Nashorn on the Italian front - Part 2 - 1/35 TAMIYA - Tank Model - [ Painting - weathering ]

- Nashorn is on the move across the dry land of Italy to the next battlefield.
In order to support the advancing German Panzer III and infantry from the rear,
the Nashorn is capable of out-range attacks as a heavy anti-tank self-propelled gun that takes out opponents from a long distance beyond the effective firing range of enemy tanks.
The next battle is likely to be offense and defense in the steep mountains of Italy.
The commander ordered swift movement so as not to fall behind.

イタリアの乾燥した大地を次の戦場へと移動中のナースホルン。
先行するドイツ軍III号戦車と歩兵を後方から支援するために、
重対戦車自走砲として、敵戦車の有効射程外の遠距離から相手を討ち取るアウトレンジ攻撃が可能なナースホルン。
次に始まるであろう戦闘はイタリアの険しい山間部での攻防になりそうだ、
遅れを取ってはいけないと、迅速な移動を指示するコマンダーであった。

雑誌作例では海外のなかなか手に入らないマテリアル、素人には難しい技法など、いまいち参考にしづらい、と思っていましたが、主さんは割りと手に入りやすいマテリアルを使って、分かりやすく製作工程を説明して下さり非常に参考になります。(真似してみたりしますが、なかなか主さんのようにカッコよく仕上がりませんが…)おかげで積プラばかりでしたが、再び模型趣味を楽しめるようになりました。これからも素晴らしい作品を楽しみにしています。長文失礼しました。
私の場合、趣味で楽しむスケールモデルですから、限られたお小遣いの中でやりくりし出来るだけコストを抑えて制作しなければなりません。ですからあまり特別な高価な道具やパーツなどとは無縁なのです。そんな私の作例が参考になるのなら、それはそれでとても嬉しい事です。コメントありがとうございます。🍕🍕🍕🍺

Excellent two-parter. Perfectly photographed, edited and lit, one of the best you've made.
Alongside the m18 hellcat this kit is at the very top of my 'wish list'. it's a little expensive (here in new Zealand) but I'll hopefully be able to get my hands on one later this year when I go to Singapore.

absolutely beautiful job. you should try 1/48 scale tamiya kits next, i really enjoy them and its better for me because i dont have enough shelf space for 1/35 scale tanks.
1/48 is a little too small for me, who is starting to get farsighted, and it hurts my eyes. 1/35 size is just right for me now. Thanks for your comment.🍺🍺🍺

ウエザリングペースト専用の溶剤がありますが、私はタミヤのエナメル溶剤X-20で使っています。基本的に同じジャンルの溶剤にですから何も問題はありません。👍🍦🍦🍦

If you’re having trouble with adhesion you can use a pigment fixer, but they tend to dry glossy. I’ve had good results with both diluted PVA and Vallejo varnish. They need diluted with acrylic thinner, or if you use water dip the very tip of a toothpick in dish soap and mix it in. That will break the surface tension.

@@Gnushk736 Yeah, that works, I’ve used it before. The gloss won’t add anything because it’ll be so thin, Be careful with it, any that gets on the finish outside of the pigments will leave tide marks. I prefer pva for that reason. Id do some trials on a test piece to get a feel for how much you need to thin it.

You did an excellent job on this built.The rhino looks perfect.But you did to much weathering. A crew would not let there home get in that condition. The reason I said home. It is because it is the closest thing they have to one while in the military. They are going to take a lot better care of their equipment. They depend on it.
That is why I say you took the weathering too far.
Yes, it does look good, but the weathering makes it look like It is just too much. It looks like it was out in a field for 20 years.
When I do my diaramas. I have noticed it is too hard to sell them when the weathering is too heavy.
Now lightly weathered, they sell in no time.
Now as far as structures in diarrhea go. They can be little more than just a pile of brick. Maybe part of a wall still standing. With some wooden boards poking out. Depending on the look that you are looking for.
At the modeling shows. Just pay good attention to the armor class top 3 winners. Yes, the armor does have weathering. But it is not real heavy weathering. They have a little war damage from the war, scratches and chipping. The tracks are always the most heavily.Weathered.
