Great minimalist interpretation with a "meditative" timing. Very balanced in colours and dynamics. Love it!
Thank you!
Absolutely wonderful. Merci for uploading 🎶
Serene music.
This was absolutely beautiful!
+Ravila Pieri Thanks! :)
First time I cried listening to your performance. Thank you!
Wow, really glad the music had an affect on you! Arvo Part wrote this piece in the memory of a friend of his who passed away. The music is very powerful
+HOCKET ensemble I love Arvo Part music, but your performance aroused in me a lot of emotions. I would like to hear your live performance.
+tadeuszszymon thanks! You can always check out website (www.HOCKET.org) or Twitter (@HOCKETensemble) for information on our performances!
Ça y est je viens de commander la partition !
I play this on the organ and my ears do look for certain things, but your playing is very, very lovely and you add to the understanding of it. Thank you.
+Edward Hackney Thanks! The organ version is amazing too!
So beautiful!
+J Mc Yes! Every note of this piece is perfectly chosen and so purposeful!
Abisal, ca un tril de mierle, primăvara!
Lovely! I am an organist and am planning to learn this piece. I live in Glendale only a few blocks from the Brand Library - I had no idea recitals/performances were held there!
Yes I know this piece well from the "Arbos" album. Works very well for piano.
Love this piece. And your performance is just perfect. Thanks... Why does it make me feel so sad? What is there into or behind this music? Are the armonies? So, so simple, but so deep...
Don't you know if there is a transcription for two hands?
the secondo plays mostly strict parallel tenths, while the primo plays the "bell" (tintinnabular) notes. you could probably condense that secondo part into parallel thirds and play the primo as is, and then it may work - that said, you'll then either have much wider spacing between the bell and melody voices, or you'll lose the bass range in the secondo's left hand. in this piano version, there's also a lot of hand crossing between the two players that's not apparent in an audio recording but you can see in this video, and I think that changes the performers' experience playing it (as well as the audience's perception, if they can see their hands), and that element will certainly be lost in a 2 hands reduction. so, should be doable, but it'll still be pretty different from this version
@@djspacewhale thank you very much for your explanation! 🙏🏻
So sad. But move deeply heart.
A beautifully sustained performance. The slow tempo works well. Who arranged the piece for piano duet?
The piece is originally for piano four-hands or two pianos - it can be played on either
@@hocketensemble Thanks very much for your reply. I only knew it as an organ piece. I wish contemporary composers would write more music for piano duet / two pianos. Well, at least some of Kurtag's Jatekok are for this combination ...
"All miracles happen in private"
Goes to show that some things don't require technical complexity to be beautiful...
i would say most things don’t require technical complexity to be beautiful
super!!!!
rafael55 Thanks!
I begin to understand how each note counts, and is as important as the one before, or the one that follows. The space in between helps me understand more.
Together you make incredible music. You should be very proud of your high level of sensibility and musical capacity.HOCKET ensemble
Thanks again rafael55!
We totally agree - - Pari Intervallo is a masterpiece! We are really looking forward to performing it again in a few weeks down in Orange County, CA!
Очень хорошая музыка очень дилетантски сбацана. Кто эти люди??!
Too bad that one note is so out of tune!
Thomas Kohn ......perhaps like the intentional « off » stitch in a finely crafted Persian carpet, placed there because the notion of « perfection » is merely human vanity in the eye of Allah.....or in the vastness of the universe....
Ok..
