Oops, Disney film. 😆
It's ok. It happens.
No worries.😊
Watch treasure planet, also Disney, also underrated
If you can stomach any more disney films, I'd reccomend Strange World. Not quite confirmed, but this movie had no publicity at all and it's probably because a character in it is LGBTQ+, love disney
Its cool we’re here for your personality and reactions, not your corporate media classifications 👌 Still a great and fun video!
“And he took his suitcase? Marge, honey, I don't think he's coming back!” - Packard
“I have to call ya back- No no no, I’ll call you.”
@@CarnytheM-mv5uoPackard is absolutely amazing. Such a great character
@@user-js3xr9ly2v
Oh yes she is. Even if she’s briefly in the direct-to-video sequel, she’s still has amazing lines and screen time with her on-the-phone girlfriend, Margie!
“We’re all gonna die.”
Packard!
The crew wore shirts that read:
"Atlantis, less singing, more explosions."
You should react to Disney's treasure planet as well, it's equally good, if not better imo, than this movie, and they're both among the most underrated Disney movies ever made, and the treasure planet score by James Newton Howard is up there with the best of john williams and Hanz zimmer imo, I can't believe it's never been officially performed with a full orchestra live, apart from the recording for the movie.
There is a two hour BTs making of Atlantis on here that I'm guessing is pulled from the DVD of the movie and seeing their passion and drive to make this film with the core animation and writing team coming off Beauty and the Beast and Hunchback of Notre Dame both very successful films that had music as a key element and more drama based.
@@ncard00 Yeah, I have a very special place in my heart for Atlantis (autistic eleven year old me hyperfixated on this movie HARD, I was able to write in the Atlantean alphabet by memory), but I do think Treasure Planet is the better movie
@@brodericksiz625I’m glad I’m not the only one that was absolutely captivated by Atlantis when I was younger! Though you knowing the alphabet is hardcore! I relate to milo far to much and even named a car with unlikely traits after him.
There are 5 movies that only have gotten better with time and are my absolute favorite animated movies of all time: Sinbad, El Dorado, Atlantis, Treasure Planet, and Prince of Egypt. And they all balance 2D and 3D animation so well.
lad you just say 5 of my top 10 XDDD those movies are god tier
I'm glad to see some Sinbad love. The story is pretty basic, but I love its animation.
And the rest of those are all fantastic movies, completely agree.
Okay I have to absolutely 💯 agree with you there but I have to admit I still haven’t seen Sinbad I almost did but then didn’t so lol maybe eventually I will 😅
Plus Steel Giant
I'm glad to see Treasure Planet mentioned. I had it on VHS and watched it a lot. Still one of my favorites
"I haven't seen an animated movie for kids when so many people die in such a short time."
Mulan.
True but it was either implied heavily or the mongol army which feels like a win 😆
Price of Egypt
@@pandahat7333 is not disney, is dreamworks

Try "Titan A.E." Its opening is like this one, but FAR more cataclysmic.
Fun fact, when Milo visits the study of Mr.Whitmore at the start, there's a massive wall fish tank.
Those fish in the tank are a very specific species of fish known as a celeocanth, which was thought to be extinct for a LOOOOOONG time but was only rediscovered a few decades ago. Its biology hasn't changed much since early history so it's practically the last dinosaur fish lol. There are some amazing documentaries about them here on CZcams.
I thought it was so cool to see them in this movie, in a millionaire explorer's fish tank! Lol
I noticed the same thing when I watched it as an adult and I remember feeling the same way! I love little details like that.
That's so cool! Thanks for sharing~
Granted, it's a little early for them to be rediscovered as such, but still.
@@christopherb501 Well yeah, in the movie it's too early. But that's kind of why it's so cool to see them here specifically, because of the fact that Mr.Whitmore is an eccentric explorer who had ridiculous wealth, and the ability to discover things AND keep them hidden. So to think that he had already rediscovered a celeocanth at some point on his journeys and decided to just put them in a fish tank at his secret home, I think that's hilarious. 😅 Lol
💥💥💥🦅🦅🦅CELEOCANTH MENTIONED💥💥💥🦅🦅 WHAT THE HELL IS EXITINCTION???
