  • Aleks and Eli travel deep into the High Uintas in the search for Sasquatch. While Utah might not be the most popular state for Bigfoot researchers, reports have come out of the area. While hiking into their campsite they have a strange experience, could it be the elusive creature they're searching for?

I used to work with a guy who was a serious, deep woods backpacker. He lived for hiking and backpacking, whether alone or in groups. He had been doing this for over 30 years when I met him. I once asked him his thoughts on bigfoot, and the “no bones” debate. His response was that he had an open mind about sasquatch, as he had experienced some eerie sounds out on the wild that he couldn’t identify, and were unlike anything else he’d ever heard. But what he said about bones was the most interesting to me. He said that in all his decades of being in the wilderness, he had only ever come across bones twice - a small deer and a marmot. That’s it. Nothing else. His take was that he didn’t know if bigfoot exists or not. But that using a lack of bones as an argument against it was laughable.

Scavengers feed on the dead, that's why bones(Skeletal remains) are rarely ever found but piece by piece, a single bone here or there. Only takes a couple weeks for "nature" to claim anything that's fallen on its surface. It's why humans have always buried their dead, to keep the body sacred and whole for the afterlife. Not consumed and scattered by animals.

I also have a very open mind about Bigfoot and although I've never seen one, believe that there is something out there. But I also have been hunting in the Utah wilderness all over the State for over 30 years and have seen countless deer and elk bones all over the place. Never any bear or sasquatch bones unfortunately though either. But this dude claims that he's only seen bones a few times just sounds crazy to me. Im not sure where he's been snd if possibly there are just not many animals in those areas but i highly doubt that as well. Im not knocking anybody just thought that seeing bones 2 times in Decades just sounds wild to me with how many i have seen. Be safe out there Squatchers and good luck!!

I’ve been in the forest in the middle of the night pitch black! And saw a floating whispy ball of light at first I thought it was a jogger on the path but the light kept getting higher and higher into the trees and strangely it was avoiding the branches zig zagging between them like it was something physical I was up in a treehouse platform about 20 feet off the ground and I watched this ball of light float up to me it stopped about a foot from my face hovering against the tree trunk 20 feet up with me. We were about a foot away the ball of light next to my face I couldn’t stop watching it like I was hypnotized by curiosity. I had the strangest feeling that it was just as curious of me as I was of it. I asked the girl I was with..”are you seeing this?” And all she said was “yeah ball of light” and after that we just watched it float away disappear into the darkness. I think about it all the time it was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced. I wanna go back into the forest and night and see the balls of light again.

The swaying back and forth is a practical application to see better in the forest. When you’re surrounded by trees you can try this yourself. Simply look as far ahead as you can through the tress standing still then try swaying from side to side while looking in one direction straight ahead. You can actually see more depth and more accurate perception by swaying and looking straight ahead. It’s not just a species thing it actually helps to see better throughout the forest… try it !

Great series. Love it. I love observing how Bigfoots behave in the wilderness. Unfortunately what ever Bigfoot is (years ago I used to think it was just a flesh and blood hominid), it knows everything that is going around it and it’s almost impossible to film it(except very rare occasions). By the way guys we have to remember that is a massive Bigfoot presence where people live. They can also be “observed” and “studied” near all those neighborhoods that have an adjacent tree cover. Just one simple example is Fresno CA, and it’s outer neighborhoods. Everyone there knows that. And obviously it is not limited to California.

I think it’s the same reason you don’t see deer antlers everywhere. Deer shed there antlers every year but other animals chew them up for the mineral content that they possess. Like coyotes and wolves chew on deer antlers so maybe it’s the same thing with Bigfoot bones. Just a thought. Really love the show!! My son was stationed in Kodiak Alaska he was in the coast guard. We went a couple of years ago and was fortunate enough to see a Kodiak bear! That thing was huge! It happened so quick we didn’t have time to get a picture so I can understand how hard it would to get a picture of a Bigfoot if you’re not ready. He has since retired and lives in Utah at Bear lake now not to far from where you are filming. Keep up the great job guys!!!!

