So much love for the tradition. There's a plasticity and snap, crackle and pop that's unique to the alto. I love the ability this man has in mastering not just the 'whats' but particularly the HOWS. Zen and the Art of Alto Sax tradition. Quality.
... and a good bit of Benny Carter for the melody - those false fingerings are signature Phil Woods. And Patrick plays with even crazier chops than most of those giants.

Yup I'm tired of just hearing 251 over and over with same arpeggio and scales lol. The chords in old jazz music are way more interesting