Underrated Disney movie. This was considered a flop. This, Road To Eldorado and The Iron Giant were all phenomenal movies that performed terrible at box office
Ugh yes iron giant
Treasure Planet too. Beautiful movie. Royally screwed over.
And yet all those films have only gotten better and better with time.
Funny how that works out, huh?
Must have been bad PR. I never knew about any of these movies until I was an adult. Never saw/heard of them or their names at any point. Really sad :(
@@VelkanAngels
It seemed like the PR parts of those flicks advertising campaigns weren’t that well thought out or executed.
Could the reason, possibly.
Fun fact: The people who were making this movie actually toured a German U-Boat to familiarize themselves with the technological limitations of the time period.
That’s why you don’t get animations like these anymore the passion and detail on these projects are inSANE
Marc Okrand, the linguist who created the Atlantean Language (as well as Kingon), also served as a facial model for Milo!
It's also just coincidence that Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy was also in this movie
For reference, Milo is one of the older characters for disney at 36 years old 👀👀 Also the part of Kida introducing herself, i absolutely hate how disney fucked his character just to give her a nickname for the audience to use because there is no way, this man who has spent his entire life learning to pronounce/read/speak Atlantian would suddenly fuck up how to say Kidagakash! He wouldve said it Perfectly.
I think reading a language is not the same as knowing how it´s written when spoken, don`t tell me you´ve never heard any English word that you needed spelling for it to know how to pronounce it properly, because it sure happened to me in some languages I studied. Unless I had read that word or name before, I would still need spelling.
Egyptologists learned how to read heiroglyphics and even came up with their own version of the spoken language, but the fact of the matter is, no one alive has heard the Ancient Egyptian language spoken before, so there are only theories on how words are pronounced. For instance, the word Ra. It could have been pronounced "Rah" or "Ray", Egyptologists chose to pronounce it "Ray" (I think that was a more modern decision, since I remember as a child hearing them say "Rah" but during a recent Egyptology course, I was corrected on the pronunciation). So yeah, it is possible to not be good at pronouncing a language that you can read, if you've never heard it spoken by a fluent native of that land and time.
Um, to be fair, knowing how to spell words does not automatically mean you know how to pronounce them.
Just study swedish for 5 minutes. You'll see.
I thought he stumbled over her name because she is an attractive and strong woman in little clothing. XD
Vinny is literally the best character, you cannot change my mind.
"Hey look I made a bridge! Took me like 10 seconds. 11 tops."
"We've done alot of things we're not proud of: robbing graves and plundering tombs, double parking! But, nobody got hurt... well, maybe someone got hurt; but NO ONE WE KNEW!!!
I forgot where I saw it, but someone pointed this out, but-
when Kida's mom is taken by the crystal, her dad tells her to avert her eyes
next we see him, he is blind
now the man's old, so it could be old age. ...or he kept his eyes on the crystal, on his wife
I love this theory so much! He loved her so much he couldn’t look away😭🩵
This is the movie that convinced me to become a linguist at such a young age
How do you like 2016's Arrival?

I see "Atlantis: The Lost Empire", I click! One of my favorite animated films ever! It basically has the same (general) plot beats as "Stargate", which is fine by me as I also love that movie. The animation is beautiful, characters are lovable and memorable!
Cue why I had a crush on both Daniel Jackson and Milo as a kid xD
Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet and Emperor's New Groove are three Disney Films that just keep getting better older they get. RIP Jim Varney, you amazing comedian.
I spoke to Cree Summer, the voice of Kida, recently and I had to focus every atom of my being in order to not cry. I love Kida so much!!
