Been with Keto for 2 weeks - been eating Eggs, Bacon, Butter, Avocado, and Tuna in Oil - and lost 4 kg. The first 3 days was really a struggle due to the Keto Flu. I’ve really experienced fatigue at work (like I have never slept for a day) and brain fog since my body was just starting to adjust from the deprived and very low Carbohydrates. But was worth it in the succeeding days.

I love how knowledgeable this video is! Never came across such good and short summary of the keto diet. In general the basics of a diet! Yes it's up to everybody to choose which diet they want to try. But for me the keto diet is the one I enjoy the most. Thank you for all your efforts and recipes!
I lost some weight, but most importantly I reversed prediabetes with the keto diet. Actually, you do not need to eat excess amounts of fat. I have never been overweight, but cutting my carb intake, even more, caused me to lose more weight than I wanted. So now I had to increase the fat a bit more in order to maintain my weight stable to at least 110 lb. The most important thing is to watch the carbs, mine was not too strict, I afford myself up to 50 gr, but trying for less. My fat intake went up but no more than 10%. increase with moderate protein. I am eating beans twice a week (in small portions). I am in ketosis, not the highest, but I do not care. It has served me well. I also exercise more and only eat twice a day. I do not count or write down anything, but I learned and researched well and I read labels all the time (I do not think you need to do all this work). Just know what to eat, and learn to read labels and the hidden offenders.
Watched tons of keto videos but only Erwan offers the most practical take on the subject. Makes sense! Thank you! And more videos please!

I'm convinced the Keto diet has saved my life. Thirteen months ago, after years of being a type 2 diabetic, my a1c level had ballooned to 13.4. That's despite taking two different meds to control it. I started a ketogenic lifestyle with intermitant fasting and within 4 months, had reduced my a1c to 6.5 and just two months ago, got it down to 5.6 and was taken off my meds! A happy by-product was a 70-pound weight loss.

Just a tip I’ve picked up; just because it’s a high fat diet doesn’t mean you want to eat extra fatty items. You want to burn the fat you already have instead of the fat you’re putting into your body. I usually use lean beef only and try not to eat many fats. Fat bombs are a good thing on this diet as well since it “kick starts” the fat burning process. Thanks for the informational video!

I started Keto along with intermittent fasting three days ago and ready to go a long way ! I used to crave really badly all sorts of cereals (rice, pasta and of course breakfast cereals) and restricting them was really hard for me. Not consuming them at all might be the answer for me ! can't wait to see the results ! I am just a little worried about how much fat I can consume, I am scared to overdo and have too much ! anyways, I want to loose 5 kg and I will loose them !

@@ahct83 currently trying cyclical keto/carb cycling. Used to be on keto 16:8 and it worked, I've lost 10kg in a month, however I got stressed out a lot because as an Asian, I always crave rice.

Diets come, diets go...and I'm already into my 6 decade, let me tell you eat wisely and balance and look like me 20 years younger and stay away from sugar, corn syrup and processed foods and you'll be ok.

It's weird, but I am doing really well watching these videos, it's like it gets my mind off the fact that I am not eating, and makes me look forward to when I get to eat again. @@niqueadams8679 that's fasting :-D not that difficult and actually pretty healthy. I would suggest fasting once or twice a year for 2 to 3 weeks. But educate yourself on how to do it properly and talk to a doctor before your first attempt.

Just want to let anyone who is thinking about trying keto know, there is NO limit to the protein you can intake. What is described in this video is therapeutic ketosis which is really only advised for people trying to correct issues within the brain. Recent studies have shown conclusively that as long as your fat intake is appropriate your protein WILL NOT be converted to glucose more than what your body needs to function. The fear your going to eat protein, convert it to glucose and therefore throw yourself out of ketosis is unfounded if you are still eating enough fat.
I struggle a lot with getting enough fat in comparance to protein, so the 80% fat and 20% protein he talking about is mainly for what you said?
@@FreekillGaming Yeah, there are therapeutic benefits to help with brain imbalances when ketones hit a very high level. That requires about 80% of the diet to come from fat and under 5% from carbs. If you are just looking to feel good in the body and try the diet for weight loss protein can be a much larger piece of the puzzle. Personally I usually register between 1.5-2 mmol/L which makes me feel great on about 60% fat, 35% protein and 5% carbs. Keep in mind it is based on calories, not grams. Fat is 9 calories per gram, protein and carbs are 4.
So where does the protein go. Glucose fructose dextrose en ketones are a fuel source. Which organ is able to store all those proteins because you surely don't burn them

I used to do the keto diet (when I didn’t know the name for it) but I have cheat days and it still worked for me. I basically did about 5-6 days a week keto, and 1-2 days cheat days, a week.
