  • Sharing a review of my outerwear collection including my most versatile and classic blazer, jacket and coats. These options are very easy to style and go with a lot of different outfits but I added in some of the ways I frequently like to wear them.

    You always give such detailed and well-thought-out reviews of your clothes, I love hearing your reasoning and it makes me better at assessing my own purchases. I love coats and would constantly be buying new ones if they weren't so expensive! Because of the price and because the weather can vary a lot here in Canada, I tend to buy coats based on practicality and the look they have by themselves. I don't see coats as part of an outfit, I see them as an outfit by themselves, and they need to go well with almost everything. For me, the outfit I wear when I'm inside needs to function on its own, since I won't be wearing my coat for most of the day.

Third - Could you please do a video on all of your skirts? I've been really expanding that style in my wardrobe and would love your take on what works about the skirts in your wardrobe. Thanks!!

    My personal favorite is definitely my Curated classic coat. I saved for it for a while, I was really appreciative of your review as a petite person- we are the same height and close to the same size 🖤 I waited until the cool brown/taupe color came out and sized up for layering, it’s the only coat I wear now and was very worth it- I definitely agree that any lighter color would be so delicate and I wouldn’t find it as practical for that.

    Haven't worn coats so much before, mostly worn really warm longer jackets like puffer trenches since it gets super cold here in Sweden 🥶 but bought a black coat this year that I love and haveworn almost every day! Wanted to find a brown like yours but since I'm so short (150cm..) the sleves are always a big problem so when I found one that fit I just had to get it 😂 also bought a light plaid coat but since it's not layered I'm waiting for warmer weather 😅
    For me a tie wait is a must since otherwise coats usually swallow me up.. 😅 also, tying it gives more warmth and protects against chilly winds~

    I really prefer a coat that buttons up to the base of the neck. I don’t find coats without any closure, like the Curated one, at all practical.

    Love this video~ can you also show us how to style outerwear with blouse top? I always found it hard to style blouse with jacket/ coat.

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  Před 2 lety

      Will try to include this in a lookbook soon :) I think I don't wear blouses often with coats just because usually it's not warm enough in coat weather. But otherwise, I like reaching for something with a small neckline so the neckline doesn't move around too much inside the coat (if that makes sense). Thank you for watching x

    Great video as always 😊 I was very lucky to find two beautiful duffle coats in December. One of them is a lighter color and the other one is navy and dark grey in a checkered pattern. They both have high percentage of wool and I love them. However, if there is one piece of outerwear that is essential in winter where I live it is an extra long puffer. I don't love it and wear it only when I have to but I sure am glad I own one ❄️

    • @DailyHelenJ

    Thanks for another great review Helen! Question: I am considering some coats from petite studio and simple retro. "Problem" is they are all made of 100% wool and I do have very sensitive skin (the Jaspard cardigan from Sezane was way too itchy for me, i think it's the alpaca though). Do you have problems with your petite studio coat with it having a high percentage of wool? Do you recommend 100% wool coats for us with sensitive skin? Thanks helen!

    Love your videos and have been subscribed for a while, however I have a bit of constructive criticism. I hope you won’t take it the wrong way, since it has to do with the way you speak. I don’t know how it is for everyone else, but I get exhausted by the middle of the video because of the intonations in your speech not being typical for English language. Now I understand it might be something out of your control, and maybe it has something to do with me not being a native English speaker myself. I just wanted to bring it up as means of improvement and possibly attracting more subscribers if worked on. Will continue to watch and support!

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  Před 2 lety +2

      Thank you! Always appreciate any feedback as otherwise I will never know :) I think the reason might be because I cut the video down A LOT. So a video might be 2 hours before I cut it to 15-18 mins. Will try to cut things less mid sentence and I think that might help a bit x

    • @morenafay6772
      @morenafay6772 Před 2 lety

      This comment was tactfully spoken. I believe Ms. LD'H is Australian; that country has a unique accent which is not so easy for non natives to understand. Most folks studying English as a second language learn a standard British or American accent, both of which are more universally accessible. Perhaps she would consider making like an actor and learning a different accent. Also, having words written on screen is helpful, perhaps she would do this more. All in all, great content, I love it and appreciate all the hard work.
