The absolute perfect attention to detail of having Kraven die exactly how he had described he wanted to die. In a field of flowers, with the tears of his ancestors raining down on him after being beaten by a worthy opponent
im psure he also mentioned tears of flames as well before, and thats why theres the billboard showing fire in the background which is an amazing detail in itself

Still pissed about that movie since carnage is my favorite Spider-Man villain

That movie was both a disappointment and a giant middle finger to fans of Carnage. Whoever’s idea was it to make Kassidy a sympathetic character should be fired.
Once the Symbiote reaches it's full potential with Harry as Venom, Kraven immediately challenges it, as it's not been Spider-Man or Harry that Kraven's been hunting, it's been the wearer of the Symbiote, and the most bizarre part? He knows he has absolutely no chance of victory against this monster and the thought absolutely excites him simply because the Symbiote is the only thing he's ever hunted that's never been prey in any sense of the word, only a hunter. Kraven is such an amazing character in this game and I can see why people love him if this is how he is in the comics.

Gotta admire Kraven’s brazen moxie; most any villain would be squealing for mercy when something like Venom is after them, but Kraven outright encourages the brutality and bloodlust, seeing as much as a successor as an opponent.
Because for Kraven it's all sport and challenge for the hunt and he knows he lost against his prey

You should read Kraven’s Last Hunt it is one of Spider-Man’s best comics.

Yeah, too bad the rest of the game was trash. Peter should've gotten the black suit earlier in the game, Harry was WAY too quick to turn on Peter when he said the symbiote was dangerous, Miles' new suit is awful (the hair sticking out on top looks SO STUPID), and we're just supposed to forgive Black Cat for all the bad shit she's done just cause now it's for love? Not to mention the fact that Spidey never got to yell at Shocker in his black suit like everyone wanted him to.

Honestly a masterful bit of gameplay to have us play Venom and start by killing Kraven, the guy who was the main villain for the first half.
Kraven went out like a champ too, thoroughly enjoyed both characters.
This is by far the best adaptation of Venom in videogame. Even better than the movie

This is not Venom tho, this is like the most basic version of a villain ever... Venom was never like this and should not be like this. He was great visually/animation/voice, but the personality of Venom is all gone, the movies weirdly enough did a better job at portraying Venom a bit too goofy sure, but still more like Venom.

For Kraven, dying to a decease was a thought he couldn’t bare…so that’s what set off his journey to die doing what he loved: Hunting. His thank you to venom was truly heartfelt cause it was what he longed for.

Yes, but only for this one section, and his moveset isn't too deep.
I feel like they only did this because Spider-Man was out of this part of the story, and they couldn't just have a 1-hour cutscene.

@@julianx2rl That's a weird reasoning...Symbiote fighting mechanics was already established when Peter had the suit so they could easily implement them fully for Venom. It is funny that you aren't saying "I am glad they gave us actual gameplay with him and made us feel his strength instead of just making it a cutscene and be done with it" but complain just to complain. People were asking to play as Venom years before the game came out so I applaud Insomniac.

What I love about this game, specifically it’s boss fights, is that you’re not likely to accidentally end conversations early, which for me anyway, is very annoying to do, you’re focused on beating the boss, but then you accidentally cut off a pice of dialogue during an emotional moment

Actually surprised by how gory that kill was. The game has been pretty tame with its violence until this moment. I mean, sure you see both Spider-Men beating enemies to a bloody pulp but not as bloody as this one.

I think the villain motivations in this game are a significant improvement over the last one. Mister Negative and Doc Ock were great villains but it felt like they were doing a lot for what was basically just revenge against Norman Osborn. Maybe I’m just tired of the revenge storyline but I found that motivation to be kinda weak. But Kraven looking for someone to best him as a way to justify his impending death is far more interesting. I can’t say I’ve seen that before. I was also initially resistant to the idea of Harry being Venom but it was more poignant having it be someone close to Peter as opposed to Eddie Brock.
It really is. I still don’t see why the reception is mixed. Guess everyone can’t be satisfied with everything.

Kraven reminds so much of Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho. He wants to fight the strongest fighter that can end his life to satisfy his desire for a thrilling fight. Toguro was different, he wanted someone to push him all the way up to his maximum power.
Never really liked Kraven growing up..But this adaptation of him was amazing.