"The journal is his gift to you Milo. Atlantis is waiting." Said in a tone that is as loving as a family member could've said. Whitmore was definitely channeling Thaddeus in that moment
"Giving me Journey to the Centre of the Earth vibes." The ship they are in, the Nautilus, was the ship of captain Nemo from Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea. Which was written by Jules Verne, the same author as Journey!
I believe the ship in Atlantis is actually titled The Ulysses.
I'm so sad that Blondie had to die and couldn't be redeemed AND allowed to live. They tried to make a TV show sequel and she would have really made it. Instead they compiled the pilot episodes into a direct to DVD movie.
I agree! She was a really interesting character. Not pure evil like the Commander. You could tell she cared about people and she was having conflicted feelings about what they were doing. I hope the live action remake has some redemption for her.
@@lilscenechick1995 there's gonna be live action now?
@@lilscenechick1995 She was voiced by Claudia Christian, best known for her role as Commander Ivanova in Babylon 5.
@@neasulavuori4955 There have been rumors for a while now. Nothing is confirmed but I mean, knowing Disney, it’s only a matter of time. I hope it’s as good as Maleficent and Cinderella. Or better.
Her name is Helga btw ;)
One of the best and most relatable things in this movie:
"What's Mole's story?"
"Trust me, you don't wanna know. Audrie, don't tell him. You shouldn'a told me, but ya did. And now I'm tellin' you, you don't wanna know."
This is one of the best Disney movies ever made in my opinion and I think it rivals The Lion King. This movie came out during Disney's Dark Age and so it doesn't get much attention and I wish more reactors covered it. Kida is an amazing character and she deserves so much more respect than she gets in Disney marketing.
She should be called a Disney Princess. If Elsa gets the title she should too.
funny they stole BOTH Lion King from (Kimba the White Lion) and this Atlantis from (Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water) nearly shot for shot....
As a Pocahontas girlie growing up, this movie has me in a chokehold. So happy to see you react to it!!
The first time I watched Avatar, I instantly thought the plot was very similar to Atlantis, but longer, way longer 😂. So it's fair to say that Atlantis is the original Avatar 👌🏼😂
Can you react to "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron"? It's a story about a strong, beautiful horse with a spirit that can never be broken. I cry every time i watch it! 😭💔🔥
I second this!
film bodies me everytime i see it
One of my childhood favorites that absolutely changed my perspective on life. Such a good film with a fantastic soundtrack. It’s a masterpiece imo.
Pleased to hear you recognise the voice talent of David Ogden Steirs ( sadly departed ) the voice of Cogsworth .. he also voiced Ratcliffe the villain in Pocahontas 😁 Great reaction 👍🏼
Mrs. Packard is God tier of "I don't give a fuck"
I am fairly certain this movie was maybe inspired, definitely influenced by the 1994 Stargate, which (if you haven't seen) I highly recomend you watch, I think you'd enjoy it
Kida awoke something in me as a 7 year old boy in 2001 😂😂
And this is my favorite animated movie. The art style, pacing, setting, characters etc. Everything’s basically perfect.
I love that bond that forms between Milo and Kida.
There was going to be an Aladdin-like TV show where they go about the world picking up Atlantean artifacts (It became a straight-to-dvd movie). But unlike Aladdin, Kida would have been the action girl because Milo has a "diminished physic and large forehead suited for research" but he would be able to be the planner and brains. They didn't do it because the era of Saturday cartoons had just ended. It would have been cool to see another kick-ass princess.
Kind of miss Saturday cartoons. There was something satisfying as a kid to get up Saturday morning and watch a show you've been waiting all week for. Now I have nothing to look forward to on Saturdays but more sleep and hoping people leave me alone.
Michael J. Fox is the voice of Milo in the movie
25:54 This perception is exactly why it failed, unfortunately. People think animated = for kids so adults take no interest but nothing in it appeals to kids either.
Sad thing is, Hunchback had come out before hand and I'd argue that isn't technically for kids since it deals with very realistic adult themes that makes your skin crawl as an adult.
