- We are using a bait cage that attaches straight to our fishing hi-low rig! All the leftover shrimp heads, clam and fish guts, will be put to good use. P.s. maybe consider using a stinger hook next to cage. In case large fish bites and tries to take the cage.

In Japan we use several styles of baskets much like you are doing with chum. We also use them with Sabiki putting tiny shrimp called Okiyami which is actually how Sabiki is supposed to be used.
Definitely not a scam I remember in some of your earlier episodes you made then with an old plastic medication bottle with holes drilled in and a similar rig and that worked really well so I imagine most feeder type rigs with chum will definitely attract more fish.

From where I am I wouldn't use this in fresh waters with a high concentration of bottom dwelling cat fish, but if I'm on a boat fishing for trigger fish, black sea bass, etc, oh it's on baby!

You’d lose a bunch of em around where I’m from with catfish. They like to hide in jungles of underwater wood

You can use the metal tea holders for holding chum…home ones made from aluminum screens..
Or just “palu “ ( Hawaiian word for chum) in the water every so often.
Made with bread, can ,mackerel and sand, crushed and mix..in a zip lock bag..
we have smaller ones in Australia called berley cages

Been using them for years in Australia you can also use a mushy burley consisting of chicken pallets tuna oil and bits of fish they work great
You can also buy them weighted and can be used as a running sinker so it slides up and down your leader or main line so many different types out there

We call them swim feeders..
Very effective. We tend to use fine stuff so as to not feed the fish, but to put the scent out.

I made something similar to that, using an old Pill Bottle. Just punched holes in the sides, and a hole for the line to go through. Didn't seem to help much. But maybe because my "Bait" was not stinky enough.
I made one like that before too! It worked well for me! Maybe it wasn’t a good day of fishing
