The guitar features a Grand Pacific body made from solid Indian rosewood, offering a warm response and rich overtones. Its top is crafted from solid Sitka spruce, known for its clarity and projection. The guitar's unique V-Class bracing not only enhances volume but also extends sustain, contributing to its impressive sound quality. The tobacco sunburst finish, complemented by white binding, black and white top purfling, and a single-ring agoya shell rosette, gives it a stunning aesthetic that's both classic and contemporary.
The 417e's mahogany neck, West African Crelicam ebony fretboard, and 25.5-inch scale length ensure comfortable and responsive playability. This model is equipped with Taylor's ES2 electronics, renowned for their authentic acoustic sound when amplified. Whether playing unplugged or through an amplifier, the Taylor 417e delivers balanced output across the frequency spectrum, characterized by its bright, lively tones and excellent intonation.
Its modern design elements, combined with traditional tonewoods, make it suitable for various musical genres, from fingerstyle to strumming. The guitar's superb build quality and meticulous attention to detail are consistent with Taylor's reputation for producing high-end instruments. With its inclusion of a deluxe hardshell case and a lifetime warranty upon registration, the Taylor 417e is not just an instrument but an investment for serious guitarists seeking unparalleled quality and sound.

Are you using a soft nylon pick? That sound is like a cheap laminated guitar. I usually really like the sound of a Taylor, although their pick-ups don't do them justice.

    I just don't get the $3k price tag for a $1k guitar.

You can definitely get it much cheaper if it’s built in China or Indonesia, and sometimes even Japan or Mexico, but if you want a MIA guitar the price is going to reflect that choice.
