcycle boots. Look cool, but aren't the most comfortable. amzn.to/2OT28JQ
@@AlienRides Thank you very much for you reply. Very entertaining your videos ✌
I really want to cop this as a first wheel, don't want to end up buying a beginner wheel and upgrading in 2 weeks. How bad is it to start my euc journey with one of these? (Lots of experience on motorcycles, and high-power scooters if that makes a difference!)
Nothing wrong with going big right away. Others might disagree, but I'd say get it! 👌
Darknessbot connects to mine! :)
Nice, I haven't tried darkness bot tbh, but I'll try it. Thanks for that!
You just need to sign up to the App Store beta on iOS and then select darknessbot as the one to use in beta 👍🏻 connects super fast.
The futures so bright ... you got to wear shades ... indoors...
You got to 😎👽🖖
@@AlienRides... take 'em off. Don't be that guy. It's otherwise a decent review.
@@seethlaemmert5175 @Alien Rides AGREED!!! Unless you're reading off a script and don't want us to see your eyes scanning right to left (which I think might be the case)? I absolutely love your ride footage. Just your pieces to camera needs work, show us more of your personality (please know this is not a troll but constructive criticism. Just something I always notice when I watch your great content). Other than that, keep up the amazing advocacy for electric vehicles!
Veteran, blah blah blah ... Lol. Just playing. I threw down for mine a couple of days ago...😁 You have a link on your shoes? Are they steel toe, or protected up there? I love my current shoes for riding, but not so much for crashing. I broke my big toe twice in my last two falls ... Lol if you have a link for them, please send over, they look badass!
Awesome, you're going to love it!! I do have a link on the shoes, and they have great toe protection, but I don't recommend them because they're not comfortable for EUC riding 😆 Here they are if you want to check them out: amzn.to/2OT28JQ
@@AlienRides lol...will look and probably keep looking then...🤣 Thx I think...
Nice
Thanks for stopping by! 👽🖖
whats the name of that table that you have your wheel on?
It was a simple workbench, something like this: amzn.to/2WS0VqE
=YEAH,THAT IS *THE EUC* ,THAT'S FOR SURE
......BUT STILL IT IS A EUC,SO IT'S VERY SPECIFIC AND NOT FOR EVERYONE,ESPECIALLY ABOUT BEING COMFORTABLE COMPARED TO SCOOTER WITH SEAT
This is true, definitely a learning curve and not for everyone. I just like to ride everything, more scooter vids soon 😁
Why wearing sunglasses 😎 in studio??!, wtf!!
Yeah that guy's weird. 👽🖖
How to I buy that alien sticker on your Sherman it’s sick
Hah, that was our older sticker and logo, we've got some new ones that people seem to like here: alienrides.com/collections/accessories/products/alien-rides-reflective-stickers
@@AlienRides you should bring the old one back ;)
What in the hell is that awesome looking monstrosity of a scooter at 1:58??
We call it "The Goblin". It's a pretty crazy beast, we did a video of the build here: czcams.com/video/ad7C5s7NmHo/video.html
What i can say...Gotway MSP is better..100%. really. Sherman does not have a power to hill climb, look a Marty,s overview... sherman just powering off :/ what a shame....shit happens
It has the power, but yeah they need to fix some heating/firmware issues. They are working on that though. I hope to see it climb that hill without issue.
That’s just for people who are to lazy to learn how to unicycle but want the attention
And want to go 40mph+, uphills, and compact enough to bring to a restaurant or into a store.
New at micro mobility. Not hating but looks so weird with the hands, should hold on a baton or something. Just saying.
Hah, I'm not as stylish as other riders, but ideally you have some ice cream or something delicious in your hands 😅
Ice cream and churros. All kidding aside, be safe and I hope to learn euc one day.
since it has a massive Battery Capacity , at least give a Usb port to charge my iPhone/tablet on the GO.
That would be a nice feature for sure! Hopefully next generation. 👽🖖
Where are those pads from? Thanks 🤙🏽
A few places sell them, but I get them from these guys: amzn.to/30NBJm8
Thanks 🤙🏽
Anyone get stopped by Police ? Advice When you/we get stopped?
What’s with the sunglasses inside !
Whats up with the sunglasses?
No idea tbh 🤷♂️
That the right answer...

Unless you want all eucs to be registered and licensed... Stay below 40 km/h on roads!!!
I definitely hope they are not licensed and insured in the future, that would be a shame.
Do anyone have some contact information (E-mail og facebook) to someone at Veteran that is open for input`s for improvements on the Veteran? I have some suggestions I think could be great for them to consider...
I think the official veteran group might be the best place to post/provide feedback: facebook.com/groups/565673140760848/
He's wearing sunglasses because....?
Why are you wearing sunglasses inside?
Cuz I'm weird. 👽🖖

Hey someone out there needs to start an EUC Race League 🏁
🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Sounds completely safe!
@@kennyb123 we all know people watch Nascar for the crashes. I know I used to.
💪🏻😊😋😊😋😊😋😊😋😊😋👍🏻
There's been a few events (I have some older videos), but there's a new racing league coming soon for all PEVs! I'll do an announcement video soon. www.rionmotors.com/racing
@@WHITELIONNYC true, but they have the world's best safety features to protect them. Imagine crashing at 45 mph with just padding... And likely doing it often.
Tire or wheel? They're two different things.
Good point, hope I didn’t mess that up. We do call them electric wheels though. 👽🖖
"safely cruise at 45mph" .. there is no such thing as "safe" on a unicycle at 45mph.
Purely about cutoff speed on smooth roads. Definitely don’t want to hit a pothole/bump at those speeds 😅
Those sunglasses look great on you. I suggest purchasing multiple backup pairs. It's part of your look.
💪🏻😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎👍🏻
It reminds me of a fuel container for like a pickup truck...
💪🏻🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓👍🏻
Exactly it looks so steampunk lol :D
Exactly what I thought! LOL
Lol your crash footage did not make me feel bad for your broken wheel. Looked like a bad idea from the start.
Yes, that was a totally terrible idea 😆 I've done many dumb things in my life and will continue to do them probably!
@@AlienRides no worries, been there done that many times
To expense so I got a onewheel pint for now
Onewheel is expensive. You paying more then you should for such tech.
Marek Varga I got the pint for 800 hundred bucks used and had upgrades
@@MooseBuilt yeah and you could have gotten a Mten3 with more power, range and speed and its much more portable too.
@@eveoff especially when you consider the onewheel just crashes for no reason on a regular basis.
The pint is cool, small, portable, I'd like to have one. It's a toy compared to this though. 45mph, 100 miles of range. I'll ride this all day and keep the pint in my backpack 👽🖖

Yeah I don't think NYPD will allow those lights here. Maybe get a ticket and warning to disable them.
🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
Blue flashers should be ok... Blue and red isn't. In other countries, they only use blue, so it would definitely be a problem.
Dangerous toy
Yes, but that’s what makes it fun 😆
Владислав Тирюков not really. Only dangerous in the hands of an idiot, like most things in life 😊
@@mancbiker17 Lot of idiots out there. If you saw the vids of the guys riding this in NY around families walking and even babies in carriages it was dangerous for bystanders and terrible PR for the whole EUC community. This may be the one that gets them all banned or further regulated because of weight and speed. They unfortunately can't screen for idiots when they sell them.

Yeah, ewheels is only taking deposits right now, but likely going to be about ~$2850 or so.