36:10 "He seems psycho"
You think that's psycho, wait till he turns blue
There was a sequel to this, and I remember it being really fun, if you wanted to give it a watch. _Atlantis: Milo's Return_ is the title. Same characters exploring some other legends around the world. Apparently it was intended to be a tv series, but they ended up just compiling some of the ideas into a movie, so it kinda feels like it has three separate parts to it. Still a fun story though. Interesting to check out.
They did something similar with Tarzan if i'm remember it correctly
Atlantis: The Lost Empire and The Road to El Dorado are the first films that always come to mind when discussing amazing films that somehow slipped by a major box office moment due to another insanely huge film hitting cinemas at the same time.
17:28 “That’s a bit problematic!”😮
😂 so much meme potential!🤣
Omg that cook is the opposite of the cabbage guy 😂
Thank you so much for your commentaries. I know you might hear this a lot but, you've become a comfort youtube of mine. You have such a soft tone and excitement when watching anything that makes me so happy. I often re-watch your videos because they make me smile or help me get through a tough day. This video was no different. So thank you! This movie deserved some love and you gave it that and more!
"I haven't seen a kids film where so many die?"
Conviniently forget the people in the opening sequence that literally was locked out of the barrier and drowned or was crushed to death.
I love this movie growing up along with The Road to El Dorado. I actually witnessed the creators making Atlantis: The lost Empire at Disneyworld back in 2000 when I was 5 years old on vacation. They had a tour showing what's new coming for Disney and Atlantis was one of the creations along with Fantasia 2000 and Lilo and Stitch. They were showing the illustrations and designs for everything. So, I'll always have a soft spot for this movie. They even had a mini art class project for the kids to draw Stitch and teenagers could draw Mole from Atlantis.
Atlantis is like… my favourite Disney movie. It's so under appreiciated. Loved your reaction!
No way! I love this movie! I'm still so upset this movie didn't do well when it was first released. I remember watching it and loving it to bits, but my peers didn't even see it. Love that it's getting more attention among reactors on YT. Another movie with similar animation style is Simbad & Treasure Island. Both really good movies!
What is so crazy to me, is that all the information that they use about Atlantis is exactly the right data that we have in real time so it was cool to watch them play out a story that comes from fact as well
I also believe that avatar did, in fact take a lot of inspiration from this movie
I absolutely loved this movie growing up. Glad you enjoyed it. Was so sad to find out later that this movie didn’t do well. Like why? It’s awesome! Really helped me with my mythology craze growing up.
Oh, I am really looking forward to this one! This movie made me realize that my type is a tall, lanky, glasses wearing, shaggy haired intellectual dork 😂 (I say this with love being a dork myself)
Oh I LOVED Atlantis The Lost Empire! That was one of my favorites back in the early 2000s. Another one was Treasure Planet. I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet but if not, it’s a must-see.
atlantis and treasure planet were my favorite movies to watch as a kid! im so happy that you chose it to watch!
I love this film. It’s one of those mistreated films by Disney, they do a lot of self-sabotage if they don’t think a film is going to “sell”. Yet it’s become something of a cult classic. Also, I grew up watching horror films, yet somehow when the Commander becomes that blue creature it always scared me 😂 It’s crazy how many horror elements are in this film. And it probably has the highest death count, if you factor in the expedition casualties and those who didn’t survive the fall of Atlantis.
Ahhhh this movie is AMAZING! it is something else. The animation, the acting voices, the treasure and adventure story telling is so well done. I hope with the time ppl could appreciate more this movie. Kida scenes with the heart of Atlantis are my favorite parts. Good job Oscar 😊
This is my fav Disney movie!!! Just started your channel yesterday with your avatar the last airbender reactions and live action Cinderella! Atlantis was one of the first Disney movies I watched around 5 so it’s very nostalgic as well lol
You know, the sad thing is that Disney REALLY wanted/expected this to be a big box-office smash. There was a video game, tie-in comics, tons of marketing.
