      +davenicoll43 The ear plugs are speakers for ATC and intercom. Not so much blasting loud as much as you need to hear exactly what is said and the second it is said. This kills outside noise and allows you to focus.

      +davenicoll43 We were in CANADA during the Winter Time. Until the Engines get started, we have NO HEAT in the cockpit. It takes about 4 minutes to Heat the Cockpit once the Engines have been started from the BLEED AIR. We can get it as Toasty as we want to after that.

    @DavethePilot  Před 11 lety +1

    Very Easy... I have a 4 place intercom box that I use with the OUTPUT into a Digital Recorder. I bring home the recorder and then MATCH UP my talking with the GOPRO video. It is just too loud in the Metro to have the MIC of the GO PRO or any attached MIC to the GO PRO pick it up... PLUS you wouldn't be able to hear Air Traffic Control either....

    In you opinion, is it true that metroliner is very hard and very demanding to fly? And it doesn't have tolerance for engine put during take off? Or they just talking rubbish? Which one better, metroliner or 1900 for the pilots and passenger?

    • @MasterCarguy44-pk2dq
      @MasterCarguy44-pk2dq Před 7 lety

      The smaller passenger corporate metro Merlin II & III are good. Same for the metrolibers. They are difficult to fly, but fly better, farther, faster, on less fuel and most ch. ore reliable engines. Plus much more room in the flight deck.

      +RotorFr3ak He is not the instructor. And you do know when he was touching the left hand side, he was keying the radio. And on take off both pilot and co-pilot hold the throttle. Incase a fly runs up you nose you wont jerk the throttles back and crash.

    • @DavethePilot
      @DavethePilot  Před 8 lety

      +Naked Acres Sorry Naked, you are wrong again. I AM the instructor for the flights with all the new First Officers. They come to our company generally with only 300-400 hours of TOTAL TIME with their Commercial Instrument & Multi-Engine ratings and we hire them and train them with all the Systems in the Metroliner as well as how to fly the ATC system up in the Flight Levels.

    Hi Dave, thanks for your video, I wanted to know how cost a type ratings on that plane and how many hours to get it ? Last question, Do you think the carrier is finish for the Metro ? Thanks again !

    • @DavethePilot
      @DavethePilot  Před 5 lety

      Yes, you have to get a type rating for the Metroliner. I took my type rating training at FLIGHT SAFETY down in San Antonio Texas. It cost about $20,000 for the type rating and it was paid for by KEY LIME AIR who is based out of Denver with 25 Metroliners. Good place to work. Hope this answers your questions...

      Thank you Dave for the answers !
      For the rest, Do you think Metroliners are now becoming too old airplanes ?
      Some pilots used to say "King Air are better choice" than the Metro which are too old planes for investing my time, money and energy... ???
      What do you think Captain, is Time really over for Metroliners ? Do I have to look for an other type rating ?
      Big thanks !

    • @DavethePilot
      @DavethePilot  Před 5 lety +1

      @@louisferdinand4014 NO, I don't think so as the Metroliner can hold a whole lot more then the King Air. The King Airs are about as old as the Metroliner. The type rating for the King Air is NOT NEEDED because anything below the King Air 350 is below the 12,000 pound limit. Anything OVER 12,000 pounds has to get a type rating. Most Metroliners are either 14,500 or 16,000 pounds and that is why you need the type rating. I think you will be able to build time in either of them. I'm not sure what you want to do with the Meteroliner. Are YOU trying to purchase one, or do you have a company that is trying to purchase one? Are you trying to build Turbine Time in it? Let me know and I can answer you further.

I'm a Training Captain for New First Officers to come to our company. YES, the aircraft can be flown Single Pilot which I have done on many times. You have to be Certified by Flight Safety to be Single Pilot Qualified.

      Ah, but the metro goes much farther between maintenance checks, burns 15% less fuel and cruises 25kts faster with more range. It might not be pretty but it's a good airplane with my ch more reliable engines than the PT6-A's in Beech 1900/99!'s or King Airs.

    • @Bartonovich52
      @Bartonovich52 Před 5 lety

      Yeah.... no. If Garrets are so reliable, why are there NONE certified for commercial single engine IFR operation. Ask an AME which one he’d rather do a hot section on... or a pilot what he thinks about the NTS on the PT6.
      Burns less fuel because and goes faster because it’s a tiny airplane.., even a C model is roomier than a Metro. Doesn’t have a hope in hell of making field performance, climb rates, or single engine performance of the 1900... safety and performance > fuel burn every time.
