This is a nice take on the Kentucky stick chair. Not sure of the longevity of the hemp over time being frayed by the shear forces but if left in an open position it should last a good long time. Nice pillow. Definitely a conversation piece because of the rich history of this chair. I remember the first time I sat in one over almost 40 years ago. It's wonderful to see them still around.

Pravin Manmothe pretty sure they are in the business of selling the complete chair so they probably don’t want you to DIY their design. However, they are several videos on how to make a “stick chair” and you just modify it a little to use rope as your thru fastener. I’m probably going to try that approach myself. Good luck!

The rope looks like it works better than all-thread. All-thread makes it hard to open and close.