“Dang lightning bugs done bit me on my sit-upon. Somebody’s gonna have to suck out this poison. Now don’t everybody jump up at once.”
there's a lot of star power in this movie. Michael J Fox, Jim Varney, Don Novello, Cree Summer, even Leonard Nimoy
If you ever add a long-running sci-fi series to your roster, do Stargate.
I LOVE this movie! The only reason Kida is not in the official Disney Princess Line-Up (and is actually the FIRST Disney HUMAN queen - as I consider Nala to be the first "coronated" animated queen, even though she's a lioness) is because this movie did not perform well in the box office. Really makes you think about the others in the line-up. If their movies had performed poorly in the box office, they also would not be official princesses.
This movie was definitely ahead of its time! Kida has always been my favorite Disney leading lady! Cree Summers' voice is truly perfect for this role.
One of my top 3 Disney films (alongside the Great Mouse Detective and Rescuers Down Under)
The Great Mouse Detective is great have it on DVD. Also love both Rescuers movies.
Atlantis and Road to El dorado are the two most underrated animated films in my opinion. they both are like at least in the top 10 best animated movies, but nobody talks about them ever!
You made me so happy with this reaction. This was my favourite movie as a child and I still love it to this day. It's such a good story and really gets you hooked from the first second. Also, I love Kida.
I think the only other disney movie with even more death is Mulan, nothing else compared to this.
This movie basically got me obsessed with Atlantis from a very early age. Probably around 9 or 10 at the time this movie came out. It awoke something hidden deep in my spirit, and to this day I still research Atlantis. I really feel like I may have had a past life in Atlantis, thats how connected to it I feel. I can't really explain it. Its fascinating that the original story of Atlantis was handed down over the millenia and survived. The most famous example of course being when the Egyptians told Plato about Atlantis (or his grandfather? Dont remember exactly) and then Plato telling the story to his students 2000 years ago. Crazy to think that even during Platos time, the story of the fall of Atlantis was supposedly 9000 years old. Which now would make the story approximately 11,000-11,500 years old!
"Tell Cookie to melt the butter and bring out the bibs, I want this lobster served on a silver platter." is such a great line.
Like a lot of folks, I had a fascination with Atlantis growing up. The idea of a civilization with advanced technology lost to a cataclysm and forgotten by time is truly incredible in every way. Needless to say, this movie is in my top 5 for animated movies. It truly is a chef's kiss in terms of quality, story, pacing, and everything in between. The imagery is magnificent, and it truly shows what dedicated talented artists can achieve when they set their minds to it. While it may not have hit it big like other classics, it will absolutely stand the test of time and inspire generations to come who have a passion for adventure.
The sequel sadly was given to the B-team and doesn't come close to the same level. It falls short in all respects as far as animation, story, and overall quality. That being said, I would at least recommend watching it at least once. While nowhere close to the same level, it does at least entertain and brings the group back together for another adventure, which is nice if for nothing else besides nostalgia.
This was 1 of my favorite childhood movies still rewatch it every now and then
grew up watching it and love it
OMG!! u should totally watch Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron!! 100% a worthy Dreamworks watch and my all time fav movie
One of my favorite movies, loved it since I was a kid and I'm glad whenever I see someone discover its joy and beauty.
The action scenes in this movie are vivid memories of my youth. My family had gone to see some life-action flick, and I went in to see this one.
For live-action movies, Iron Will's the vivid memory. It was the first time I'd seen something in the cinema and the races there are very well shot.
Glad you enjoyed this one. And, yes, I agree re movie being a bad motivation.
This experimental age of Disney is just so amazing and I hate how little these films were appreciated when they came out which incidentally impacts their reach even today. This is by quite a large margin my favorite disney film and easily in my top 5 animated films period.
At my age, I immediately recognised Vinny's voice from the original SNL crew. Don Novello is a comedian who played a priest named Father Guido Sarducci on the show, with about the same accent.
