Being a solo rider in that race, your 20th place was absolutely respectable! It looked like you did everything that you could with the opportunities that you had. Unless you could hammer 1500 watts for the entire last lap, you were not going to be able to negate the advantages that the teams with multiple riders had in those final laps.

Solo riders were able to crack the top ten so I def could’ve been positioned better but I may have spent my pennies earlier in the race. Appreciate the kind words!

I love this content. Assume you knew in advance looking at the course that it was unlikely a break could succeed, just due to the speed that would have to be maintained to get established. But I love how you went for it anyway because...fun! And also because sitting in and waiting for the field sprint with all those big teams wasn't going to pay off.

In '93, I promoted a crit in Tucson. 1km 4 corner course, slight hill on the finishing straight. 1st race of the year, in FEB. 90 minutes, avg speed >30 mph. No aero frames, no deep dish wheels, no disc brakes, no massive carb intake, no powermeters, none of that. All we had was a cash prime, often a 2 or 3 place prime, at least every other lap. #showmethemoney #ringthebellsucka

What do you want him to do? Crash out an entire field for the sake of position? Ruin his reputation? Catch a ban for reckless riding? Get to the p1/2 level, go to a national race like this then pitch in your two cents on how he should ride. He's a valuable resource for people like me who have been following him for years. He teaches how to win safely and consistently. If you have "better" advice then make a channel and show us you winning at a high level.
