Do it! Get the bike, if you can get a well kept one. I just revived mine after 5 years of sitting, she started right up and after some basic maintenance she is like new.
If you have the opportunity, just buy it. Worst case scenario if you don’t like it you can always resell it. You probably won’t want to after riding it.