He also published his collections of prank letters under the name Lazlo Toth.
One of my favorite Disney films (easily top 5). 13:08 After the writers got finished with their last film (Hunchback of Notre Dame) they had lunch discussing what type of movie they waited to make next as they had also made Beauty and the Beast. Adventure films like that is what led them to make this!
Love Atlantis the Lost Empire. Audrey is a very cute character and the youngest character. Now react to the sequel.
Oh man this movie is so cool and do fun, the characters are all memorable, I love this movie.
Great movie, great reaction. So many great voice actors in this. James Garner, Leonard Nimoy, Michael J. Fox, John Mahoney. Probably more that I am not recognizing. Thanks so much for this blast from the past.
This movie, Lilo and Stitch, and the original Beauty and the Beast are my favorites Disney movies.
this was such an underrated film. its beautiful and touching and a wonderful, artful story.
That last scene where it pans out, was called the most difficult scene in all animation by the directors. The last frame uses 18000 inch paper! This a great adventure film with amazing character details. For example, I like that Sweet opts out as soon as the king is injured. Kida may not be a Disney princess in the franchise, but she is a queen 👑💚 the crystal monster is the stuff of nightmares!
18000 inch paper? That would be 1500 feet. That's over 1/4th of a mile.
This is one of my favorite Disney movie as a kid. I was honestly obsessed about the idea of Atlantis existing in some part of this world, because of the influence of Nat'l Geographic Documentaries about Ancient Cities. I also didn't know that it wasn't as popular as the other Disney movies, this was frequently shown in Disney Channel, at least in my country, and I always watch it in full every time it airs and so I thought it was as popular like Emperor's New Groove, Treasure Planet and the likes. Rewatching this with you made me realize that this is more of a mature content than for kids esp with the deaths. I didn't even notice that back then.
But anyway, I've been seeing so much of your reactions and just realizing that I haven't subscribe, LOL!
Fun thing: when I saw Quaritch in Avatar, first thing that came to my mind was “oh, this dude is much alike Rourke from Atlantis”😁
There is a part 2 of this movie called Atalntis 2: Milo's Return. Another GREAT movie you should watch for an underrated kids movie is Road to El Dorado, stunning animation, sweet soundtrack and honestly kinda creepy in sections for a kids' movie. One of my personal faves as a kid that would still watch today is called The Pebble and the Penguin, a creative musical with great characters and parts that younger kids would find scary.
I agree, it's truly phenomenal
Yes it's Michael J. Fox! So happy you recognized his voice😊
I somehow didn't know Milo's voice was Micheal J Fox until like.. the last two years 😂 even though I love this movie. I've always loved this movie. Milo was definitely my OG animated guy crush 😂😂
Also pretty sure Kita's dad is Leonard Nimoy? Which I also didn't know until recently 😂
Dead "my cabbages!"
This is definitely a movie I could sit down any time and watch. And I don't have a lot of those movies
The way I giggled in excitement when you said you were looking forward to a "light adventure film", knowing the epic journey you were about to be taken on.
I love Milo's humility about the world not needing another hero.
Decides to take an opening in Atlantis for an expert who speaks gibberish.
Fun fact, the voice of Kida's father was Leonard Nimoy (the original Spock).
If you like the look of the technology, you might consider Disney's original "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea."
Attention. Tonight's supper will be baked beans. Musical program to follow.

What a great time! 😊
Damn I rarely see any reactions about this movie, even though it's an awesome Disney movie, but gets forget a lot.
Such an underrated movie! When I was watching this reaction, I kept marveling at how great Michael J. Fox was in the role too--just so naturally charismatic and expressive. I can't think of anyone in the current younger generation of actors that has that same level of effortless charm. This movie is just such a fun adventure and deserves more love and attention than it gets.
I know this is Disney *No Pixar, don’t worry, it happens*
But one of the greatest movies you have to watch is Simbad, El Dorado, Prince of Egypt and Treasure Planet! Those are the most underrated movies of all time!
