If you weren’t a teen during this time, YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW AMAZING IT WAS!
Or late teens, early 20s. SIMPLY CANNOT BE REPRODUCED as seems to be the “trend.” You had to LIVE IT! Stylin’ and just dancing, having FUN. Men and women not afraid of each other. Sorry you missed IT.
@@gailmarie4039 exactly! The 80’s were my teenage years. Being in the scene in your 20’s, or 30’s would have been a freaking blast.
Megami going as far as she did was not on my S16 Bingo card, but here we are 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love playing this song on bass guitar kathy really working this bass line when she joined the band in 82 really made the song a perfect song for history 😊
Chuck singing this song while Junior's father is there, dead 😂😂😂
How Belinda manages to dance in those heels is a talent unto itself.
Thanks for answering my question I loved her solo career but they were a good band too
Me too
Those heels were IN fashion. All the girls in fashion, everyone wore them.
I was JUST thinking the same thing! My feet hurt looking at them!!!!
Maybe it helps when you only weigh 110 lbs.
Fast Times at Ridgemont anyone? What an era that was the 80's.
The first time I heard this song was from the movie Romy & Michele's High School Reunion
MEGAMI IS GONNA SLAY
The Go Go's and The Bangles ran 80's female rock
Love Chucky's taste in music
The last 2 times i got gas at the station in Iowa, The Go Go's were playing. I told my wife, we are late 50's. They made great songs. Really good bass player! They were easy on the eyes also.
You got guts, kid!
A true classic never goes out of style
i read it in his voice
Chucky and junior singing this LOL
Do not underestimate these ladies, they know how to party.
okay megami
Good music and good taste brought me here
Belinda Carlisle dancing on 4 inch pumps! Amazing! She's got the beat! 😎
Congratulations Go-Go's on finally making the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Well deserved!
I love this band so much!
Definitely well deserved!
Chucky 🤩
Finally. The Go-Go's are headed to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame! It's about damn time.
Way past time!
And well deserved too
I'm so happy for them.
But excuse me, where is Sparks?
Took long enough
Everyone’s finally realizing how biased and bogus those awards are. They’re bullshit and don’t reflect at all what an artist is capable of clearly
The rock and roll hall of fame, Grammys and academy awards prove it
Whoever came up with that bassline deserves a massive raise.
The lead guitarist.
Charlotte Caffey wrote the song, so presumably she did.
Actually it was Margo Olavarria the original bassist of the go go’s and founding member with Elissa Bello the original drummer. The song was written by Caffey, Olavarria and Bello but as Olavarria and Bello we’re kicked out of the band all the credit went to Caffey
Finally I found another fellow with that picture
@@xPrincessPandora What is your source for saying that Margot Olavarria and/or Elissa Bello were cowriters with Charlotte Caffey on "We Got the Beat?" I have seen multiple interviews with Margot about her days with the band--she never makes a claim to have written or co-written this song (she does claim to have contributed to "How Much More," though). I have never seen any claim that Elissa Bello did any songwriting at all. The 1980 single version of the song released by Stiff Records, which was made when Margot was still with the band, lists Charlotte as the sole songwriter.
LMFAO CHUCKY AND JUNIOR.
My personal favorite music video. There was one Friday where I heard the song at a pep rally. Then the music video on VH1. Belinda looks good in that dress.
I forgot we all used to have this much energy back then.
I miss the 80's, they didn't last long enough. And music hasn't been the same since then.
Thank you for the video, greatly appreciated.
Take care, stay safe, have a nice day.

I miss the metal hair bands.
@@richardaylesworth1460 Hi,
I miss the metal hair bands too.
One thing I don't miss about some of those bands is the dudes in spandex pants... Too much information... 😳🤨🙈
🤣😂😆😁
Even in local bars, big hair, great sound, and... TMI. Just wear jeans, even if they're tight, not TMI being broadcast. 👖

Oh man you dont remember snorting a couple lines beforehand then dancing in the crowd?
If I can invent a machine that could take us all back there, then..............
........will one of you *please* teach me how to breakdance?
@@grantorino2325 Hi,
I can't, but my husband's cousin can. He used to breakdance back around 1985. He and some friends did a demonstration out at Walt Disney World, they were that good. So you get us back to 1985, I've got someone that can teach you. Deal?