I always imagined how someone like Arkham Batman would fare against this Kraven, this dude is tough enough to last this long against characters that far outmatches him in physical stats like Spider-Man and Venom, he is also good at stealth, observing weaknesses and setting up traps, much like Batman. Arkham Batman is skilled and tough enough to fight against someone like Deathstroke who should outmatch him in physical stats but is able of fighting him on equal footing, not to mention, beat him just by being Batman for 2 years in Origins(It could be argued Deathstroke was severely nerfed). Judging from Kraven's feats in this game, he would murk Arkham Batman. Batman should hold his own(I wish) but ultimately would lose unless he uses a suit that increases his physical stats.
With how Kraven studies his prey, He might Just avoid batman knowing He'll probably never get him to give up on that no kill rule. It's true he was pushing spidermans mortal limits when he had a symbiote, but Batbro keeps saving his villains from all sorts of BS.
Arkham batman would beat Kraven. Deathstroke is just 1 of the many super human enemies he’s defeated. In origins it was toe to toe, yes. In arkham knight he literally 1 shots him. He 1 shot an armoured super soldier 💀 You can’t ignore that feat. He’s defeated ras al ghul, solomon grundy, and of course the menace Bane. He dodges a rocket in arkham knight. And I haven’t even mentioned tech like the batmobile or batwing or any gadgets. He’s cracked man

Batman would probably win but he would absolutely not try to touch Kraven in a fair one v one. He’d just use stealth & his gadgets. Keep in mind Kraven was only seemingly ever beaten by the symbiote & he was fighting fully capable superhumans too like two spider-men. It would still be a brutal fight but Batman isn’t gonna try directly swinging on him 😂

I can't wait for the PC release in years, imagine some people may add a mod which you can free-roam as Venom around the city, not just playing as him in story missions only.

I’m hoping if Insomniac releases a dlc, they let us play him again. Maybe add swinging/climbing and gliding for him with symbiote wings, and flesh out his skills and moveset just a bit so we can play him in free roam

This could be the way they bring back a version of Venom. In the lethal Protector comics the rest of Venoms children (Scream, Riot etc.) were born from his severed tongue. If insomniac wants they can use that piece to create a more Anti-hero version of Venom to combat the teased Carnage.
I’m fully convinced that Spider-Man 2 will win Game of the Year. Insomniac gave more than enough to the fans.

I absolutely love Kraven in this game. He is everything i hoped he would be and more
Insomniac NEVER hinted at venom being playable, it was all just fans clinging to hope. And not only do we get to cause mayhem for a mission as him, but we get a boss with him too? I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Venom's level was a last minute minute addition to make fans happy
well there was one tweet of a fan asking if venom was playable and they said "wait till oct 20 to find out"

Haven’t really thought about it till now but it took a whole alien to put Kraven down. None of Spider-Man’s rogue galleries challenged him so he sought out something not from earth to kill him. And what’s crazier to think about is despite how strong Spiderman is with super powers being able to lift over 10 tons, venom being an alien is still stronger. Super powered human vs a freakishly strong alien is poetic.

So when Venom eats something/someone, does it go down the host’s digestive path or the Symbiotes? Even in the comics it always confused me as to how that worked.
Yeah the symbiote uses the hosts digestive system and symbiote's acid melts the remnants. Fun fact venom's saliva is what he excretes after eating
Symbiote biology is weird. In some cases theres a person inside that found if you dig in or rip it out. Other times they might as well be made of the Symbiote sime too and aren't bothered when they get stabbed through the body.
Harry eats when the Symbiote eats and vice-versa.
When Kraven said, “Thank you” to Venom, I thought he was gonna respond with a “You’re welcome” but this, 4:04, I totally was not expecting this.

Playing as Venom was my fav moment in the whole game, brought back memories of the Ultimate Spider-Man game from PS2.
Now here is the thing that gets me excited, I have not seen the end of the game so idk if venom dies or whatever, but I’m curious, they surprised all of us with a Mile Morales game, sure it reused most of the stuff from the main game, but it was a nice way to hold us over until this game came out, I wonder if this venom tease is to show us hints of a possible venom spin off they have in the works

Apparently he put up the best fight against kraven. Kinda sad. He never really was a “bad” guy. He just robbed banks and stuff.
You know there’s something oddly endearing about seeing some love for Shocker. That said of all the villains from the previous game he’s the only one who really didn’t deserve to die as the others were all pretty brazen about their terrorist plans.
That was really tense, having him actually bite off his head is a bold move 😂
