The Common Linnets were formed as a “Super Group”. Forming a group with Ilse de Lange, Waylon & JB Meijers. This song was written by JB Meijers. The name of the group refers to the little song bird from their native region. Both Ilse & Waylon are from the east of the Netherlands, close to the German border. The region is called Twente. In Dutch, people from this region are sometimes called heikneuters, referring to the songbird kneu or common linnet in English. The name for the band is an idea from Dutch designer Rens Dekker, who is also responsible for the artwork design of their single and self-titled album. Waylon left the band quite early after their succes at Eurovision, over some discussion about the future of the band. Ilse wanted to continue with the band, and tour through Europe & perhaps the USA as well. Waylon however wanted to pursue his solo career.

Amazing reaction!! so many great singers in the world I never would have known about before youtube. I would like to introduce you to a Korean singer. She is, to many of us, the best Female Vocalist in the world. Very unknown to many still. her back story. in one's twenties, she was diagnosed with early stage cervical cancer. She survived and beat it, but she was rendered infertile as a result of the treatment. She sings of the pain she feels from never being able to have her own children. The meaning of the song and how she deliver the song.. I feel her pain, I feel her story. She is a beautiful person, inside and out with not a mean thought in her mind. You will find her to be humble and insanely talented. Listening to her songs is a catharsis experience. She will never disappoint you. So please listen to it comfortably without prejudice.

The 'experts' hated this song (not glossy/absurd enough). The people loved it though. Low key. Very Americana. Sweet. You have to see the performance on Eurovision. The only 'real' song. Great chemistry.
I prefer the actual Eurovision version, where you can see them performing. It's much better than this video clip.
You guys should check out Eva Cassidy. Her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow is not forgettable. Live version. Amazing guitar vocal and interpretation. Better than Judy Garland. imo
