  • The Q60 Red Sport 400 is the highest level of performance from Nissan. Under the hood is a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 that produces 400HP and is mated to a 7-speed automatic. This is the same engine that will be in the upcoming 2022 400Z. On the outside you will find carbon fiber accents, 20in wheels, and bright red brake calipers. On the inside there is leather seating technically for 4, carbon fiber touches, and great steering wheel. Is the 2021 Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 a good luxury sport coupe to buy?

I also appreciate the hard buttons for most commonly used functions. I do not understand the criticism lobbed at this set-up, at all. @ratedcars7338 Před 3 lety +15

      I'm a big Infiniti fan, rooting for a comeback, but I definitely don't see this car as underrated. It's just really overpriced at $60k+. Having been in one for a lengthy road trip, there was a lot I loved about this car, but the lack of a DCT is a huge zonk that took a lot away from a sporty feel. The interior infotainment as well just does not even come close to BMW/Mercedes/Audi given that's the price segment this car is in (or even Lexus/Acura).
      That being said, the car looks phenomenal. Probably one of the best looking awd luxury coupe in its segment imo. Tightly designed, and very spacious for a coupe. It's a shame they cut some corners in some of the worst areas (DCT, infotainment), and priced the car so high up. Comparing this vs say, an Audi S5, Infiniti pricing/ value for the money doesn't stack up for this car.

      @@ratedcars7338 yeah I agree with you. 60k+ for this vehicle is overpriced for what you're getting. No ventilated seats. And for a sports car they should have offered a manual transmission, an or a dual clutch transmission, a fixed sport suspension, and a better driver connected steering system. Those are the main reasons I wouldn't purchase this vehicle. Along with it being 4k lbs for a coupe, which puts it at the same weight as the rs5. But heavier than the m440i by 300lbs. I'd rather go with an audi rs3. Have the same horsepower. Better 0-60, a unique engine configuration, better driving dynamics. And save money.

    In all honesty I’d say that is one of the best looking sports coupes on the market, from the exterior. Sadly where it falls behind is the interior, the transmission, the infotainment and-to a lesser extent-the engine. I am a former G35 coupe owner and really want to like this more, but it looks like I’ll be going with the new BMW M4 when the x-drive comes out in August. FYI though you can get this car for about a 15-20% discount off of MSRP. So if you just want an attractive, reliable sports coupe this is quite the bargain.

    I have a G37 coupe and I LOVE a that they kept the big arches/ridges on the very sides of the hood above the headlights. You can see them when you drive and it just reminds you that you aren’t driving a boring Camry or Accord. I am such a fan of these cars and how you really can attain so much car for not that much money.
    Edit: too bad it sounds like shit. I can’t believe how bad it sounds, but it does make some power. Everything seems similar to the G37. I love how they took everything the fans loved about the G37 and made it better. I think Infiniti did such a good job with this car.

    Great job Joe for properly calling this a GT car. A lot of people look at this car on paper and assume that it's more sporty than it is. The styling is the best aspect of this car. Other than that, it's a step behind the competition due to its age. New I don't think that this car makes a lot of sense, but used can offer a solid value.

    This is a GREAT car if you get it configured right. You can get the regular hydraulic rack vice direct adaptive steering with the '17 and 18s. Also, the silver weave of the 17 and 18's is fantastic with the dark red leather. And best of all, these can be had for the high 30s on the use market. When properly configured, a DEEPLY underrated GT - great design, excellent engine, smooth (if slow shifting) transmission, comfy seats, not cramped inside...

    It is always the interior design that irritates me when I look at an Infiniti. If they put a half of effort of designing the exterior into the interior, the company would have sold so many more cars.

  • @01gtbdaily30
    @01gtbdaily30 Před 2 lety +1

    Everyone who understand sales knows why they don’t have a DCT or manual in the Infiniti Q50/60 RedSport . It’s the same reason the BRZ/86 doesn’t have a turbo. They would take sales from themselves . No one is buying an expensive Q60 manual if the 400z is cheaper the same as no one buying a Supra for $60k when the BRZ/86 has a turbo with 300 hp for $25k

    i actually prefer the interior with the two screen where as other brands are starting to mount the screen on top of the dash board for example Audi ... It looks like a last min idea or maybe what you would think would be when the first started adding screens ..However, when in comes the the screens mercedes got it right and kept it integrated ... But again I don't mind Infiniti duel screen, but what are they going to so to take it to the next level ?

    Your reviews are always spot on... I was a long time Infiniti owner and fan. I had a G35 then 2 G37s. I felt like the Q60 lost some of the soul of the G cars. It felt not fully baked.
    As you noted regarding the steering feel, the whole car got a bit numb by comparison. I miss the old exhaust notes of the G cars too.
    Beautiful car though. Wish they had released the Black Sport - something truly compete with M RS and AMG . I waited for it but ultimately went and got an AMG. Infiniti /Nissan has proven it can make outstanding performance cars Somewhere they lost the drive to do it. I get it though, the enthusiast market is a tough sell... But the Q60 is great for what it is.

      They are a GREAT platform on the used market vs new, it’s a bit of a stretch for the money for a new model unless a lease. I am an owner of a 2018 Q60 Red Sport AWD & love it! Just like any vehicle, it has a few minor quirks, but I am extremely happy & pleased with my purchase! Puts a smile on my face when I hit the pedal! I originally came from a RWD Q50, night & day difference in the AWD vs RWD factor & handling. If you do plan on purchasing one, get one without the “Proactive Package” which includes the Direct Adaptive Steering (D.A.S). I wasn’t a fan & lot’s of people complain lol! Too bad this type of 3.0T performance has not trickled into other Nissan vehicles yet (although look forward to this reaching the Z soon, but am referring more to the Sentra, Rogue, Kicks, Versa, Rogue sport, etc that are each just about totally devoid of any driving enjoyment and power).
