British chicken too Pap🙂🐔 nice to see. I find myself checking products containing meat now to see the country of origin the meat is sourced. I once bought some chicken slices from Iceland, and the chicken was from Brazil!? I've always checked since. Support our farmers! greedy gets
I do appreciate it when they use British chicken mate, so that was a plus point for this product. Just looked at the Asda can and it says the chicken is from Brazil, the mind boggles!
Using the much cheaper Asda version I made 4 pies using a tin of chicken in white mixed with a tin of mushrooms a bit of salt n pepper in 4 ramakins with Just Roll pastry my family really enjoyed it
I'm sure they did mate, those tinned mushrooms are handy for a few things. I have a can in the cupboard that I'm thinking of doing something with :)
Wow!... £4.25 for that Papp!... That's ridiculous my friend... At least Dick Turpin wore a mask while robbing you!... 😂 My solution for anyone watching this out there... Is to buy yourself the 295g tin of Batchelors Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup for £0.80... (which tastes amazing by the way Papp)... And either save enough Chicken Breast from a Sunday Roast Chicken Dinner... And place it in the fridge overnight... Or buy yourself a pack of the Asda Just Essentials Cooked Chunky Chicken Breast 240g for £1.99... So for just £2.79 in total... You can make your own version... Weighing in at an impressive 535g... Many thanks for the review Papp... It's very much appreciated my friend... All the very best... Cheers mate. 🍺
Indeed all the money Rick with no real difference in flavour compared with the cheaper ones. I have tried that soup and agree, it is nice. When I was young, sometimes I'd take a stock cube, add water, then add some cornflour to thicken it a bit, white pepper, and chuck some chicken into it, seemed ok at the time!
@@Papparoni 😋👍
Christ almighty £4.25p for that and pink chicken seriously? M&S should up thier game for that price holy moley
Couldn't agree more James!
Blimey , they do a whole cooked chicken in Tesco for that price , 🤫 🐓🐓🐓
Indeed they do Malcolm, far better value :)
I was hoping at that the price, you would have found that the white wine sauce tasted different than all of the others. Not so then but you needed to try it to find out. I have taken many of those asda chunky chicken tins on camping trips because they are nice and easy to warm up on a stove. Princes is expensive, when the cheaper ones taste just as good.
Indeed not enough differences to justify the price of this one Uncle. I like camping too :)
You could buy a whole medium chicken for £3.99 at Aldi i think. What a disgusting price to charge!!
Indeed Teagan, they are pushing it with this one!
Just dropping by with the 1000th view. Carry on.
Nice to see you Bob.
Ah a classic for sure (the music that is!). / Not tried this - not that bothered to be honest, would rather have their curry range! / Mark.
Good decision mate :)
Anyone of them would make a nice pie with some mushrooms.
Indeed so mate, they even said that on the front of the can.
I have a can of that in my cupboard. Years since I've had M&S chicken in white sauce. I was hoping that it might be better than some of their other stuff that I've tried recently. Don't get me wrong I still really like plenty of their products and buy them regularly. But I have found many of their ready meals and canned foods extremely disappointing from all the recipe changes. I usually buy Tesco's or Sainsbury's chicken in white sauce and mash the chicken up a bit while it's heating up. We enjoy it more like that. We like it with plain boiled rice or toast with plenty of butter. Great review Pappa 👍
Many thanks Emily. Recipe changes are usually for the worse I find, and I used to eat chicken in white sauce with rice for yonks, well tasty, haven't had it on buttered toast though...yet :)
168g of actual chicken and the rest is processed filler. £4.25? I'm not even going to dignify that price with my complaint. And Papps wasn't absolutely blown away with it.
I'll complain for you this time Edward, all the money and nothing special.
£4.25 😂😂😂😂😂 Ridiculous papps
Yep, they're having a right laugh!
Ooohhh cheap 😅! Swing and a miss from m&s! Love the tune papp and thx for informing us that the version most of us know is also a cover!
Cheers jay. I'll mention the famous covers from now on as I like many, assumed it was by Domino all along :)
Kind of expensive really. Would probably be better with peas and carrots over biscuits (American) or slices of toast.
Cheers Pap!
Indeed Tempest peas and carrots would go nicely with this :)
Wonder if the Chicken is from Thailand, out of curiosity I looked up Tesco's version , it's 41% Chicken and from Thailand, cost £2.40, I would only eat it if desperate for something to eat and would need to spice it up with curry powder, chilli, Powder, Paprika, minced Garlic etc preferably.
It said on the tin that the chicken was from the UK, which is nice. Also, I'd have garlic with anything.
