😂😂😂, I had to laugh too! Why do people question Chris about the fastest way to do it with the equipment available?? He wants to be done as fast as possible and has the years of experience to get that accomplished. Even Mike over at Dirt Perfect has realized the benefits of having a haul truck!
Watching the 550 and the 220 working together, looks like Mama digging up dirt, and her toddler "helping." The size difference of the two machines is very evident in the video.
The bucket is so big it dwarfs the bed of the dump trailer! It’s amazing you can work so precisely with that huge machine after such a short time. Kudos to you!
How Chris has not reached the 1mil sub mark is beyond me ….🤷♂️ This series should put him lots closer and hopefully help CottonTop3 also. Definitely put this one on the list to revisit when it’s full 👍🏼
That pond dam is huge, seeing the 550 at the bottom & 6ft David at the top really gives you a good perspective. Great work Chris, Robert & Tim. Take care & cheers 🥰
I like how you’re moving the dirt with the truck! Seems like the quickest and smartest way to do it. Dirt gets exactly where you want it to be quickly. 👏🏽👌🏽
That bucket is massive Chris. Three loads runs over on ole betty and is fast. After just a week, you can see a massive difference. The 550 is probably a beast to get used to with all that weight of the bucket, dirt and booms. The swing with a load of dirt could be dangerous for a rookie….😂
I just can't get over how big that bucket is and how much dirt it moves. You guys do nice professional work. I admire how easily you can visualize what needs done.
Enjoyed this pond! Unreal how much dirt that excavator can move. It's great to watch progress on your jobs. You have your methods and I haven't seen any other that has your know how. Chris, I've enjoyed watching your channel ever since my oldest grandson (10 years old at the time) came to get me to watch you work your machines. He was fascinated, needless to say, I've been an 70 year old fan also! Thank you for the way you explain how to do the work at hand. Don't ever change! I'll see you in the next one. 👍🇺🇲🙏😎
I think around 21:53 is about the one time you get a perspective of how big that pond dam is, whenever the camera operator went up on top and was filming you packing in the front face and how it made the 550 look (at least a little bit) smaller than it is. That's a huge pond dam.
A very nice BIG pond dam. The 550 sure makes the job go much quicker. 3 to 1. That's an amazing big bucket. I get the feeling you are loving this new excavator.
Chris has learned over time which way is the easiest or less costly. That is a big deep hole - that view from the dam makes the excavators and dozer look like toys in a sand box.
Chris I bet after running this 550 and you get back into your 220 it's going to seem like you're in a mini and probably going to feel like it's taking forever to move dirt. 🤣 Thanks for sharing 👍 I appreciate it. Take care
Boy, Barney is doing a dozen elephants job moving all that clay and top soil. He's definitely proving he's worth every penny Chris paid for him. Gonna be kinda bummed when this paon build is done. It's definitely been an interesting one with the 550 beast moving so much tonage.tokahe. This pond is definitely gonna be deep enough for good dive training and certification.
It sure is some hole. Huge project with great machines, skilled operators and smart planning; and of course fantastic filming. Every now and then comparative perspectives on size is evident. Thanks LetsDig18 it is a good one.
Can’t believe how fast you moved that much material, and your right the camera never shows the Big picture which just makes it that much more impressive 👍👍
Anyone that gets work done by Mr LD18 himself will be happy by the way it looks because he does the best work in the business, awesome work Chris, this series has been awesome to tag along, that pond dam is insane, is that topsoil on the hill where you an Robert filled in dried out yet since you put that corrugated pipe in, thanks for sharing an I look forward to seeing the next video 💪🇺🇲🇺🇲
Is he stocking dolphins or whales in the lake, cause there isn't a pond that deep. To see it in person would be great, but when the machine is in the pond(lake), you can see it's "HUGE". GREAT JOB AS USUAL.
Done several things in my life, look forward to your videos as much anything I've ever learned. It's like a job you can't wait to get to. Amazing times we live in, you make the most of it.
Now that's a good deep pond!!! This is the way they all should be down there in the south! From top of the water to the bottom in your hot summers their should be a 30 or more degree differ between top and bottom temps!!! 👍🏻👍🏻 Good for any fish!
Agreed to both of ya! Spring fed ponds are definitely much clearer. I think there could be a fair amount of runoff collected as well, so it might be muddy until it gets full and settles. It’s so deep it will be dark blue once it clears!

Chris it is easy to see the elevation of the pond (almost a lake) in comparison to when you see the D-6 on top of the dam wall and you digging on the other end the D-6 looks like a toy in the next county, and from the amount of dirt you have moved on this project is simply amazing this is the deepest pond since I've been watching your show (close to three years and counting) if I had a pond dug by you I would want 16 feet one one end and 4 feet on the other and at least 3 acers with no less than 6 trees per acre (my dream pond) 🙂🙂...
I feel bad for Chris thinking of him going back to using his 250 on normal jobs. I think he is used to filling the transporter with ten buckets with his 250. He was overfilling the transporter with just three scoops with the 550. It's going to be a huge transition!
@@2xKTfc time loading, unloading and moving tracks for transport/work would take too long to justify. Unless of course he finds much bigger jobs to make it worth it

I know it is hard on your equipment but I keep hoping I will catch you cleaning large rocks from a site again. Even needing to go as far as renting that machine with the jackhammer end. Just liked seeing how the rocks broke and you moved them about.
That is amazing. The size of that bucket when you dropped a load in front of the camera! I still have problems wrapping my head around just how big that behemoth is. Looking forward to the next steps. Hopefully you'll have some help putting in the overflow and doing the next-door pond. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
