I hope they tell a more subtle story than "sylvanas has once again played 4D chess all along and is so much smarter than all of you" it would just destroy this moment of his words weren't genuine there. I mean, if they do this, it might be a similar case as with garona, where sylvanas can just pull a mental switch and he just loses all free will for some time, but if he's already turned at this point and knows what he's doing it's just jerking off to how great and evil and badass sylvanas is at the cost off one of the best character moments they ever showed in a cinematic.

When you pick up this quest, there’s an option to let Nathanos know beforehand, and he tells you to do what you must, he’ll protect you against any consequences, but you have to do that first.