Definitely all the till on this one papps personally I'll stick to Home Pride white wine and cream sauce which is the best I have tried add a couple of chicken breast fillets to a couple of cans of the sauce and put in the slow cooker. But I am not the biggest fan of the Home Pride red wine sauce??? Maybe I am a Chardonnay snob ??? 👍👍🍗🍗🥂🥂
Funny you should mention this Robert as I have a can of the Home Pride white wine and cream sauce in the cupboard with a plan for it. I did try the red wine one decades ago, can't remember what I thought, what I do know is that I didn't buy it again!
@@Papparoni looking forward to seeing what you do with it another Home Pride product I recommend is the tinned curry sauce that is to me a quality curry sauce 👍👍
Ok cheers Robert, thanks for letting me know :)
Ehh I'd just get a tin of their cream of chicken soup instead 😅
May as well mate, 3% chicken but only 70p, and tastes as good, if not better :)
(44) HOW MUCH??? Bloody burglars ...
Aren't they just!
Yeah a bit scandalous from M&S that Pap, at that price you would expect it to be a lot better than other tinned chicken out there!
Indeed so Mr Atkinson, bit of a let down to say the least :)
Oh god no,that looks awful, your a brave man swallowing that down papparoni! 😊
Just closed my eyes and thought of England!
@@Papparoni lol
Mhmmm
Sorry Mr Papparoni that is a total rip off you can get a whole ready cooked 1 kilo chicken in Sainsbury's for £5.75 ( cheaper ones are available ) mixit with a tin of mushroom soup 62p job sorted. Tinned chicken always contains old chewy birds that are not laying enough eggs anymore so they get bumped off.
I agree this is too expensive Ladd, and those poor birds, just because they can't produce as much as the youngsters.
How can they justify that price for what is effectively one chicken breast in a bechamel sauce with a load of unneeded added crap god knows. £1 for this last year in Asda mind you way Asdas pricing is going lately it's probably about a 5er now there aswell.
The prices will continue upwards mate until all we can afford is insects!
Wow! £4.25 is AUD $8.07
Fffffire Truck that's expensive.
Definitely paying for the brand name and label here.
There wasn't really anything special under the lid. Very disappointing for the coin.
A fresh chicken breast and a jar of Chicken Tonight 'Creamy White Wine Sauce' would be around the same price and you'd have more than 3x the amount of chicken.
Might be worth having a can or two in the apocalypse larder, not to eat but for trading or barter when needed.
Just last week, with a work colleague, I traded 11 cans of the 'Vegeta', beef, pork and chicken variety meals for 8 days of medium sized cappuccinos from the cafe up the road from work. It was a great bit of trading and he gets 2 free coffee's on his coffee card from his and mine purchasers.
I'll send you the image of the chicken tonight filth.
Cheers John 👍🤤😀
Indeed this one wasn't so good from M&S mate. Great that you are trading already, a taste of things to come... ;)
It should have been 25 p😊
Probably was, in the 70s! :)
£4•25? Average product and a dearth of Pareidolia, my friend? A sound thrashing is too good for the likes of M&S. Bahhhh, humbug!
Annoying to say the least eh mate. I just watched again, pausing on the food shots. There were one or two vague visuals but I failed to think of anything that I could compare them to!
The Asda one is fine. A can of their chunky chicken, some long grain rice and some veg (peas, sliced/baby carrots, sweetcorn etc) mixed in makes a cheap and filling meal.
That M&S version is a massive rip-off.
Liking your idea jay, I've always enjoyed rice with canned chicken :)
@@Papparoni It's never going to win any awards, but it does a job. One thing I would say is that the recipe doesn't seem to be the same/as good as it used to be.
@@jaysmith2858 Indeed I have found that no 'new improved recipes' are better.
@@Papparoni 'New and improved' usually means 'new, worse, and more expensive'.
Loks ok but not alot for the price 👍
I agree Sarah, max till :)
@@Papparoni yes definitely 👍
£4.25.......you could've bought one oxo cube from Harrods for that........
I'd never go there!
Very disappointing papps, the comment section is hilarious today 😂. That's my dad song, he sings it when he's angry for some reason 😂
Hahaa, I assume it calms him Ms Ms :)
@@PapparoniDoes it though 😂
Hahaa!
Too expensive for the taste! M&S defo gone down bank. Back in the day you knew that were payin more but the taste made up the difference. Not so much now pap. Slightly better rather than the extra mile! At that price its got to be something special but it aint.
You said it all Danny - slightly better rather than the extra mile.
No thanks pap. I wouldn't be getting it, what a overpriced product. Marks & Spencer's sure love mugging people off.
I find it a curious shop Ashleigh, some things are well priced, like their packet soups, and some are, well, like this!
You didn’t really find your thrill
In that disappointing tin
I like that phrase mate, 'find your thrill'
Rip-off m+s
For some items I agree, their packet soup is good though
