Wow. I love his journey. Some part of it, I feel relatable.
I appreciate the futur, Chris Do, bringing why the education system is as it is, it's important to have conversations about it.
Again, like our national hero said, and I'll just translate it, we can't go to the futur if we don't know our past... But knowing is not enough, it's what you do with that knowledge... Jose Rizal wrote a lot of books, fought the good foght by using a pen, just like Chris is creating educational content for the people even if it means they are positioned against huge century old institutions...
Just for background, why I say what I say, is because I've been in College as an Accountancy student despite my lack of interest because that's what my parents wanted, because that's what they were taught. And I quit. I didn't finish. I was okay with humanities subjects. Okay with doing extra curricular stuff like being a representative for an interschool-accountancy-wide-singing-contest. But the actual accountancy part, I suck. It doesn't help that I think in the family, parents included, were undiagnosed Dyslexic or ADHD. Imagine having dyslexic symptoms working on spreadsheets full of number! The company is at risk of misstatements because of transpo error!
So I quit. And took the next best thing, worked at a call center.
I know there's a lot of people who watches the future because of education experiences.
I'm not where I am if not because of the education system, back then call centers required applicants with some college education, so I'm still grateful for that, but I wish my son won't have to go through the same pressure as I experienced....
I'd enroll him to the futur courses by highschool if he wants, just as a little elective, and I'd study with him.

This was so insightful. I love the behind-the-scenes element this had into someone whom I respect for their knowledge and more. The story of the grade change sealed the deal for me, and I had to continue watching until the end. I believe Mr. Chris Do that you will be a part of the Design industry's history, though you already have made an impact. And also you and the futur are entities that I constantly recommend to students of mine.
Cool to hear Chris grew up skateboarding in San Jose. So did my brother.

Ego is not a bad thing, It is a force that pushes us (stubborn guys) to create our own thing. Very interesting story you have Chris , loved it!

It's nice to see how Chris is going more in depth with what has happened in the past. Watching The Futur from 5 years ago, he wouldn't have let out some of these details, which by the way makes the content more relatable and interesting.

I don't question your transparency at all.
It just felt like you talk about these things more comfortably because I used to wonder what happened with you and Jose from The Skool times. And this is not to say you avoid talking about it either, but when you do, you only talk about how you had to separate, on the surface.
Then recently, you give more context into how he was your mentor and nemesis.
Today, you tell us more about WHY the separation happened.

I can so relate to a lot of this especially the art school I went to college for graphic design with a minor in marketing and I'm a freelance photographer and more and I can relate on that level as well. I didn't like school either I used to excel in writing as well but hated grammar

I saw this video some days ago and then lost it. So I searched up "From freelancing to fortune". Unfortunately it did not come up. That is surprising cos that is the title on the thumbnail. Like it's the most memorable. So maybe you need to work on your SEO Chris. I could not have guessed the title because the thumbnail takes away all the attention from the title. Like it's a captivating cover image and the colour yellow.
Sorry about that, we're always testing out the title and thumbnail the first week to see what performs better.
I wish i had an uncle who would pass me a 100.000$ CEC, that would be such helpful in building and growing my business. Unfortunately like many out there, i have to do lots of sacrifices and grow in baby steps.

I have a friend with a victim mindset, he couldn’t possibly be successful because he had a bad childhood. So? Now what?
Some people have to sacrifice more than others and some people have to work harder. Wherever you fall on that scale it really doesn’t matter because no one cares and it won’t make your win any sweeter when you make it. Just keep working at it and don’t let it stop you.
You don’t need $100,000 to grow a successful business, and I’m sure Chris was looking at people who started with a million instead saying they’re so lucky too.
Bro if you have a plan and it's well worth and thought through. he borrowed the money, so can you. Good faith is trust.
A bank will do that too. You just have to manage risk and interest payments.
