instead of local trifaciata and laurentii you have such a rare verity i.e. *Whitney, pinguicula,black gold, fruticosa ...*
I'm also a sansevieria lover snd collector and always enthusiastic to propagate them in a very large scale so my home becomes a forest of Sansevieria ...
So can you please tell me what should i use as a potting mix for bestest results and how to propagate them in bulk in less time ...?

I love your collection..I never thought cactii can be such a beautiful natural decor...I also have a quick question..I am right now panicking coz I put left over cooked rice in my compost as I didn't want to throw it away..now I don't know if that's okay or I have ruined my compost..Please reply as early as possible pleaseee... can I leave it as it is or should manually remove the rice from the bin😭😭😭

No issues with rice , everything breaks down in time . Compost does not get spoilt . If it's soggy it can be fixed , if dry it can be fixed .

Any hard seed will take longer to germinate , one can soak seeds and also ensure potting mix does not dry up during germination process .
To use cinder do i have to add any other substance like compost and other materials in it to make the potting soil for sansevierias or i just have to use cinder alone?
Cinder is basically like crushed rock , no nutrition . So you can add whatever nutrition you want . Ideal would be some liquid fertilizer or then a slow release fertilizer like osmocote 6 or 9 that is added once in 6 or 9 months ( available on Amazon ).

You can use whatever you have .
how many varieties of snake plant do u have maam
do u use RO water or tap water to water your plants? , i was wondering if Chlorine in tap water kills soil microbes
Tap water for everything including worm bins . For me being practical and efficient is most important . RO water is not doable for the entire garden , I just collect some to spray on calatheas , that's it .
Regarding microscopic life , I can't say with surity as I haven't checked under a microscope 😅, but all visible life in worm bins and grow bags is very much alive and kicking .
Also Mumbai water comes from great lakes which is rain water , no idea though how much chlorine is added to it .
In my vermi com bin under the wet cloth some insects are stick.i dont know what we call maggots r black flying larve ..etc.are they eat worms??.pls clarify my doubt and give me remedy.

Hi MBG.. do you repot all your plants every year including for veggies such as chilly pepper? If yes how do you manage.. it seems huge task and also plants big in size may get damaged? Pls suggest.
My tomato and chilly plants and most others are annuals as weather and sun permit their growth only 2nd half of the year , so seeds are started every year . Moringa is repotted every 2-3 years .
Sanseviera don't need repotting for atleast. 2-3 years with my sun and space , outdoors they may have faster growth which may need quicker up potting .
Yes it's a daunting task every year for me to amend potting mix indoors .I guess bigger the garden more daunting it gets . Best to split up the work season wise , depending on when it is season for that plant , especially flowering shrubs or bushes . If you repot when needed , entire root ball should come out with ease , avoid watering when planning to do this .

Cactus is grown in cinder . If you cannot get cinder use soil plus manure 50 per cent and 50 percent thick sand .
No rules , it depends on your sun and weather . Where I buy - please check in description box for information.
Depends on plant - if it does not like wet soil use good drainage material - coarse river sand or cinder .

Can I use dried leaves instead of cocopeat for the potting mix?
The soil in the bags are full of earthworms does that mean that the soil is fertile? Will I've add more compost or manure?I usually plant tomatoes, chillies and gourds..
I'm re starting my garden this month for the season,now should I add more manure or use the soil as such...?
Hello ! You are very welcome !!
Dry leaves /small twigs may be used in bottom of pot or grow bag or in a raised bed , especially when it's very big and you want to save on cost of potting mix and they would decompose over time and add nutrition . Also shredded leaves can be used as mulch or in bedding for worm bins .
For potting mix you need to use cocopeat whether soil based or soil less . It is essential for water retention and provide volume to the mix , roots get good medium to grow in .
You can use composted leaves ( leaf mold ) when amending as excellent carbon source.
All earthworms are not composting worms . If what you have regular worms they will help aerate your soil or potting mix . If they are red Wigglers best to amend and then add some fruit peels for them and cover up , away from roots to avoid decomposition heat .
When starting a new season best to use fresh potting mix or amend old one ( already have a video) .

Can I use coconut husk from the kitchen coconut in place of coconut chips ?
Better not to as you would not be able to create a potting mix in that form .
You can use this unprocessed husk at the base to cover big drainage holes .
