Just rewatched the series. Matt Saracen was my favorite character. To see Coach Taylor grow to believe in him is pure greatness.

I taught high school for decades, and the last thing I want to watch are movies and TV series about anything to do with high school. I made an exception for this series. It's just so well done.
Note how Eric insists that Smash, who is in the middle of an MVP performance, go get his shoulder checked. A man who cares about his players’ welfare more than winning. Love this show forever.

My mom brought home the first season on DVD back in 2013 the summer before my freshman year of high school. Didn’t play in Texas but this show nailed the vibe high school football in a lot of ways, and yeah winning state is really this sweet.
I went played college football at high level, but my absolutely best memory was winking a high school football state championship our junior and senior year, I was the king of a small town for three years and there was no better feeling! I felt like NFL pro, it was an absolute best time of my life

Texas has 3200 high schools. 16 games to win if you include playoffs. That is a lot of snaps.

I've seen this movie....in real life as a Falcons fan, UGA fan(twice).
I am also loyal to the Atlanta Falcons as well as the Georgia Bulldogs.
In the movie, they lose on the last play. It is not the hollywood ending. And that is why I love that movie.

I was jumping on my chair when I was watching this.
Connie Britton completely sells this moment. They cut to her for maybe 1.5 seconds and her gasp let’s you know that she knows Smash is going to score but she still can’t believe it. Great emotion from the actor without over selling it

Being a huge Texas high school football fan I loved this show. The story lines, the spirit and grit, the drama of what led up to each game and the awesome cast really made this series something special to watch. I loved how the writers put the viewer into what really goes on behind the scenes in the lives of the coaches, the players and their families. I looked forward to watching this show every single week and I miss it a lot.
There are 3,200 High Schools in Texas. I think the teams are deeper because of it.

Voodoo gets a Championship Ring either way since he started the season at Dillon and ended it at the other school. He can get a Championship Ring and Runners-Up Ring.
