yea but don't just go to queenstown tbh - its cool but very touristy. the rest of the south island is less touristy, arguably prettier and more of a representation of aotearoa. Or the east and very north of the North Island is also amazing due to the large presence of Māori culture.

The Wakasas is the only family where the parent plans such wild outings! 😂 the DWE gene is strong. But being afraid of something and doing it anyway is so relatable because I’m not fearless 😂
Also, try to send the airline a note about the person who helped you! Even without her name, you can describe her and give the date and what happened. That can be helpful for their job.
I envy you for having such an amazing family in law with whom you experience so many new things. i haven't tried even half of those and traveled way less and your life honestly seems like the dream.

i know airlines can sometimes put passengers on standby due to overselling seats on the plane, maybe the bag check argument from the front desk was an excuse to say that the flight was too full 😭 but i’m glad the kind lady helped you out and that you got to enjoy beautiful NZ ❤️

Something that I just wanna throw in is that if you want a summer, beachie holiday in New Zealand it's the best in the North Island only 'cause it's still relatively cold in the South Island and there's A LOT of beaches up here. I feel like the South Island is a great winter holiday spot.

Oh, I'm glad that you were able to get a seat on the plane ❤ When I'm traveling for a long time I'm feeling so exhausted, I think I would have been crying non stop if this happened to me too. But I'm glad everything was OK in the end. The bungee jumping was sooo scary even just looking at it OMG ~

They might have thought you were "skip lagging" or "hidden-city ticketing." Some people book flights with layovers so they can purposefully arrive at the layover stop and not take their connecting flight, because it can be cheaper to do that for certain destinations. Since you didn't check in your bag they probably thought you were bouncing out of there (which is stupid, you still ended up checking in for the flight!)
That’s exactly what happened. And it’s actually against their rules and conditions.

Your laughter and storytelling takes some of the pain away. I’ve had horrible flight and travel stories too - got kicked off a flight because of my citizenship (they decided to give my spot on an overbooked flight to someone who was more wealthy and white-passing than me). It’s never a fun time.
