@@roblinnbailey2359 oh come on, that's like saying someone who sets up the tightrope equipement is far more talented than the man guy who walks across it. Besides, Coogan co writes.
This is a genial showing from Partridge, arguably the greatest of all. Going off the rails...losing it. Coogan really is a magnificent comedy performer
It holds up well even to me as a 24 year old born in 1995. Up the quality and I would assume this was produced this year easily. 1979 still seems like the stone age to me though haha
These segments are arguably the best Partridge's of all time. I've seen them all. I've laughed a lot, too much, if there is such a thing! I can honestly say, hands down, this is the video that brings me most joy. It's Alan, it's classic, It's live, It's hilarious, Michael's in it, sorry, Charity Charlie. Enjoy, but most of all give. Give to the poor ones not laughing. Laugh, but remember those not laughing. Just something to think about.
yes it would be superb. Did you catch Kate and rowan atkinson - czcams.com/video/bwG5AqZih8I/video.html ? - my favourite female vocalist - freddie being my fave male vocalist.
His mannerisms, tics and faux-pas looks are out of this world. So glad he made them all really his own, whether it's in IAP, MMM, TT, KMKY or whatever he's yet hopefully to appear in. It doesn't stale one single iota (or iotas - or exi, for that matter)!
Thank you for uploading the full version of this ... a heavily edited version appeared on one of the Partridge DVDs (cut presumably because of rights issues with the music).
There are those rare things in comedy (although my listing further on makes it appear they're not that rare at all), where you can watch, watch and re-watch a bit without tiring in the least, even laughing more and more each time round. The Simpsons, OFAH, Family Guy, Blackadder, Reginald Perrin, Dad's Army etc., but almost all of Partridgiana is the absolute and very top! All hats off, Mr. Coogan (and Ianucci, Baynham and Gibbons)!
On the original when Alan goes Into he studio to do the medley he asks the taxi driver to waive the fee for comic relief. When the Taxi driver says no Alan turns round waves his fist and says Y greedy bastard.
I wonder if he charged comic relief for that glow up between radio Norwich and the BBC studios Probably needed wardrobe to have a go at his weave after the buffering from the helicopter. Really makes you think!
Ricky Gervais is such a genius he inspired much better comedians to come up with original material so he could rip off for Americans to lose there minds to.
An interesting comparison between myself and Alan is that we both live in 5 bedroom detached houses with extending tables. I’m not boasting it’s just a fact.
Laura Caskey and also, on I'm Alan Partridge he used to say that she was 54 when talking about her running off with a younger man, a sports instructor. So the maths may work.
Classic, pre-Toblerone-breakdown Alan. Back of the net.
1999, wasnt this post toblerone breakdown? Think his breakdown was 1996 in between his firing from television and the first series? :)
@Frogsquatch Mk IIThey're all on the BBC gravey train!

I think Alan has got better with age.
I came here for the Kate Bush medley and Alan did not disappoint.
This feels like a dry run for Midmorning Matters. Just Alan waffling at length. Pure Partridge gold
Best thing I’ve experienced since Gary Wilmotts wedding.
12:04 even the crew can't take this gold
"Squeeze into Kate's bush." 😂😂
too funny ! Not her bush.. lol
The lovely Kate bush there…..the man with a child in his eyes 😂
Gevais and Merchant are very good at creating a character like this but Coogan is the absolute master.
With a bit of help from Armando Ianucci...........
David Brent is funny but honestly light years away from Partridge.
I love Steve but Armando is the real genius
@@roblinnbailey2359 oh come on, that's like saying someone who sets up the tightrope equipement is far more talented than the man guy who walks across it. Besides, Coogan co writes.
Very true. Brent comes close, but Partridge is the epitome of awkward comedy.
Can I just shock you...I think this is some of the best Partridge out there. Goodbye!

The song by Imagination really makes me reflect on the bravery of WW1 heroes

There is no better developed character in the history of comedy than Alan Partridge and this is Peak Partridge.
Peaktridge
Alan is the ultimate painful pleasure...
It's so painful to watch I can't stand it stop it please ahhhhhhhh!!!!!,,,,!,!
Sergio Lobato wow r u lynn the badger?
That Goldeneye jacket is so rad.
Oh damn I just noticed that. Need to cop.
That frustrated pen flick at 2.43 is fantastic

Never seen this before - it's quality Partridge, especially when he's making a balls of it and fluffing his lines. Just brilliant
Chris Feathers died.
Alan was born to present the one show!
Or This Time lol
In 1999 I thought 1979 looked like the Stone age.
Now 20 years later in 2019 this seems as fresh and funny to me as if it was made yesterday.

One of the best bits of comedy I've ever seen.
I agree. I've watched this quite a few times and always find something new. A bloody masterpiece!
This is why mid morning matters is my favourite Partridge. Steve riffing on radio whilst being filmed is just... mustard
And that's a relish!

I think he models the character on Richard Madeley...the comparisons are there..

I prefer his castrol oil jacket he wore to the head of BBC's funeral lol
