    the mode button is there because some older games bug out with a 6-button pad, so you need to use the mode button to switch it back to function as a 3-button. i know one game with this problem was Ms. Pacman, and there are probably others. some games also use the mode button in-game as an extra function, for example 32x doom lets you switch weapons by holding down the mode button and pressing one of the other buttons to quickly switch to any weapon without scrolling through your entire inventory.
    also, the japanese models of the arcade power stick (both 3 & 6 button) use microswitches, unfortunately they cheaped out with the US and EU models and replaced it with the crappy rubber contacts you'd normally see in D-pad. i've actually got the 6-button JP stick myself, complete in box. it feels wonderful and is great for fighting games, but it cost me more money than i'd like to admit :P

    Nice video man. I subed and liked. My favorite is the 6 button. Much more comfortable, smaller and you needed it for certain fighting games like MK3. :D
