- I filmed this video quite some time ago. It’s funny to see the direction I went from here. But as a newbie to the hobby this provides a very basic demonstration or the differences. Mainly posting this for a history of my RC progress.

I just picked up an Everest 10 and I absolutely love it. It's a great first time crawler and is highly upgradable. The E10 is not that great looking but it really preforms well. Great demonstrations and tips about weights.
Hey dude I’m glad this video helps! Enjoy it, tune it, love it
I got into rc crawlers lately, it’s a lot funner than I thought it’d be. I prefer trucks that have worm gears because it makes the movements so precise and not jerky
Oh yeah for sure! I love the hobby wing fusion motor for that exact thing. I prefer to slow crawl.
I have both and they have there place. The Everest 10 and the Gen 7 have a high center of gravity. And. tire diameter makes a huge difference. Just depends on what scale terrain to vehicle that I am driving on that day. Either one is a great choice, get both. Take all that weight off the roof, that helps on the Gen 7.
Yeah they are a good entry level truck, stripping down the Gen 7 is totally the way to go, which makes it look like the sport version. But it performs better! Thanks for the sub, I hope you find more useful content on my channel! 👍🏼
Do you have to get shorter shocks for conversion from 10 to 7? E10 are long at 130mm
this is an awesome video for these 2 crawlers
Thanks man! It’s crazy the love this video still gets!
Thanks!
Nice video. I am debating on which of these two models to purchase. I am leaning towards the e10
Thanks 🙏🏼 I would recommend going with the Gen 7. There is a lot more you can do to it to gain performance over the e10
Wow, you posted this yesterday and I Googled it today, nice! I kind of like the more realistic/scale/challenging pro, but I'd like both. ;) I'll bet removing just the spare tire from the rack would help quite a bit. Have you done any testing without the body on it? (update watching the stripped down video now) I'm considering the cheaper Ridgerock, and putting more into a primary rig. As long as it climbs steps I'd be satisfied. My first rig is going to be a stock HGP407, and I'm considering a TRX4 Sport or faster short course build.
Haha that worked out! Looking back (these videos were filmed months ago, but didn’t post till now) if you want to get into crawlers I would take the Gen 7 for sure. I haven’t ever messed with the faster trucks tho.
I just purchased both.
Both eh? Why both? :)
@@HobbyDrop I have two sons that asked for a crawler for Xmas. One wanted a true looking crawler, and the other wanted a crawler that looked like a real truck.
I found these on Amazon, such a great price. So I’m doing research on these and I came across your video. Which was PERFECT to see what I got. I’m impressed by E10. What a bang for your buck!
@@tacodaddy4309 ahhh very nice! Well I’m glad my video helped! That’s awesome. Thanks for commenting. The kids will love em.
would u recommend the redcat gen 7 sport which is $199 or the e10 which is $180. I know with the e10 you can lower it to help the center of gravity, new tires, and a new motor to make it faster is they something you would recommend
I would probably go with the Gen 7. I think you will hit a performance wall sooner with the e10. I know as I continued to motify the Gen 7 it would out crawl the e10.
Just got myself the Everest 10 , things I’d like to do first is make it faster , then a different body and tires
Tires are always a good first improvement! Adding weight inside the wheels was pretty good too!
I put a 20 t motor on my everest 10 and it really woke it up. At least twice as fast as it was.
Was the rear steer hard to put in ?
No it wasn’t hard at all. The axel already comes with a mounting area so I just bought a kit online and it came with everything else needed (wires, servo etc.)
Once again.. Tire size and articulation is insanely important to crawling. I keep seeing this cheap little Everest 10 owning other higher end crawlers simply because of those two factors.
Yeah it doesn’t pretty good, ultimately the high center of gravity is its biggest downfall.
I knew the everest 10 was way better im in the top of my mod class with a e10 just by using a dig transmission and 4ws. Even TRX4s can't touch it.
Dig and 4ws? Nice!!
Yeah the gen 7 is a nice looking truck but it isn't in Same class as the everest
Yeah it’s really not. I did get the Gen 7 to perform better than I ever got the Everest tho 🤷🏻♂️
Wow fast response there ..really you got the Gen 7 crawling better then everest? Hmm I have taken my everest into some crazy stuff n i
@HobbyDrop lol my dog came n laid with me n hit enter before I was done texting but I was gonna say I have put the everest to the test n doing some tuff crawling making it twist the front n rear axles to the extremes or to the far reaches of the articulation n I have some thing simular to Gen 7 truck style n everest with the big tires n if I slam the body down lower it will go where I can't get with the scale Truck but it's a idk brand so may be ill have to look at the Gen 7 closer after I get done building the drag car I'm gonna try n use in the king of the streets this year I still have not got it together the guy I bought it from stripped all the parts out so I have only a roller n well its a long ways from where I need it to be n omg it's almost Feb n I still have not done one drag run practice so I don't know if the motors I got are gonna do OK or if I gotta do some more math n order new motors n gears then I gotta fix what this guy did to chassis b4 he gave it to me n I don't know if I got my esc programmer in new storage or if it was left behind at old storage n my chargers are broken so I can't even charge a 2s 100c 5200mah lipo
@@jonarseagenxuav yeah you know to be fair I striped the Gen 7 down so it was “scale” looking. I mean I’ve got videos on here. But switching to an axial was a pleasant improvement.
I haven’t ever done any fast RC stuff. Drag seems expensive 😂
