This was my first (and only) home Hawks game. About 6 years later i'm changing planes at Ohare, waiting to use a pay phone. The person on the phone, Joe Thiesmann.
This must have been a different feed of this game than what I saw, when I watched this game in ‘83, near Washington D.C. After it became 14-10 and Seattle kicked off, and Mike Nelms returned it to around the 40 from the end zone, I know for a fact that it was during a commercial break because I never saw that return, so it was done over again. Afterward before the shorter return on the other side of the field, the return by Nelms to around the 40 was taken away because where I was, I know it was during a commercial break. When the game came back in the DC area, they showed the Nelms return to the 40 from the end zone in instant replay. I liked Jack Buck and his “gravelly” voice. I think Steve Largent was great too. Thank you for having this by the way
1:18:05 - Easily within Moseley's range. He missed similar kicks like that against both Dallas and Green Bay on Monday Night, each of which cost the Redskins the game. He was in a slump that year.
I had a similar thought, although Washington was defending Champs, it was an odd year and no one believed The Skins would have gone 14-2 and score the most points in a season in league history.
Jack Buck and Hank Stram on the call! This game could have drawn Pat and John but still 2 legends in the booth!
I loved Pat and John Madden bcuz they added a little humor with there commentary
@@leroyepps1146 Pat and John and Pat and Tom Brookshire before that were just regular guys making the complicated parts of the game easy for the fans!
#1 Madden & Summeral
#2 Enberg & Olson
In my opinion
My all time favorite NFL announcers

Loving these games!
Wow 40 years ago.

Jim Zorn was the head coach for the Redskins from 2008-2009.
Unfortunately, and almost accidentally.
@38:00 "How do you stop that guy?" You don't! Great announcing team of Jack Buck and Hank Stram.
Great memories Jamie could you get the 83 monday night game cowboys vs redskins.

Hank Stram has that Regis Philbun voice. Juevos the size of BB’s
It was more like a nasal sound.
Had to re-kick a kickoff because “TV wasn’t ready”. Jack Buck said “They’re nuts. We were back!”
39:53 I could hear a whistle during the return.
Crazy to think they had to have Jobs in the off season
That's why there was another players' strike in 1987.
1:40:22 - Throws like that are what cost Zorn his starting position that season.
Who would’ve guessed at the time this was almost a Super Bowl rematch in January?
I had a similar thought, although Washington was defending Champs, it was an odd year and no one believed The Skins would have gone 14-2 and score the most points in a season in league history.
No one would have also guessed the Seahawks made a midseason QB change, after Jim Zorn struggled and was swapped out for Dave Krieg.
@@waynestell2808 Yep, Dave Krieg was quite the surprise. Wasn't he undrafted out of Milton?
@@johnliberty3647 yes, he was an undrafted free agent
@@waynestell2808 Krieg kept the seahawks a competitive team through out his time in Seattle. very underrated QB.
We couldn’t cover Largent for shit😂🤦🏾♂️
Washington still won in spite of it.
Nobody else could either.
57:15 dime by Theismann to Garrett
1:35 Curtis Jordan...
The '83 Redskins lost 2 games by a total of 2 points.
26:40 Brown
The '82 skins won it all, but I think the '83 team was better.
They just shit the bed in the Super bowl.
They were definitely better. One of the greatest teams ever.
They went to play Golf.
The Week after this game The Redskins and the Raiders played a CLASSIC @ RFK Stadium.
Best game I ever saw, It had Everything.
True statement.
The '83 Skins lost 2 games all season by a total of 2 points!
1:44:32 Doc Walker
39:44 Nelms
Largent is Seahawks goat and Riggins is the Redskins goat.
Lose to wsh but season sweep of rai? Hmm
