I really recommend to you Jin the king of high notes…
Jungkook knows exactly what to do and masters his technique very well and even improvises at concerts. It is a delight to listen to it.
And the producers are fascinated with his skills and have said in interviews that he perfectly understands 100% what the producer wants.
His solo collaborations give the same result, he just sends his part and nothing has to be corrected and he is praised for that. An example of this Charlie Puth said in an interview about his collaboration with Jungkkook on LEFT & RIGHT and Suga produced STAY ALIVE and being In Las Vegas he received the song from Jungkook and I don't need to change anything at all. Jungkook is pure talent.

This is one of my favorites! It shows off all of them and especially love JK’s adlibs. There’s another live version where they’re 2 in each section of stage and their interactions are so cute. Also 💯 agree on JK’s skills that allow him to change pitch, volume, style, tone, etc. at will. If you watch more of his lives you see more examples of it, too.

It’s fascinating to me that Jungkook is mostly self taught. He took some vocal lessons as a trainee but hasn’t since. I love to listen to him talk about singing. In the Be interviews they did J-Hope interviewed him & he talked about why he hasn’t taken many vocal lessons. In the behind the scenes of left & right he talked about his views on singing with others & how he tries to blend with them (not stand out). In several instances he has talked about how he can typically easily identify what someone is doing with their voice, the techniques they use & can usually replicate it. Doesn’t mean he sounds exactly like someone else but close. You can hear him in different videos throughout the years sounding like each member at different times. It is fascinating to me.
I again highly suggest you listen to one of his lives or at least the singing parts. Hearing him singing 20 to 30 songs in all different kinds of music, rapping….it’s so fun. I recommend the more recent ones…especially in the past year or 2. He’s really stepped up his abilities & you can hear him playing with different vocal techniques you would have never heard in a BTS song except maybe his background vocals. His best vocals are when he’s given free reign….Still with You, Stay Alive, some of the covers he’s done.
The ability to blend with another singer is an underappreciated skill. I was never a good soloist, but had a seemingly innate ability to match the tone of whoever I sang with. It goes against some singers' instincts to try to not stand out. It's impressive that JK can do this without ever having done much choral singing. That's usually where people learn to blend with other voices.
@@lizzysmom8899 Yes I completely agree! It is difficult for most singers to blend. The control he has over his voice is unbelievable to me. The way he is able to harmonize or layer with other vocalists or the rappers without overshadowing them is so impressive. He just blends in & adds to it but doesn’t take the spotlight away from them. It is very undervalued. I don’t think the other members undervalue it though. I don’t think they’d be asking him to harmonize or ad lib on their parts so much if they did. And I love that about them that they all openly recognize each others strengths.

Thanks for this reaction, John. This is a real showcase for all their talents; no wonder BTS is in a class by itself. Great that you showed that live by Jungkook, the members' interaction with their fans during their lives is so personal and candid - JK invariably serenades his fans and chats with them for hours. I love this song, especially the harmonies and ad libs and the switches and transitions are so smooth and seemingly effortless. Like you said, people can gloss over the technical skills involved in those musical riffs and passages unless you're really paying attention. Well, ARMY pays attention to every little detail.

Love Maze is a song I love seeing performed live. To be honest some of the performance footages are better than others. This one seemed pushed in to avoid copyright and the audio quality is also not very good quality. 5th muster is one I highly recommend watching in its entirety. The lyrics are also much more profound. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
They are ridiculously talented. This song is one of my favs....the entire Love Yourself Tear Album is a masterpiece. I think its best listened to from top to bottom.
The vocal line has become masters at giving the same color to a song. There are times you have to hear a few noted before you can identify them. That is pretty masterful considering they all have very different colors to their voices.

A while I ago I watched a couple of BTS reactions by an opera singer/vocal coach. He talked a lot about how the techniques for singing into a mic, particularly a very close mic as BTS tends to do, are quite different than the techniques for singing without one, as opera is taught. Each approach sacrifices some things in order to gain in other areas. He felt that BTS had amazing mic technique, allowing them to use a wide range of subtle shades and tones that would be lost if they were projecting unassisted. They can sing with power, as you pointed out with Jin's belting, but they concentrate on precision rather than volume. I think that's one of the reasons BTS sounds so unique and refreshing to western ears -- each voice is clear and unique as they weave their way through a song, never muddy even when they sing exactly the same line. The mics allow all their individuality to be captured in fine detail.
There is a similar live where they interact with each other a bit more but both are amazing. Love this song, just wished suga’s mic was a little louder 💜

Jungkook - my understanding is he was advised to not continue vocal lessons. I remember it because I have a step-brother who was an artist who was advised in HS to never take an art class because it could destroy his innate talent.
