Growing up in the early 2000's, I feel like I got to catch the very last remnants of the 80s. There was still a ton of 80s cars on the road, and my parents had some. I grew up watching VHS tapes and listening to cassettes. We didn't get internet until 2006.
@@TheD_R_G I grew up in the early 2000s. I feel like that was the end of an era. I still grew up with VHS and cassette tapes. Just bought a huge box of cassettes for $5 today actually. Haha

Miami Vice: one of my all time favourite shows from the mid-80's. Synthwave: one of the most timeless fields of music in my life. These two combined: priceless!

Here in Australia on one of our tv channels, they are showing "Miami Vice" from the beginning. I was just a teenager when it first aired on television, you can imagine the memories that come floating back when I'm watching the show now...
Thank you so very much for this! This mix validates the pain in the heart while giving a sense of strength to go on. Brilliantly done, friend. Again, thank you.
Who knew that one day we would find charm and art in analog tape flicker. I love the visuals. The 80's were beautiful in their own right and it is amazing how the aesthetics of things pointless became synonymous with our reverence for the era
I still remember my cassette tape of the soundtrack. Pretty much wore it out listening to Crockett's Theme. It still hits... all these years later. Absolutely love it.
Don’t, know what it is, but something about this song fills the cavities of my heart and takes my imagination to somewhere fantastical. Can’t explain why.

Back to that basement where we sat playing Commodore 64 games for hours and hours my mate and me. Back to that sweaty school gym that I hated. Back to the long lonely walks in the Northern woods thinking about the Transformers and the Gi Joes. Back to Dungeons and Dragons, Knight Rider and The Final Countdown. Yeah it was better then.
Never have I been so happy to see a decade arrive, nor sad to see one leave. I suppose it's the same for most people in their teens, but I was born on the edge of a new decade, so when the '80s ended for me, so did an era of life.
