Learn how to give your ferret an oatmeal bath
Ferrets don’t need to be bathed often. This is because they do a great job at cleaning themselves. bathing a ferret to often can cause irritation to their skin and However, there are times when you will need to bathe your ferret. Over bathing can also cause your ferret to over produce the natural oils on their skin, which can actually cause their musky smell to be worse.
It is recommended you only bathe your ferret when necessary and no more than 3 times a year. When giving your ferret a bath it’s important to use a shampoo that is safe for ferrets or specifically made for ferrets.
You can also use regular oatmeal and give your ferret or ferrets an oatmeal bath. Just make sure you don’t use instant oatmeal.

So funny. They feel happy after taking a bath
Super useful video as always! :-D
Hi! Might you also recommend adding a bit of organic/natural pastured milk with the oats?
I've always wondered, why oatmeal/oat milk? Is it because it provides a soothing property to their skin?
Hey I know you said you don’t like using chemicals on the cage, a good natural cleaning agent is white vinegar and lots of small pet owners use it 50/50 with water to keep smaller animals safe and clean
The look so tiny when they are wet.
Can u plz tell me the name of that cage and how much does it cost? Plzzz i rlly need to know
It’s a Double Critter Nation, it works great for ferrets, but if possible I would try to get the Ferret Nation. Both the ferret and critter nation are pretty much the same except the space between the bars of the ferret nation is wider than the spacing between the bars of the critter nation and the bars on a ferret nation are vertical, so the ferrets can’t climb it!!! The double cage cost about $250 and you can get it from Amazon. The nation cages are made by MidWest. Heres a link to the ferret nation:

My ferrets use there litter box but also go around it on the same level and we clean it everyday. I wanted to use the liners like you have in video but figured they would just get it dirty everyday! Any advice ?
I have attached a link to a video that goes over the things I did to litter train my babies. czcams.com/video/Vh5Sp17XV6c/video.htmlsi=YkX5NooRja3zsY-J
My ferrets are really good now about not going on the liners or anything they see as bedding, but they do have accidents on the floor every now and then. They also will not use a litter box if it’s been used more than once by another ferret, so I’m constantly scooping the boxes in their room.
I’m not sure how old are babies are, but it can be harder to litter train them the older they are, but as I’m sure you know, ferrets are smart (sometimes to smart for their own good 😂) and there are definitely older ferrets who have picked up litter
Thank you so much for your quick response and great video. I let mine have free roam couple time a day because we have dogs. We separate them during this time. Your videos are awesome and very helpful. I have the same cage you do only theee levels high. I put a litter box on more than one level and they only use the one level the other they like to play in only.
Where did you get your cage liners from?
I made them. I also sell them on Etsy.

How are ur ferrets doing ? It's been a few years since this videos take care of them
They are doing really well for the most part. I just recently posted a CZcams short on each ferret. Weasel has lymphoma, and his sister Lucy has adrenal disease. He is on daily medication and she has an implant to help manage the adrenal. Unfortunately we lost bear last July to an extremely rare vaccine reaction. We were at the vet when it happened, but this was a reaction that only occurs in 1 out of every 10,000 ferrets and no matter what the vet tried they couldn’t reverse the reaction. (There a video on my channel about it). It was absolutely devastating.
Also, since this video I have also gotten some new ferrets and I really hope to start making videos more regularly again soon.
I'm sorry to hear that, I also lost one of my ferrets due to insulinoma, she was on medication and treatments monthly for 2 years until she was just to weak and Had to be put down. Her name was Tiny, I miss Tiny she was a good girl
I heard your not supposed to rinse them off.
Vick V I ended up not rinsing them off. I should have added that in the video. But that’s the reason, I only had video of them in the oatmeal bath 😂. They stayed super soft for like a week!