Chucky and Junior singing!
CHUCKY lmaooooooooooooooo but this song is so good

It is time to induct The Go-Go's into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame and Museum.Tony
and PAT BENATAR !
I'm guessing like me, this song won't be the same for you either?
Still a fun song but now has benefit of being a good tune to put on if I ever want to kill my dad. Not saying I ever felt like doing so, but ehhhh, who knows what crazy events may occur in the future. :O

Syfy CHUCKY BROUGHT ME HERE
Saw them live in Houston, back in ... the early 80's.A Good friend took me to the show along with his girlfriend, who later became his wife. We were flying first class on Hawaiian Airlines, I miss those days and I miss my old friend, we will meet agian one day. At least I hope so.
God I miss this kind of music.
You don't have to. It's always with us.

Wow this is a live recording?!?!? I had no idea they were this good on stage!!!!! Gives me a whole new respect for the Go-Go's!!!!!
Watch the documentary on showtime..trust me you'll see..they're a real band bro
They HAVE ALWAYS been amazing live, perhaps as amazing as Oingo Boingo was live before Danny Elfman became a commie.
In high heels!
sempre juntos na vida mano
women and rockers even dressed better in the great 80's !!
Belenda Carsile Rules For the GO-GO's
I have a confession I have had a crush on the go-gos since 1980!
The Chucky TV series sent me here. I knew of this song before then!
The Go Go's had it all over the Bangles.
agree, loved their punk edge
Chucky! :D
Belinda has such a great stage presence without even trying to
@georgecostas6745
And such a great dancer too 🤣😂🤣
I love watching Belinda dancing in those sexy, kickass heels! Have mercy!
Chucky and Junior singing along with a dead body in the hall.

Chucky has some good music

Belinda's moves in high heels is really something.
Belinda is wearing some great heels and she dances in them better than about anyone I’ve seen
Belinda has gorgeous legs!
Sexy as hell, isn’t she? And so were so many of the girls back in the 80s
these gals rocked it, under rated and over looked
Thank God for the 80's
The Go-Go's will be inducted into the Rock and Roll H all of Fame
omg
It's an over rated honour...
They haven’t been already? Wow.
Sadly, the Rock Hall of Fame is not a public entity. If so, the GoGos would've been in there years ago. Instead, the RHF is Jann S. Wenner's private club. And he lords over it like Spanky McFarland, deciding who can and cannot come into Our Gang's secret hideout.
@@jacklowe3429 Thanks! That explains something that baffled and sorta sickened me; a few years back they announced the induction of.... BON JOVI !!? It was the year The Cure got in, too; and that made me smile, so it's a mixed bag, where The Velvet Underground will get in, but they would probably share the night with ... like ... Styx 😩
LMAO CHUCKY
The Go-Go's are No.1.Tony
I Remember the 1st time I Seen this on MTV..When TV was Worth Watching. Not like Today.
Anyone here who rocked out to this as a youngster??? I'm here!!!!
I was in college when it came out, and MTv actually had music videos.
Came here after watching Chucky Ep.7 gave me goosebumps
Look kids! Real Rock and Roll! Go-Go's forever!
Always makes me think about the opening Mall scene from the film FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH (1982). Rockin' good song.
Best all girl rock band ever .Two thumbs up GoGos👍👍
Only for someone who’s never heard ‘Fanny’!
Just finished watching chucky, I forgot about this classic