In regards to the old "but if they're real, we'd find bones" argument, I'll submit this: in nearly 30 years experience hiking, camping, backpacking, and fishing all over the northeastern US both in Scouting and my own leisure time, plus having worked for 15 years for a County Parks Department, I have seen thousands of whitetail deer, thousands of Canada geese, dozens of coyotes, some elk, some black bear, and even a mountain lion. Of all of these live sightings, the vast majority of remains of large mammals I have seen in the Northeast have been designated areas in the two county parks I worked in to deposit bodies of deer struck by vehicles on park property. I will tell you this. You would be flabbergasted by how rapidly even a fairly sizeable deer can be reduced to some hair and scattered bones. I have personally witnessed over the course of two and a half weeks a doe weighing about 160lbs going from fully fleshed to a spine, about half the ribs, and part of one hind leg. Soft tissue, which makes up most of the mass of a large mammal, goes alarmingly quickly. Between insect activity, microorganisms, and most importantly, the activities of other animals, nothing much gets left behind. The body cavity gets opened and the organs go first, naturally, but as other parts like legs, the head, shoulder blades, etc, are able to be chewed off and carried away, opportunistic scavengers like foxes, coyotes, badgers, raccoons, opossums, skunks, mustelids (weasel family), etc will carry off what they can rather than feed at the carcass. Smaller omnivores like mice, voles, even squirrels and chipmunks will come and gnaw down the bones for calcium. Especially in winter, when everything not hibernating is in pure survival mode and every creature is looking for nutrition wherever they can get it, you'll even see nominal herbivores like other deer gnawing the bones for calcium. Give it a month or two, you'll have to know where the carcass was and even then you might find a handful of bones. And this is in the Northeast. I can imagine in a wetter environment like the PNW where most sightings occur, it's an absolute rarity to find any sort of animal bones. So in answer to the question "where are the bones" from someone who knows, they're scattered, scavenged, chewed up, digested, and otherwise completely dispersed. In short, just by nature, they're gone.

Thank you, that was not only fascinating, but well-written. And with bigfoot, they would obviously take care of their own by either burying or carrying their own off to the dense forest where people never roam. It is silly how people tend to use the "no bones" argument. Thanks again!

My wife and I were backpacking in British Columbia many years ago. We were about 5km from the road on an old gold-rush trail that had not been used much in decades. As we hiked we started feeling uneasy, like someone was watching us. It was very uncomfortable.
A little further up the trail we came across huge bones, laid out on the trail. It looked like possibly a horse and the bones were bleached white but placed together in a line on the trail, with long black hair/fur on the ground and on the trees nearby. Ok. Now we were getting spooked. We hiked another km uphill and the feeling got worse. Finally we couldn't continue and turned around. We were tired from carrying heavy packs so we stopped for a rest on the way down.
That is when the forest went dead silent. All the sounds of birds and animals ceased. We were sweating and tired but we put our packs back on and headed out. The feeling that we were being watched was unbearable.
Fast forward 25 years and we were hiking in a different area of BC. As we were heading down we met another hiker who told us he had hiked on 3 continents in that week. He then told us a story about a hike he had done in British Columbia in the past. He said he packed into a spot where we had originally planned to camp all those years before. The weird part is, he hiked in from a different direction that we did and planned on coming out via the same trail we took. He said he got part way down and became totally freaked out about feeling like he was being watched. It was so bad he turned around and made a twice as long hike out by his route in. It was only after his story was finished that we told him about our experience. We are intrigued but not enough to return...

@@larrypero5233 The problem with people on the Internet is that they don't do enough research before they say something. They go off of headcanon and things they've heard before not thier own research.
      1. They Cross Roads in order to get to Forests on the other side and are intelligent enough to notice glaring headlights coming towards them and they are no stranger to things like cars not to mention they also go after Roadkill as a source of food.
      2. Fires can completely incinerate bones and when animals are burned up in forest fires there's a chance the fire will consume everything. Not to mention you've never seen any animal be burned up in a forest fire so how can you say anything about Bigfoot ?
      3. Primates carry their young on their backs or in front of them holding them in their arms, so it makes sense that the footprints of the children wouldn't be found. Plus there was some footage that was taken a while back that's supposedly depicted a baby Bigfoot.
      4. The Sasquatch is an elusive animal and they actually travel in groups but far behind each other or in the same area. To keep up with each other they use Howls for long-range communication and tree knocks for short-range. Also humans are primates but are perfectly fine with living alone, so one as intelligent as the Sasquatch should be able to do the same. And the reason that no one has sicked a dog on the Sasquatch footprints is because in nature the ground won't always be suitable for footprints, there are fallen leaves twigs and weeds that get in the way of footprints and maybe even their scent but most of all Footprints are most frequently found in mud that has a lot of other scents mixed and and ha the scent diluted with water.
I can't prove that sasquatches exist and I'm not going to try to convince you that they exist, I'll just say that I believe in them and as a result I do my research.

They seem to have ways to detect our presence regardless of the measures we take. Every device we take in the woods is going to need electricity & they detect. I’m not sure if some of the more advanced trail cams can go completely dark & switch on when motion is detected. The jacked up aspect of this is you still need to place them. I’m sure they can tell if people have been in the area & if they don’t want to be caught on camera it will be found 50 yards away & crumpled. Lastly they watch anyones movements if we encroach on their territory. It’s a tough nut to crack. Go out with every piece of tech and they pull a no show. Go out there with nothing & you might see them if they initiate? ,
