I just bought a 91 suburban, it was some kind of custom build. Leather seats, lots of real wood trim. I want to make it a overland rig. Love this video

@@TheRandomDead Actually, all the conversion trucks did. Leather seats, wood. Sounds a lot like one.

I just picked up my first suburban. It's an 86 GMC K20 4-spd. I wasn't even looking for one but one showed up on marketplace and when I saw it was a factory 3/4 ton, 4x4, 4-speed manual I had to have it.

I sadly missed out on an 89 K2500 burb. It was a silverado with a 4 speed and barn doors. Definitely sad about that one.

I have an 87 V20 Diesel Burb. Love it.

One of the coolest things you can do is get a set of Detroit steel 18s for your square body, that way you can do a 275/70/18 and there is alot to pick from in that tire size, also you can run a big brake kit for towing and still have original dog dish center caps

Only a couple minutes in so far..
Just want to say that there is in fact a difference in the frame between the 1/2 and 3/4 ton burbs. The 3/4 is thicker. So if you're seeking anything that resembles heavy duty then stick to the 3/4 ton version. Please feel free to walk the many junkyards with a set of calipers and prove it to yourself. Its free. Most lessons aren't. You're welcome.

    87 custom deluxe owner here!
Throwing 4" lift on 33 12.5s on this week. My goal is to make it a dual purpose rig... overlander and waterfowl hunting bruiser!

Great video! I definitely agree on the 2in lift max and 33s. I love the two tone color paint job on your suburban. You mentioned at the end of the video that you repainted the top part of it which leads me to my question. Do you happen to know what the GM factory name is for the blue paint or better yet the WA paint code number. I have a white suburban that I've wanting to do a two tone paint job on.