You won’t regret it! 😁
this movie was my whole childhood! the animation, the story, the jokes! it was an amazing movie and i LOVED it as a kid
There was a canonical comic book prequel about the hunt for the diary and sequel where Rourke came back with a significant part of the crystal's powers and a massive godcomplex.
Easily one the most criminally underrated Disney films of all time, if not the very most.
Milo and Kida are just goals!
It's such an underrated movie. This is one of the few Disney movies that I would actually love to see a live action remake of..
Atlantis, Treasure Planet, and El Dorado are such underrated movies! They were all considered flops in the box office, but they are such fantastic movies! I am so glad that you love this!!❤❤
The start reminds me of the speech at the beginning of the Stargate movie.
I want to talk about how GENIUS the Crystal was in foreseeing its way to saving its people, protecting everyone against Roark and even the volcano eruption and reclaiming its place above the city. When Kida turned around and told Milo that all would be well, I don’t think that’s Kida talking. I think that’s the CRYSTAL talking to Milo through her and was already confident that all would work out because it has been observing everything through its people.
(And I’m sorry for the nerd theory dump but I have to put this somewhere. Warning for a long comment. If you don’t care, carry on.)
First, when down in the cave, it merged with Kida in order to remove her from her hostage situation because Roark and the others are not gonna damage the crystal they are working so hard to get. It turned red and freaked out when Roark kicked the pebble in, sensing his intent which is what triggered the merge. It also protects her as the last remaining royal host that the crystal has because it no doubt already senses that the king is dying from internal bleeding, barely hanging on by a thread from his own crystal that he was wearing.
Crystal Kida also then goes with Roark’s crew WILLINGLY, and I thought that was stupid as a kid but now I realise it’s to protect the remaining citizens from harm. Even if Crystal Kida is powerful, the people are not. Like Kida said, her culture was dying. They have forgotten their knowledge, their language, probably their history and have long forgotten how to use all the crystal technology they have lying around. To engage in hostility at that point, with Roark and all his guns and bombs, would’ve been suicide so the Crystal just decides to go peacefully with Roark.
But no worries because the Crystal can also sense the King’s intentions. It knows that the King is probably planning on passing the responsibility to Milo, the only one of the invaders who had shown them respect since the beginning, and it also knows through Kida’s eyes that Milo knows how to read their knowledge and will no doubt teach he others how to use their technology again and bring Crystal Kida back.
It also already probably knew that Roark and the others were going to escape via the volcano from when Kida was scouting them out at the beginning so the Crystal was not too fussed that maybe the people would be too slow to get it back. If the volcano did end up erupting from their rescue attempt? No worries, the Crystal already factored in that the golems from the beginning of the movie would be there to protect them.
And finally, even if the Crystal could’ve maybe just blasted Roark and Helga in basement and make the remaining men lose morale, because let’s be honest we don’t fully know what powers this Crystal has, it most likely still wants to resume its place above the city. So it foresaw its subsequent kidnap and return and let itself be taken so that it can also get out of that cave. It would’ve returned to the sky with or without the volcano eruption.
And that is how this Crystal played 5D chess in planning out how to keep Kida safe, reduce casualties to a minimum, kickstart the people relearning their culture, predicting its own rescue and potential worst case scenario eruption and returning above the city where it belongs. The Crystal didn’t even break a sweat. It meant it when it told Milo to not be afraid. Everything turned out well.
If you want more you should check out Atlantis Milo's return
I love you reactions bro! ❤ es increíble… gracias por compartir
Atlantis Treasure planet and Brother bear are my favorite disneys and they are so underated the story is so good❤❤❤❤
Something curius about this movie, at the time 4:56 some strange fishes appear in the fish tank, they are strangely similar to the relicant fish. The curious part is that by the time this movie came out the relicant was thought to be extinct because there were only fossile records of its existance, it was rediscovered years after this movie came out. So the one who designed those fish was literally looking at the future.
