    Hey, because therapy is now geared to standardized test. Can you both play more videos doing more of these tests? 2 min walk, BERG, stand up and go, sit to stand test, 6 min walk functional reach? I see you have done the POMA / Tinetti and I appreciate! Oh can you do physical mobility test? It is so nice to see whole test being completed by another professional bc some people do variations. Thank you I am. PTA and on addition to CEUs and re reading material I am subscribed and look to you when encountered patients I may needs refreshing on i.e. Parkinson's pt's! Great job guys Keep it up!!

    I'm a new grad from PT school, and continue learned a lot from you guys! (especially therex). How often do you both like to use outcome measures with your patients? I haven't been using them very often but feel I should start to.

      Yeah, using a muscle energy technique where you isometrically contract your hip extensors against an oppositely directed force can help to even out the pelvis.

      Are you struggling with this problem? If you had a therapist help you he/she would stabilize the contralateral ilium to prevent that unwanted rotation from happening.

    i've been treated for early TOS (HEP & MFR), but now get rinding in my ear. Is is because my TOS symptoms are still coming up on/off/

    Just thought I'd mention when you spelled the name of the test out on the video, you spelled it incorrectly. :)

    I am a PTA.
    I work in assisted living facility.
    The work day is fast and the PT's are extremely busy.
    They write STG's to improve the tinetti test.
    I assume to cue them during there gait and work on balance exercises.
    This is what i should be doing correct?
    Also confused on "foot drop" .
    I mean, i know what it looks like when the full ROM happens. What about partially?
    Also confused on trunk sway

    Do you automatically remove three points for having a walker even if they don't need it during some parts of the test? Also if they regularly use a walker do you ask them to walk with it during the ambulation part of the test?

    As a recent graduate from PT school, I use this outcome measure a lot in my SNF. When performing this test, is the patient allowed to use an AD for ALL components of the balance section? (Sternal Nudge, EC, 360 turn) Thank you!

    • @jasonjerome8740
      @jasonjerome8740 Před 11 měsíci

      I'm a PTA with 5 months experience.
      I don't use the AD during those scenarios.

  • @peacewellnesshealth8995

    Should we do this test with one therapist or two? So if patient falls, there is people around.

    When you do this test and a person wears AFOs is the test done with or without them? Also if you find a person has a fall risk, then what? What to do?

    I feel like i have an imbalance of my body...my left side seems longer then right side.How do I make sure that. can u recommend a test?

    • @ericdeleon7555
      @ericdeleon7555 Před 3 lety

      get into a long sitting position and look at where the bottom of your feet are. If one is shorter than the other then you do in fact have an improper alignment somewhere in the chain. Something like this can happen from a fall or landing on one side with a lot of force.
