    I've been saying this for 2 years now. Giannis story and criticism are almost identical to what LeBron went through. what is even more crazy is in 2013 fans were saying LeBron couldn't be the best because his post game wasn't as polished as Kobe's disregarding the production LeBron consistently put up with a "limited skillet". Kobe was on a struggling Lakers now flash forward LeBron is in the same boat as Kobe was, and his fans are saying Giannis can't be the best because he doesn't have a polished outside game. now i understand what my uncle was saying , the league is just one long cycle that each generation is to blind to see they are apart of. in 10 years there will be a 7'2 demigod, who Giannis fans will say can't be the best because he doesn't have (insert skill that Giannis has mastered) yet. And the 7'2 demigod will have fans saying that doesn't matter because his production is equal to or greater than that of Giannis.

    Absolutely spot on!
    Last year, I was flabbergasted to see how people handled, appreciated and assessed Giannis' Finals performance.
    It was absolutely legendary, historically great, yet its perception indicated that people were not so much in awe about it.
    (For the record, he had the highest Game Score (31.9) for an entire Finals series, beating O'Neal's 2000 performance (30.6) which most people consider one of the most dominant ever)
    He's so unique and unorthodox that people can't handle his greatness, they can't put him in any box, so they find all kinds of ways to discredit him.
    If he were to go 7-0 in the Finals in his career, all with the Bucks, 7 FMVPs, he would still not be as popular and as appreciated as Jordan, Kobe or Lebron. The marketing behind him is not as strong and his game/brand doesn't resonate with people the way Jordan's, Kobe's or Lebron's did.

    You can make some of those arguments for Jokic as well. He may be a better shooter than Giannis but he's not super athletic, he's slow and yet calling him the best player in the world shouldn't be a shocking take.

    These older guys who played in the 90's n 80's wouldn't last in today's game. Too slow n use to standing around the paint unlike today where every position matters. One wrong move at the 3 den it's over.

    Although I prefer KD in terms of a forward type player, Giannis has indeed improved a lot of his skills in recent times, and I can confirm that he is no longer just a run-to-the basket player using his height. Use the doubt of others as fuel! ask Demar DeRozan; it gives you a little more motivation, in overcoming all expectations, I can see Giannis is using this boost well.

    • @isaiahdanz3308
      @isaiahdanz3308 Před 2 lety +2

      But I don't see him win anymore titles, last year he and his team had a chance and won-only because many teams had many injuries in the 2020-2021 season.

    • @Chessbox09
      @Chessbox09 Před 2 lety

      Yes, agreed. Giannis' skillset has taken a quantum leap this year. Is midrange/post game has improved dramatically. He's shooting 43% on midrange jumpers as well.

  • @cbgthekid
    @cbgthekid Před 2 lety +1

    Giannis and LeBron are two different types of players. Giannis plays physical and drives to the paint through guys, he doesn't avoid contact, he can play back to the basket and has more then 2 moves on the low block, to top it all off he's an elite defender in a era where playing defense is much harder because fouls get called a lot more. Not saying Giannis is better then LeBron, but his game translates to the 80s and 90s much much better.

  • @infinitrixtv5847
    @infinitrixtv5847 Před 2 lety +1

    That's the reason why Lebron and Giannis are the best players because they proved to their haters that they are wrong, and never care about anything they say, they show it on their games. 🔥✨

    I gotta say I went back and watched Lebron in the 2016 Finals and (athletically speaking) Giannis is another level, he might have the quickest first step since MJ but he’s 6”11 with a 7”4 wingspan and his dribble drive moves are like LeBron’s on 2x speed. I’m not saying I think this Giannis is a better basketball player than prime Lebron but in terms of athletic freaks Giannis is like the next huge jump. Over the last 30 years it was MJ then Shaq then Lebron and now it’s Giannis who’s a combo of all of them.

    • @Chessbox09
      @Chessbox09 Před 2 lety +1

      Keep in mind Lebron in 2016 was already 31, he wasn’t in his athletic prime anymore, but he was still as athletic in 2016 i don’t know what you are talking about, after 2018 yeah Giannis definitely more athletic, but before that Lebron was a bit more, especially between 2005-2014.
      Go watch 2009 Lebron (his athletic peak IMO), he was 24 years old, 6´9 250, faster than Giannis, and way more skilled. Or watch 2013 Lebron, who was 270pounds, and still super fast, Lebron in 2013 was the best transition/fast break player ever with 1.44 points per possession, and he was a monster in the paint on both end.
      Young Lebron was faster, stronger, bouncier, and Giannis is almost as fast and strong, but he is taller and more lenghty, but even now Giannis is listed at 243pounds, Lebron was 30pounds heavier than him in Miami, with a 44inches vertical, he was Zion Williamson with elite work ethic and skills, prime Bron still the most athletic ever IMO but Giannis is really really close.

      @@Anthonydu01630 Lebron is absolutely more skilled than Giannis but less be honest…. 🤐Giannis has already surpassed any version of Lebron when it comes to finishing and defense. Oh and Giannis has yet to play with another superstar. He’s only had an all star in Chris Middleton. Hasn’t play with anyone on par with Wade or Ad. Just putting that out there 😉
