    I have one and it’s been a great bike. Had it for 2 years. The biggest thing you must look out for is the valves. Make sure to keep up on adjusting them. I currently need to adjust mine. Also you need to not touch the idle adjustment screw. I did it to mine and now it keeps lowering by itself. Carb is great as long as you don’t touch that.

    I am a proud owner of one of a 140 TR BW that I got from a dealer on Maui. I live on the island of Molokai, so getting the bike here was kind of a problem. The only option for shipping was by barge via Young Brothers. Maui to Oahu to Molokai, a cost of $289.00. The bike arrived in great shape despite a 4 week delay, and the fact that the trailer that the bike was being transported on was rear ended by another vehicle. The only problems I had with the bike itself, was #1: That the front wheel was not exactly round. I noticed this on my test ride down the street of my neighborhood. The ride seemed a little bumpy even though I was on a freshly paved road. Upon closer inspection (According to my eye), the wheel was about 3/8" out of round. I did not notice it much at speeds above 15 or 20 mph. #2: The levers were not adjustable for reach, I had the hardest time with shifting & braking because of that. #3: the bike was really loud. I addressed two of the problems right away by replacing the levers with break away, adjustable reach levers and a spark arrester muffler from Amazon. I'm still debating whether or not I should attempt dealing with the front wheel on my own or not. In the mean time, I am having a blast on that thing.

    • @MotoVated207
      @MotoVated207  Před 2 lety +1

      I'm glad you like it. It is a little loud especially compared to my XR. The wheels are pretty easy to true. Just search truing dirt bike wheels. You can do it right on the bike. It would be good to learn anyways because the spokes do loosen and ypu will want to make sure you tighten them properly so uts a skill you will keep using

    There’s a clear reason SSR bikes are less expensive. Cheaper Components. They simply won’t hold up over time like a Honda. Remember old adage “you get what you pay for”.

    • @MotoVated207
      @MotoVated207  Před 2 lety

      @Evan Walker i think its all about perspective but for me, spending more doesn't necessarily equal more fun. My wife or grandson can crash and destroy this one just as easily as they can a KTM or Honda costing upwards of 3x more. If my plan was to keep it for 20 years i might think differently but for the 3-4 years we will own it, I'll put that money saved towards gear and riding trips 💰

    Can you comment on how much travel in front and rear and how the suspension does for you? I have a 2014 KLX110L that I got new and really enjoyed for a couple years. It has been sitting in garage for 4 years and needs a refresh but, I am 6'3" 190 and it was always a little small and suspension too soft. Considering the price of these new it has me questioning whether to even mess with the little 110 @Moto-Vated207

    • @MotoVated207

      It actually has quite a bit of suspension. I'm 215 6'-1" and it does great for me. The one thing I really like about this one is that the supension is pretty advanced as compared to the newer Hondas in this class. It has adjustable dampening and rebound on the front as well as adjustable rear suspension. The front and rear travel is also more than the Honda and it has front and rear disc brakes whereas the Honda is still running the drum rear brakes. It's a nice bike. My only complaint is it has a lot of compression which can make it a little difficult to start sometimes but it runs great and has lots of power for a smaller bike. I'm totally happy with it. With that said, I bought an older Honda XR100r that i restored and my wife prefers that over the SSR. The XR you can just about start it using you hand (this bike would break your wrist if you tried) and the XR sits lower and the suspension is much softer on the XR. For a bigger rider the SSR is definately a nice bike.

      @@MotoVated207 sounds like a the ssr may need a hot start lever / or electric start to be perfect. I'll check out the XR100 series next!
      I haven't fully made my mind up but thinking ill just restore the 110 to stock as any real mods (65 forks, swingarm) would be costly and end up underpowered and still on tiny wheels. I need to find a junker on 14/17 or 16/19 wheels

      @@jklm. I agree it's too much compression for a smaller or inexperienced rider. Restoring bikes is fun also.
