Remember that S.E. river you fished last winter? I moved 25 miles off the coast and now that river is a cleared bank 20 yards behind my place, my backyard, private fishing. Also a multi ramp and 130' of dock a long block from my place.
Been told there ain't no flathead around here, already caught a small one, good eating.
No I didn't get tired of the salt life, just now I've both to fish, while spending half as much time working the salt job.

I 9 decent sized freshwater drum today. I made fish tacos for the family. I know 2-3-pound fish aren't your thing, but with 2 blown out shoulders and 3 fused neck joints, I have to fish what I can. Ends up being a blast on a really light combo. Thanks for the video.

you are right. the one pounders are better eatin'. given the choice of one ten pounder or ten one pounders, i'll take the small ones every time. big for fun, small for taste.
Those transitions from mud to rock and vice versa are my go to on the big crick. Plus you get the rocks In between moving to the next one. Those little ones are awesome. Those are the only fish we skin. Skin em, gut em, and head em and fry em up whole. Something about meat coming off the bone🤠. My son hooked a monster last night but all we got was a peak at it as it flipped us the fin and straightened the hook out😲 great vid and keep your powder dry and your pantry stocked young man 💪😎🙏

I noticed I've done better catching bait on those transition spots. Might be something to that. I actually skinned a little one the other day. It was definitely delicious. Hopefully you get another shot. Heard a guy got a 72 lb flat your way last month.

Apparently 6”’is plenty for Slappy!! I’ve cornered some Walters in less than that.. Caught one once that was tagged by Forest n Game in Upstate NY.. Clipped it and sent it in.. They in turn sent me the info as to where it was released.. Pretty cool.. Stay safe..

I just can't believe you backpack that much cooking and camera gear off the beaten trail and you're still able to catch fish. I would be exhausted and I would have to take fish with me to fry because I wouldn't have the energy to actually fish.
haha I wasn't too far from my truck where I was cooking.
The best videos always has nature in them. Deer were awesome. I tried the Franks/Whisker Seeker but with bass. Seemed the Franks over powers the fish, but waiting to try with catfish.
It definitely overpowers the fish. I use it on mild fish like walleye and bass, but it definitely isn't necessary. Catfish, it's hard to imagine any other way.
Guess I'll have to go buy myself a catfish dinner tonight. You make me hungry.
Hopefully ya find some time to catch a catfish dinner too.
