      Check out Rock Climbing & Alpine footwear. They are narrower, harder, with edges; so they can bite into the terrain. It’s counterintuitive but it works

      Rams are the reason , some scientists think Pachycephosarus do head butting behavior. Did to the dinosaurs more flexible necks it has been suggested the butting was less head to head and more head to flanks or sides. Giraffes do this type of butting. It is more consistent with bird matching dances.

    In some domestic breeds the young rams are tethered in pairs by a chain and collar 2 metres long, this prevents them from getting a run up when they head clash, the shortest ram usually breaks the taller rams neck

      They’re prey animals; a slotted pupil gives them a wide-angle view of the horizon to look out for danger. The slit actually stays horizontal when they move their heads.

    A few years back I went on a trip to Banff with my mom and her boyfriend and we had gotten a rental car. We were in the downtown area when we came across a few bighorn sheep near the gas station. We were so scared that they were going to ram the car lol

    Sore mouth decease killed a lot of Bighorn in Colorado back in the 80's and 90's and just decimated the numbers, due to over population, if we had more predators it wouldn't have been as bad. We still need more predators due to the amount of hooved animals we have in the Colorado wild.

    We were actually on a road trip from North Dakota to Las Vegas for a family emergency and as we were driving there was a group of at least a dozen on the side of the road not giving a crap about traffic lmao. It made the car ride a little lighter cause I hadn’t ever seen them in person before.

    The State has reintroduced them to the Catalina Mountains here in Tucson. We are hoping that the jaguar will return as the apex predator to feed on them and have healthy populations of both some day.

    Great video but my understanding is that two rams running at each other at 35km/h would be the equivalent of a motorboat hitting a brick wall at 35km/h, not 70. The reason is that the force is shared between both rams. With motorbikes the rider takes 100% of the force.

      To put it another way. F=ma. In both cases the rams or the bike rider are rapidly decelerating to a speed of zero. So the forces are the same.

    I live in British Columbia, and we sometimes get them around the Fraser Canyon. They’re cool and sometimes graze by the less busy roads and campsites. They’re really cool to watch
    But also scary, I’ve seen a ram charge and take out a Honda Civic that honked at it to move out of the road
