- Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today Kosmo and I are trying to use all the explosives we have created in order to mine out a bunch of new stone and metal areas! We haven't tried explosive mining before and we're really curious to see how well it goes!

I started explosive mining like a month ago and there are certain ways to make the explosion radius bigger. I can usually explode nodes with 1 or sometimes 2 depending on the size. Tips, don't put them in the ground or the node, making the explosives free floating doesn't change anything. The best way is to put them is in the middle of nodes not inside of anything and with that you can get entire nodes in 1 or 2 explosives. Putting explosives inside of things only explodes that thing and not all the rocks around it. GL Explosive mining!
Maybe try placing the explosive on a glitched lift that can go underground, activate the explosive and lower it under the rocks.
I double that. I guess you could experiment in creative or mod survival if you don't want to spend the time collecting resources.
I'm pretty sure it would work!
Considered the Explosive Radius of Explosives aren't affected by tile/ground clearance (as dictated by the many examples in this video), I'm confident you could box the Explosive with easily sacrificial material, glitch it under the world with yourself, and then shoot it whilst underground to detonate it, and then the Explosive would force everything to glitch onto the surface. Simple!

The explosives should completely demolish all rock structures down to the unrefined rods, in my opinion

Yes, so do I. For me, all the arms changed right after I installed the [test] version. I had a raid the night before and all the scrap metal bars on the ground turned white.
So did I, but they turned back to normal after I dropped them. Just like a temp texture bug.

The multicoloured hay bot spines are a bug with the paintable bots for creative that will be patched or fixed with the next update

YES!! I've been finding white haybot legs all over my world, I was SO confused, I hadn't played in a while, so I thought I painted them a long time ago (I thought I was going insane, why would I go out painting haybot legs?), but I found some more WAY far out. And I checked, I couldn't unpaint them. I think it's just a new feature.
After watching your previous episode prepping for this, I actually tried this out, more of for the underground stuff. Gotta say it's a great cleaner for the resilient (needs a drill to break) chunks stuck under. I'd stick with just drill mining the surface and then cleaning up with the explosives. The explosives seem to disregard damage threshold (aka how many chunks it'll break) when the blast is carried underground. So I'd say do a combo of both. Clear out with the Bobcat and then clean up with the explosives. And honestly the small explosives seem to as good of a job as the large ones, so there's that as well.

I had that thing with the white hay bot arm too. If you pick it up and place it again, it will be orange again. It's just a bug, which appears while updating to the test version.

Explosives are broken after 0.5.0 devs said they will fix it with next part of 0.5.0 for test branch
Btw there's no moon at night because it look is a spoiler for the plot. Code for sun rotation around the sky is there it's just doesn't get used.
The explosive damage makes no sense 😂😂 to think a explosive role of tape for the red tape bot does more damage than a actual explosion 😂😂😂
Theory: due to the fact that a red tape bot (so an explosive bot?) shoots it at you, the velocity factors into the explosion
The red tape bot does the same amount of damage as a small explosive
I wouldn't be surprised if most of the damage for the red tape comes from just the tape hitting you rather than the explosion itself.
All haybot arms/spines that were loose turned white for me after going into test branch. You can also paint bots in survival. They don't fight with each other but you can paint them. Regarding the one hit kill bots it seems it only works in certain areas. I didn't test in which ones but it worked next to the trader and on the road between packing stations. Didn't work at mechanic station and in burned Red bot a bit further after 2nd packing station.
also what i pictured in my mind with the exploding the bombs by the rock is just like the explosions are so powerful that they just break to the nodes and the nodes just fly everywhere

Yes i found white haybot too. It seems they spawn around the ruin buildings. My fear is that they could cause lag if you don't clean them time to time

Base building build to the other tree, build a dock, build another build platform like the one you use, build like a kitchen or like a living space, build a automatic farm planter.
There shoudl be a long pipe from the craft bots to the poop farm that will transport the Cardboard So you coudl re-fill it Automaticly
How to access a dev play area: (save your world first) just use the /recreate command. Then go explore the southern area of your map. I had a new peninsula that had nine ruins and a farm all packed into about one cell. They are so close together that you can jump between ruins on the upper levels. I am pretty sure you normally only get one ruin per cell. The cell to the east had two bonus farmer resort areas (the areas with several farmers that you normally only get one of), and the cell to the west had a chemical plant and a couple more ruins.
Beyond that (further south) was a new island. A fruit packing plant, a vegetable packing plant, and a mechanic station, all literally adjacent to each other. These are the third copies of these in the world - the first two of each are still there. And across the street was a new building that I have never seen before. You cannot enter the new building or interact with the new building. There was also a tube dump site, a second trader with mountain (!), and a second space center all on the island.

Yea, there are a bunch of white haybot arms in my world. Every haybot arm I have is white for some reason but it looks really cool.

Hey Kan.. little tip, when u want to go underground, u can use ur toilet, hold left click and drag it to the corner of the lift, press up, then let go of left click.. its more resource efficient and more time efficient, u can do tgat with blocks, but if u delete anything, it will fall

could do a minor upgrade to the bobcat to make it work even better. mount the drills on soft springs.
this way they follow terrain and also absorb the recoil when rocks crack.

Since it seems like you can only get 1 node per explosive, I wonder if you could make explosive mining /slightly/ more efficient by using the small explosives. Also, I curious what would happen if you set up some explosives under the map, to mine the base of the nodes before the upper nodes. Would it be more or less effective and would the upper nodes be more vulnerable to explosives if they're no longer welded to the ground?
Yeah I've seen the white haybot arms and I'm pretty sure it's because it's been left for so long that the paint has faded and it's rusted a bit

You should make a huge cargo plane
GAS POWERED STICK - Never runs out of gas!
You should make a gate for when you build your fence around your farm
Try doing with small explosives might be more resource efficient
kAN dont worry about it man. when you pick up haybot arms they are white but if you placed some on the ground before the test branch update they turn white
I am also on the test branch and have found multiple of the white farmbot legs they turn back to normal if u pick up and place them again

good response to the mid-quarantine vacation. if only hammering people off of a treehouse for breaking quarantine was viable and legal in real life, we might have gotten the pandemic under control a long time ago, simply because people would face the tangible consequence of being yeeted out of a tree if they broke quarantine. I think that is someting even people who don't care about threats they can't see will agree would be unpleasant to experience
you could make a special wall around the crops that kills farmbots so you can farm crops without the wory of raids and you get a free 'farm bot' farm out of it

I played scrap mechanic with my friend, and I found a white hey bot arm and I was amazed what scrap mechanic did
player: kills farmbot with 2 explosives farmbot:dead explosion can kill an player also player: needs 9 explosives to sleep forever