I can remember when this song hit the airwaves in 1980, my older Sister, Susan and I, went to the music store in McMinnville, Oregon and she bought this cassette! As soon as we got back into her car, she opened it up and put it in the tape deck player and we cranked it up!!Susan just loved the Go Go’s and she wore that cassette out constantly playing it over and over until we learned the lyrics to the songs! I have the CZcams app on my Roku device and it’s on auto play and the song “Head over Heels popped up and started playing and so many wonderful and amazing memories of my Sister came flooding back to me! Susan was killed in a car accident at the age of 25 years old on May 1st, 1981 and every time I listen to this song and several others, it’s like she’s sitting next to me rocking out! RIP Sue, I love you and I miss you so so much! 💕🙏💕
God bless
That's awesome.
I'm never amazed, but just happy as fuck when people like you and I can be transported to a time to place by music. It's more than music that takes us there, more than a feeling, it's a timestamp upon our lives, a literal ability to manipulate the 5th dimension and return to our beloved space. RIP to your sister and all our beloved memories.
Sorry to hear about your sister, I'm sure the loss is still keenly felt. I know everyone can get nostalgic in regards to music but it really is a wonder how certain songs evoke the strongest and often happiest memories of people we've lost. I can sit back now and try to remember my grandparents, uncle, friends etc but its just fleeting memories that are tough to hold on to but play certain songs and its like your back with them in happier times, vivid memories and you can remember so much more, until we humans build a time machine music can do the job just fine!
Awww--what a nice memory to hold & make present.
The original 80's all female rock band. Awesome!
Pop band u mean, with a corny edge, but sold records. Ha! 😀
Fast Times At Ridgemont High brought me back to this.
If we only knew back then what we know now.
First heard this on Fast Times At Ridgemont High and now on Chucky
*Don’t fuck with the Chuck!* *YOU GOD DAMN WOMEN DRIVERS!!* - Chucky
This is going to be a controversial theory, but I thInk what they’re trying to say here is that they got the beat
Holy shit I hope that's true. That is a pretty fucking crazy theory. Do you have any proof to back up this claim?
Yeah, they got it! Lol
TR I G G EREDDD
Aria Chamravi uh... why does this TRIGGER you? I'm confused.
I think you're reading too much into this.
The prettiest Go Go was all of em....
OMG is this the sexiest most powerful group of women in the 80s?
The bass player is a killer... on a lot of their songs the bassline is just so solid.

I loved this group. So glad to grow up in the 80's
Greatest decade to group in!!!
THE 80S THE BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE
if this song was released today it would still sound fresh
Honestly they should too!! A bunch of these songs from the 80s and 90s. Remixes and collabs too.
This is one that plays at my work (Kroger) and I think it's one of the better tunes, along with some Ramones and Talking Heads tunes.
sadly true
No doubt
It was released recently. Give Grace Vanderwaal a listen.
How can you not love the Go- Go’s

Chucky and Junior brought me here!!!
Love them 80's, fast times at ridgemont high
I wish I was around for the 80's 😥
They do have the beat....They played their own instruments and sang without auto-tune. A real band.
TURN TO JESUS TODAY FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD , ROMANS 3-23
We got the beat! Just call us the GO-Go’s
I had a show today at my school. It was called making the band and this was the first song.
Being a hip-hop and R&B guy like myself this is a feel-good song but the Go Go's were pioneers, 80's icons, Rock & Roll legends, and those ladies can rock
JUNIOR’S FAV SONG
I had a school frenemy who was obsessed with this song. I would always laugh. It was like Carlton with Tom Jones.
I love my GoGos!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️
By far the best Go-Go's song ever. Those girls rock! I am 47, but still enjoy this song as if it was new. So glad I grew up in the 80's. That bassline is just freakin' awesome.
Belinda turned 65 today

Such an underrated band. They are usually seen as sort of a novelty, as an "all girl band". But each of these girls is at the top of thier game. Fantastic.
Look at all the great girl bands we had to pick from : T Go Go's, The Bangles, Bananarama and Wilson-Phillips. Some of the best ladies of rock.
@@ajkendro3413 The Bangles were very much a successor to the GoGos, all competent musicians in their own right; Bananarama and Wilson Philips were just vocal groups.
