    Hospitals are so short staffed right now, they'll hire you the second you pick up the phone when they call you, they're begging for staffing.

    • @NursesToRiches
      @NursesToRiches  Před rokem +10

      Lol, if it were that easy then I would never receive a single email, comment, or message from nurses asking what they should do because they haven't gotten a job in their hospital of choice. I mean, it took me 8 months to get into the Kaiser system and almost 1 year to get a job New York Presbyterian in NYC.

      @@NursesToRiches Well it's likely because they're applying for positions that just got filled and have no need now.
      I was an interim hiring RN manager on a step-down unit during 2020-2021. Now im back doing my RNFA duties. We have had multiple admin meetings throughout that time to which we were all told to hire RNs on the spot that applies; over a phone interview. That's how short staffed we were and still are.
      So coming from an admin view. Those comments of people not being able to find positions are likely exaggerating or the positions the applied for have been filled likely by travelers and cannot hire staff until their contracts ends, which i also had to do when i was admin as well.
      Every unit in our districts 3 major hospitals are running on travelers. Just about every unit is staffed 60% travelers which we are trying to veer away from as much as possible.

    • @NursesToRiches
      @NursesToRiches  Před rokem +8

      If you're talking about a hospital system like Kaiser, than the latter reason is more likely than the former. I've never worked at a hospital system that hires as many travel nurses as Kaiser does. We also have new grad residency program that typically gets 1,000 to 2,000 applicants biannually but 100 or fewer candidates get chosen.

    • @NursesToRiches
      @NursesToRiches  Před rokem +1

    Do you have any tips on getting as ajob grad at El camino. I graduating soon and want to know what I can do to prepare myself

    • @NursesToRiches
      @NursesToRiches  Před rokem +1

      Honestly getting a job in El Camino is not going to be any more challenging than getting a job at any other hospital. We have members in our Discord server who have worked there. But after seeing what Incredible Health does for nurses, I would say just make an account on their website, create your profile, select the locations you want to work in, and they will help you get the job.

    • @NursesToRiches
      @NursesToRiches  Před rokem +1

      If it were me I would be open to accepting almost any job offer given to me. But, I would also apply to nurse residency programs. Whichever, gives me an offer first is the one I'd go with.

    • @supreme5998
      @supreme5998 Před rokem +1

      It probably depends on the hospital. If it's a really reputable hospital then a lot of them require residency for grad nurses but if the hospital is not that reputable then it might be more beneficial to find another position.

    How much does Incredible Health take from the contract? What is their margin? Thank you.

    • @NursesToRiches
      @NursesToRiches  Před rokem +1

      I asked this very question when we had a conversation. And, they are not like the traditional travel agency that may receive a percentage of the billed hours, which may in turn affect the nurses hourly rate. Incredible Health is basically like the middle man and receives a fee from the hiring hospital-this is not a contracted position.

    • @redcapote4760
      @redcapote4760 Před rokem +1

      @@NursesToRiches So in other words, the hospital agrees to the fee should they hire you. I’m about to ask for my agency fee should I find myself my own job. But I had been wondering if something like Incredible Health existed. And I would be interested in seeing how they do for me. That said, I still have to imagine I’m losing out somewhere in the process. My business mind knows better.

    • @NursesToRiches
      @NursesToRiches  Před rokem +2

      @@redcapote4760 I had the same concern because I didn't want to promote a business where a portion of the nurses wages were going to the company acting as the middle man. That is 100% not the case and the reason why I support incredible health is because as a nurse you aren't signing a contract with anyone and all you are doing is creating a profile and submitting your interests for locations you'd like to work in.
