Out of all the possibilities "Jack the Signalman" could mean, there was no innuendos to it possibly meaning putting a hydraulic lift under a guy and raising him up 3 feet to check his undercarriage. . . .or the other innuendo. That's a weird reality. Some how the alcohol kept you guys PG. Had this been an OG Tom Scott video, there would have been at least 5 minutes of banter about that and about another 40 minutes of other content that would have to of been cut out.
Needless to say, I love this series (3/4 of an Idiot) because I learn so much. The steam age was the peak of discovery, ingenuity, and Darwinism. Hearing how the big boys (both figuratively and literally in some cases) died like men is fascinating. It's cool to know when things went to plan and also when sub-optimal mediocrity was successfully overachieved (a more flamboyant version of "went poorly".)
