    If you’re wondering what Mickey’s saying at the beginning and end of each talk, it is:
    Jai Guru Dev, Jai Masters. Jai Guru Dev is a traditional Hindu phrase that means Glory to the Great Teacher (the most accurate translation would be glory to the shining remover of darkness), where the great teacher here is generally considered to be the Divine Soul, while we, as human beings, are considered the individuated Soul. Jai Masters means Glory to the Masters, some of whom Singer refers to at times.
    Thank you for visiting. Peace, my friend.

    I've listened to Micheal talk about this and understand what he's saying. Unfortunately there are some experiences that are something we don't like and aren't good for us. Other's we do like, but can't hold onto. It's true that you can relax in any situation and torture yourself less, but not resisting can also lead to bad things. It does make sense not to torture yourself though.

      “not resisting can lead to bad things?” I think it’s more of a matter of practice. I don’t think Mickey means for us to be a doormat, I think the more we practice letting go of Ourselves, we get clearer in our divine wisdom and discernment. With those leading us, I certainly believe nonresistance is the supreme answer to a life free from blockages and self-suffering. It’s definitely a journey and work in progress for me but just wanted to drop my 2 cents

    Please explain Michael. You keep saying that you put the negative in your mind.
    How can a 5 year old who is living in a toxic environment, is putting or allowing the negative in their mind?
    I dont think a 5 yr old has that choice and this is when the roots of the thinking processes are being established. It becomes very difficult but not impossible to break the negative as an adult.

      It's at the bottom of the description, an FAQ on what he is saying at the beginning of each talk. This question is asked by at least one person on every new video 😂

      Jai Guru Deva, (victory to the great teacher)

  • @jane1842
    @jane1842 Před 25 dny +1

    But WHY has the human mind developed the proclivity of keeping things inside even though it’s torment & torture? Also what we keep falls in similar broad categories as “humanity” therefore can we ever achieve what Michael is saying on every level of our being???

      It's an adaptation accumulated over the millennia, as the common explanation goes. Being more sensitive to negative outcomes means a better chance that we will do something about it. Sadly, evolution isn't a goal-directed, perfection-seeking mechanism and so we ended up with a negativity bias that can often run bonkers if unchecked by spiritual practices, which are really just the mind training itself by gazing at itself.
      It's wild when you think about it.

      Its our lizard brain. We've evolved past it. But haven't learned to tame it. That's what this is teaching.

    • @cherryonion
      @cherryonion Před 25 dny

      Also, achieving a peaceful relaxed state of mind is less of an achievement and more of a continual practice. Something we are always working at and becoming better at. It's not some big AH-HA moment. It's a slow cultivation over our lives.

      The ego is supposed to be a tool to the soul and it stores negative and positive experiences as data to use to make present decisions. The past experiences design is to take the info as learnings and then take the present situation to see if it applies. If so no need to reinvent the wheel. When the past doesn't apply it doesn't know what to do it defaults to risk avoidance. Same is true of positive experiences the ego only knows was was good in the past and seeks more of the same. It's a habit machine that can help us learn and grow but has to be managed by the soul else it will default to only that which it knows as this feels safe, but in reality this keeps one in loop.

    • @AdrianMark
      @AdrianMark Před 25 dny +2

      It's called negativity bias and it was a much needed survival mechanism from our evolutionary past. If you didn't store trauma, you were likely to end up being hit with it again, since you would not be afraid of the thing happening to you. But in the modern age, where it's unlikely that you'll be jumped by a tiger in the jungle, we end up storing nonsense like things people said and unpleasant experiences which have no value.
